    This is a great video. Thanks for explaining why this particular product and how to install. I am new to tools and working on cars, so this is helping me build up the courage to mod my 2023 Elantra N 6-speed daily.

    It’s a great intake! Forge makes amazing parts almost everything on my Veloster N was Forge!
    I will say this between the Forge and the AFE closed intake between me and a friend we both had JB4 piggyback systems that is how we measured the IAT! We both started the cars drove about 3 miles then measured the temperature and the forge was 13 degrees cooler according to the JB4 very interesting to me.
    I believe also there is a reason why Gen racer uses the forge also on their racing cars.

    • @n-power-automotive

      That’s awesome! I wish I had something to measure the IATs before and after, but I don’t, so I was just going to see if my 1/4 mile times improved, but your experience is really encouraging!

      @@n-power-automotive I have no doubt that between a closed and open system the closed would remain cooler at a standstill, but let’s be real we buy these car for performance which means we are definitely not going to be standing still lol 😂 except for maybe in traffic but who’s going to be racing in traffic anyway!

    Have you noticed after the latest nav software update that your ambient lighting is off unless your headlights are on? I only ask bc I see you are driving during the day with headlights on and figured you wanted the ambient lighting in the video. Intake sounds awesome btw

I leave mine on auto, so I probably went under some trees and because the auto headlights are so sensitive they just stayed on after.

    Hey man, i was reading up the the reddit recently, and i saw a couple posts about the knock sensor putting the car into limp mode in heavy rain. Have you experienced that personally? That is the absolute last thing I need to happen to me. Often times i find my self on 1:30 hour drives back from the shore and sometimes it's raining. I'd be nervous the entire way home. Has that happened to you?

    • @n-power-automotive
      @n-power-automotive  Год назад +1

      I’ve never had it happen and I’ve driven in some pretty heavy rain, but I know it has happened to a lot of Elantra N owners driving in rain or going through a car wash. Why Hyundai didn’t put a splash guard over the sensor I don’t know.

    Great looking intake indeed. Looks like with the inlet it is around $550+ shipping. The bigger inlet looks to still bottleneck like crazy to the turbo. Curious what your thoughts are with the new intake after more time with it.

    • @n-power-automotive
      @n-power-automotive  Год назад +1

      The OEM inlet is way more of a bottleneck. The Forge is as smooth q transition from 4” to like 2-1/2” as you can get. When the conditions are right I’ll be able to say whether it actually increase performance, but the sound is amazing.

    • @n-power-automotive
      @n-power-automotive  Год назад

      Hey there. So, my thoughts on the JB4 are I think it’s a great choice if you’re looking for a little boost in performance, but if you really want to feel a big difference you should go with an ECU tune. Regardless, the main issues I hear about is needing to eventually run the Sonata high flow fuel pump. It’ll start surging at wide open throttle. Some people experience it, some don’t. And I think colder spark plugs are recommended. Otherwise I hear it’s pretty reliable.

      Would be a boost leak. Not sure if he's running the stock diverter valve, but it leaks like crazy out of that port with the diverter hose during boost leak check

      I did. Sorry I should have responded but I got distracted and forgot. I don’t want to do that so unfortunately I won’t be testing it out. I’m not going to get a BOV and venting to atmosphere using the stock recirculating valve isn’t recommended.

      @@n-power-automotive no worries. If you don't want to do it you don't have to.
      But just for clarification there's nothing wrong with doing it. The people that say it'll throw a CEL honestly don't know much about cars. It doesn't have a MAF and that hose is just the release of the BOV pressure. Intake needs to be capped so that it doesn't suck unfiltered air through that hole.
      I ended up finding a video of someone with an aftermarket intake, stock BOV with hose removed. It sounds great and is probably what I'll do.
      I'm now just choosing between the forge and aem intake. The aem is cheaper but the forge looks like it'll be louder. Hard decision to make, but the metal pipe of the forge makes me think the BOV sound will be louder too

    • @4drturbo85
      @4drturbo85 Год назад

      @@shamalabadingdong okay do an actual boost leak test on the car Like I have. It leaks like crazy out of that recirc hose. I'm guessing there is a solenoid or something that holds the spring down and It's not activated when the car is not running or the ignition not on? Because when I tested at the car was completely off of course. Can't do a boost leak test when the car is running. A recirc tube shoots air back into the intake to help spool the turbo more.
