    Pat Mahomes is one of my favorite players in all of football. Love the way he plays the position. He is the pure definition of what a modern elite QB should look like.
    He's got the measurables, the cannon, speed, accuracy, escapability, fearlessness, and a flare for the dramatic.
    Really hope Pittsburgh drafts him whenever he decides to come out. Will learn under Big Ben for 2-3 years then have the reigns with what should still be a loaded WR corps.

    I think I already found the QB I want for the Niners. He has all the tools to success in Chip Kelly´s system. He´s accurate, he has an ok arm, he has the Russell Wilson´s ability to scramble and the way of crossing the ball so often is something that I haven´t seen before. I want this kid.

      I think if he plays really well again this year he's a 1st round pick. His arm strength is second to none and he can create something out of nothing at any time. The only thing that worries me is throwing across his body, but still he's a 1st round prospect to me.

    • @jpap967
      @jpap967 8 лет назад +1

      He throws it well across his body though ,and only does it as a last resort. I hope he stays for his senior year too though, by then he should also be very well seasoned and ready to play in the NFL

    • @jpap967
      @jpap967 8 лет назад

      Absolutely better than Graham Harrell. Graham was accurate but he had the best O-line and best receiver in the country around him to produce. I could out run Graham Harrell while I'm running backwards lol...Pat makes something out of nothing and gives Tech a chance to win games they shouldn't even have a chance in and is one of the most athletic players on the team. in my opinion, he's the closest thing to Johnny Football since Johnny Football

    Okay well Mahomes is top Dawg this year in the Big 12, followed closely by Mayfield. National Pundits and sports writers love throwing Clint Chelf out of OSU in the mix but that's nonsense. Arm strength is off the charts, keeps his eyes down field, has great escspability (if that's even a word lol) and has that overall IT factor. Add to the fact the guy is 6"3, 230lbs and was voted the toughest QB in the conference to take down by other players. I say he goes top 10 If Pat shows mechanic growth and can make the intermediate and easy throws he's gonna be a good one

  • @Djpricez5
    @Djpricez5 7 лет назад +2

      I agree, but I mean his playing style is more like them specifically Colin Kaepernick, which isn't necessarily a diss since I think people are more critical than they should on be on him personally. I definitely give the arm strength to Patrick Mahomes Kaepernick has an arm, but this dude shoot it out of the park lol.

  • @DraftUtopia

    Mahomes has far better deep ball accuracy than Paxton Lynch. In August we had Goff going to the Jets at 17, but had a feeling he would become the top quarterback. Mahomes is gonna be our top quarterback in our first 2017 mock draft and with RGIII going to the Browns Mahomes may end up in cleveland in my first 2017 mock we'll see what happens.

    • @danielfu4732
      @danielfu4732  8 лет назад +1

      I agree, overall Mahomes is simply a better all around QB than lynch. But for Pat's sake, let's hope to God that he doesn't end up in Cleveland....

    • @DraftUtopia
      @DraftUtopia 8 лет назад

      His deep ball accuracy is terrible and his short ball accuracy is outstanding with Paxton Lynch. I feel like Mahomes is more accurate and a better overall qb, but he needs to show that against competition this year.

    • @jpap967
      @jpap967 8 лет назад +1

      Mahomes played against very good defenses, especially against LSU. Even though they lost, look at how he made an NFL quality defense on LSU look foolish all game long. He also played well against Arkansas, and they won in Fayetteville. In my opinion Mahomes just need to improve his completion percentage, mainly in short and intermediate passes. but his long ball is deadly and he's not afraid to use it. Also, 230lbs and 6'3" and he can move and dart out of the pocket fearlessly.

    • @jpap967
      @jpap967 8 лет назад

      also, you can learn shirt and intermediate accuracy much easier than you can learn to throw the deep ball. with the deep ball, you either have it, or you don't. and he has IT

  • @DraftUtopia
    @DraftUtopia 8 лет назад +1

    if 49ers keep kaepernick i'll give the 49ers mahomes. Could also see him in Chicago if Cutler erodes in 2016 without Adam Gase we'll see what happens. Either way he's the top quarterback in 2017. Last year at this point in 2015 we were talking about the Big 10 quarterbacks now people are talking about the ACC guys for 2017. Mahomes is going under the radar once again.

