There was a show from the early 90s. Dinosaurs. They cut down or built over something that caused some insects to die, and started a chain reaction that led to it snowing and never stopping.
The Chicxulub crater measures over 150 km across. It's small in comparison to what can be done. Most nuclear bombs are detonated over the ground to cause the most damage. The ground is really tough and absorbs tons of damage.
@@Clymaxx Don't forget that asteroids have an advantage of high speed collision, meaning they can generate a bigger crater. Meanwhile with nuclear bombs, they are set of stationary, and if instead is the warhead of an ICBM, they are usually detonated some distance off the ground to maximise damage to the surrounding area. Edit: Though you are right on your stuff. Especially the last sentence, nukes detonated on the ground have a severe loss in their strength. If they are detonated on the ground, they generate a bigger crater than in the air.
I mean because we're a part of Nature... and Nature can always shed us (plus a lot of other species) first before Life itself becomes endangered :P Only a few things will really kill life on Earth entirely. Like Earth getting sucked into a blackhole.

dinosaurs can build bombs?
@@jester4607 it's joke man
There was a show from the early 90s. Dinosaurs. They cut down or built over something that caused some insects to die, and started a chain reaction that led to it snowing and never stopping.
Ha! Don't worry, I laughed at this. It was probably Julian Robert Oppensaurus who was responsible!

“A small crater, about 10km.”
Okay buddy.
Well, that's tiny compared to the total surface area of Earth.
The Chicxulub crater measures over 150 km across. It's small in comparison to what can be done. Most nuclear bombs are detonated over the ground to cause the most damage. The ground is really tough and absorbs tons of damage.
0okamino well yes but to us its like huge but i still agree that it would be quite small conpared to earth
Think about how we have the moon now, a literal planet the same size as smashed into the pre-Earth! Now that's a game changer!

In nuclear war, the lucky ones are those that perish in the blast. I hope I am one of those people. I would rather die a horrible death over a few days than suffer for years while I slowly starve or fight cancer.
