Thank you for watching! We are still a few weeks out from starting our fresh new homeschool year, what about you?!
I finally picked August 29th! My daughter requested starting after her birthday which is the 28th 😜
We were going to start August 1st but 2 out of 3 kids have RSV and double ear infections so my plans went out the window! I'm just taking a deep breath and we will probably start next week. Yay for an extra week of summer! 🤪
My daughter finished algebra 1 with teaching textbooks last year using the Casio calculator. It works great. We did have to read the instructions as well though.

My oldest will be a junior and we went with the Casio when we needed to buy her one and it’s worked perfectly! But yes, had to learn it first. 😂

We used the Texas Instrument calculators in ps as well...some 30yrs ago and they cost a fortune then too! No, it's not just your calculator you bought here...all the ones that do those functions are insane to use! AAAALL of them! lol I'm honestly dreading the day I have to crack one of those things out again. I hated it when I had to use one in ps . If I can, I'll find a work-around so I don't have to torture my kiddo with it if I don't have to. ;P

We will start sometime next week, I am definitely dressing really cute for the first day! I've heard good things about the flex binders, I'm convinced, I'm going to get us some. Also, I did a huge haul in target yesterday & saw those paper mate pens, they are so cute! Oh & I love how excited you were about your new printer, lol, oh the things that make us happy...! Sams Club has that same printer for a better price than even Amazon! I am with you and did the same thing this summer for this coming year! And so far it’s been incredible!!! I know I’ve gone through a ream of paper and the ink hasn’t hardly dented!

Love your channel, your style, your personality, your encouragement and your positivity towards homeschooling and life. I am a homeschool mama of 3 kids, going on our 3rd official year. Any advice on if/when or how to start a RUclips channel? I am really considering it.
In case you didn’t think of it… if you ever need to reuse a binder but still want to keep the papers you can just take out the old papers and put zip ties or twisty ties or pipe cleaners through the holes to keep the papers together.
I love those five star flex binders but they are SO expensive here in Canada
I bought the Eco tank last year. It is the best homeschool purchase. I have printed so much stuff this last year and the level of ink has barely gone down.
Back to school shopping was always something I loved doing so I take my kids too to get new supplies. Love your new dress!
there is going to be a learning curve on any of the calculators the Casio does not have nearly the functionality that the Texas instruments does. it can't store numbers/ functions nearly the same Etc, much more cumbersome to do functions on... there's no reason you can't try to find one used though. I use the TI-89 in college as a math major... so if you go that route he'll never need anything else. then he only has to go through the learning curve once....

we bought a calculator at Target last year (it was a cheaper one like the Casio one) and used it for Algebra 1 TT last year...my daughter figured it out and it worked well!
We have been saving up for an epson too! But we are a little worried about buying one online so we hope to find it on sale at best buy or something like that.
There is a tutorial on RUclips for that calculator. I used it for college algebra last year and worked fine.

I just got an Ecotank recently as well. I think the same model. I have 2 bones to pick with it. 1. I have to clean printheads way too often for the print quality to be great. 2. There is no automatic double-sided printing, which I was used to beforehand..but not a deal breaker. Other than that and overall, it will be worth the investment for how much I use a printer.
Which model? Mine does double-sided. I got the base model from Costco.
Great haul😀The Texas Inst. calculator is amazing. It is a big expense but we too have three boys so I looked at it as an investment you’ll only have to buy it once😜
May I ask where you purchased the calculator from and is it a specific model?
@@doreenanikewich8838 TI-30XA we either got it at Staples or Best Buy. Our oldest is 26 so we purchased it a few years ago when he was in 8th grade😉our middle guy used it and now my youngest 8th grader is using it too. No problems with it all all👍👍👍