    • @mrlawyersnoots1721
      @mrlawyersnoots1721 8 лет назад

      I feel like he'll be regarded by the draft media like Paxton Lynch was this year, good but a step below Watson/Kaaya. That being said, looking at this video he could definitely be the #1 QB prospect if he plays like this again in 2016.

    • @DraftUtopia

  • @ivan1135
    @ivan1135 7 лет назад +2

    The issue with Guys like Mahomes and Mayfield, isn't there athletic ability, or their numbers, it's their ability to read full defenses and make adjustments at the line of scrimmage, pre snap reads, and player progression down the field, now I'm not saying neither of those players do this, because they do But at the NFL level is a whole different monster, that's why we've seen Wentz Excell and Goff struggle. I think Watson is in the exact category as the two I mentioned above. I truly think tho that Mahomes is the best raw prospect in this draft just with the best upside, although I feel all 3 need another year of college and 2 plus years on the NFL sideline before they could ever be an NFL starter.

    • @ivan1135
      @ivan1135 7 лет назад

      I should also add that a highlight tape is prolly the worst thing to watch when grading a quarterback, it doesn't show how anything other than big plays and things he excels at

    • @barimaadusei-poku3940
      @barimaadusei-poku3940 7 лет назад

      Chad Hill Agreed. Mahomes is my favorite QB in the draft but he'll need 2 years of not playing to Learn how to do these QB fundamentals and at least 2 more to play as a starter and really figure the NFL out for himself (he should be allowed to make mistakes). I thinks he's the only QB in this class that has a limitless ceiling

    Interesting prospect. But that throwing across your body stuff won't fly in the NFL. And thanks to the air raid offense, you already know that recognizing coverages isn't even in his lexicon. If he's smart and savvy enough to pick up on that, he'll be what Johnny Manziel would've been.
    If he wasn't a slave to addiction and about 3 inches taller.

    my top 3 qbs are watson to clevleand mayfield to chicago and mahomes to the 49ers at 6. How do you feel about that. Who is better mayfield or mahomes i've seen both of their tape, but still have trouble deciding.

    • @danielfu4732
      @danielfu4732  8 лет назад

      Honestly they are both pretty similar qbs when it comes down to improvisation and eluding pass rushers but mahomes has the edge over him in regards to his cannon arm. Mayfield does tend to be a little more accurate with intermediate/deep passes though. Mayfield also the advantage of better threat threat receivers last season.

    • @DraftUtopia
      @DraftUtopia 8 лет назад

      Kaaya is overrated we don't even have him in the first round of our mock draft on our website Draft Utopia we have Watson and Mahomes in the first round.

      i moved mahomes ahead of mayfield and i think he's capable of passing watson and will have a better NFL career than Watson.

    • @jpap967
      @jpap967 8 лет назад +4

      If Mahomes was wearing an OU jersey last year, he may have already won a Heisman. Unfortunately, he won't get the recognition he deserves unless Tech has a break out year like they did in 2008. But as an NFL scout, I'd say he's clearly above Mayfield. Mayfield's play style won't bode nearly as well in the NFL, he's way too loose with the ball, more prone to turnovers and getting sacked, and when flushed he's more prone to mistakes than Mahomes. Also, Mahomes' arm strength is second to none, even off the back foot or across his body, that ball flies effortlessly and accurately. Watson is already seasoned and ready to be in the NFL, but I think Mahomes has a higher ceiling and could have a better career in the NFL

    half of these highlights are highlights from receivers. most of these passes are no more than 3 yards and the receivers break like 4 tackles. sure there are a few good throws here and there, but most of these are highlights of his pass catchers. stop the Favre comparisons people lol.

    Not impressed with this guy at all. Typical spread air raid QB. 90% of his throws were underthrown with the reciever stopping, turning around, or coming back to him. In this 12 minutes i saw maybe a handful of throws hitting in stride. Some MAJOR underthrown balls. Any accuracy I saw were on screens and slants with his recievers getting major YAC. No thanks....next.
