Finding Slope of a Polar Curve in Calculus

  • In this video we find the slope of a polar curve, or the tangent line to a polar curve, using calculus. Some people find it strange that we find dy/dx to accomplish this but it's not strange if you remember to use parametric equations! After going over the general concept we do two examples of finding the slope of different types of polar curves.
    This is something you'll see in Calc II and AP Calculus BC.

    literally just went through all the review videos (most) and never felt this ready for an exam before! the videos perfectly summarized everything and left me feeling like nothing was forgotten.