I hope you don’t mind if I keep following you and loving your precious family. I had my daughter tested per her request this morning. She’s supposed to be in 9th grade but due to bullying when I pulled her out she & I decided to repeat 7th grade. I was afraid she would still score on a 7th grade level because I haven’t been teaching common core to her. But she scored on an 8th grade level. She has her cousin & best friend starting 8th grade this Thursday. So she’s decided to go back and start in 8th grade. 😭😭😭 I had so many things I wanted us to do together. I’m really going to miss her! I told her when she quit public school to come home there wouldn’t be any going back & she agreed but now she’s bored and misses being around other kids. Ultimately I want her to be happy. So I’ve let her decide. I have told her if she goes back she can’t come back home because we aren’t going to go back and forth. That’s not good for anyone. Honestly, if she decides she hates school and made a big mistake I would let her come home but this would be the last time! And there won’t be any going back. I truly hope she does want to come back home. I can’t imagine finishing school with her back in public school. I do want her to be happy and it to be God’s will. I’m just going to be lost! I’ve got tons of things I’ve wanted to try and do but I wasn’t ready for them now. If you have time would you please say a prayer for her that she’s made the right choice and that it is God’s will? It really hit me this morning that her twin brother will graduate in 3 years after this one. And she will graduate in 4 after this one. They are my babies. My older 3 are 24, 21, & 19. My oldest has graduated & has a house she’s renting but keeping her eyes open for one to buy when she finds the right one. My 21 & 19yr olds are still at home while in college. My 21yr old is starting her last year of getting her Registered Nursing degree. She’s got a boyfriend so I’m sure the closer she gets to graduating he’s either gonna pop the question or she will move in with him because he owns his own home. The only thing I don’t like is he loves about an hour and 10 minutes away. He works for the city so I don’t see him moving up here. She had planned on getting her bachelors of nursing online later. And maybe her nurse practitioners degree. But the RN program at our local college is by far the hardest program of any around us that we’ve heard of! It’s so bad even my mom back 40 years ago went to a different college to avoid this one. Now they have the highest percentage of graduates to pass state boards of any college but that’s if they pass the program first. They are known for weeding out as many students as possible throughout the years till they graduate. They start the program each year with about 300 students being accepted just to the RN program and by the time that class graduates they graduate on average anywhere from 40 to 75. If they even see a student post anything remotely negative about the program or an instructor on their personal social media page they will kick you out of the program. It’s unreal! I’m saying what I am but in a way that no one knows me or would be able to figure out where I live or what college I’m talking about because they could kick my child out because I said how hard they are. Not even I can take that chance. She’s worked way too hard and gotten way to close to the finish line for that to happen! But I’m sure once she graduates & gets a full time job she will fly the coop. She’s already been talking about it and said she can’t wait. We have a tiny house for all of us. It wasn’t so bad when they were younger but once you get adult sized kids we do feel like we are on top of each other. We want to add on but we just can’t afford to right now. Then my 19yr old will be here this school year but starting next school year and the next he will go off to senior college for 2 years about an hour & 15 minutes away. He will come home on the weekends to work at his job and thru the summers. And my twins will stay home once they get to our local junior college unless they get all 4 years paid for at a senior college. My 19 year old will graduate senior college in 2025 & find a job. He says he’s not in any hurry to move out. Lol. And that’s fine with me! But once we get him out of college then my other son will his senior year of high school left and then start junior college the next year in the fall of 2027. Then my youngest daughter will start college in 2028 unless she wants to graduate with her twin brother and doubles up on classes but who knows. The twins will start practice driving in 2023! 😳 But won’t be turned lose to drive all on their own till 2024. I learned with my older 3 once they get those licenses and get to go by themselves is when I became the village idiot and they didn’t want to hang out with me anymore. I basically only have 2 years left till I’m chop meat. It got here a whole lot faster than I ever thought it would! Maybe I need to adopt a couple of younger kids! I’m not ready to be an empty nester! And I want to homeschool! I’m not ready to be all alone thru the days while my husband is still at work. I’m disabled so I’m not able to go back to work. I may have to design and decorate my craft room/office and just spend some time plaguing in it. My girls aren’t quite to the point they are ready for kids so I’ve still got at least 4 to 5 years minimum before I can play with grandkids. I really dread my daughter going back to ps. We do live in a very small community with a small pre-k thru 12th grade school. It only has 1 building for pre-k thru 4th. Then there is a building for 5th, 6th, and the cafeteria. Another building for 7th grade thru 12th grade. A building for the gym. And a building for the tech building. They also have a small building for the agriscience bldg to share with the shop where they do wood working, car repairs, etc. And that’s it! That’s the school. They do have a playground. So it’s not like she’s going back to a huge school. Most of the kids that go there their families have been going there for generations and generations. I was just learning to really enjoy homeschooling when she decided she wanted to go back.

I JUST got the ecotank 2850 a few days ago through Costco! It was same price as Amazon but it came with an extra blank ink! Who hoo!! It will be here on the 4th and I can’t wait 😆

Too funny, I bought a bought back to school outfit for myself too! I have 2 boys! They could care less about a new outfit They would like a special lunch and snack on the first day. Lol 😆 oh the outfit I got was from old navy!

There are college classes specific for Texas Instrument calculators. I remember being so annoyed with those calculators when I was in school. It seemed hopeless. I'm sure that Casio is exactly the same, they are just complicated. 😭

My son is going into 10th grade. I bought him one of those calculators and couldn't figure it out either! He ended up using one on his phone that he could understand.
