    Pro tip: heat a pot of boiling water. Let it cool slightly, then put the end of the hose in the pot. Let it sit for 1 minute then take it out and connect it to the fitting. The hose expands just enough to fit over the fitting so you don't have to cut the fitting nor file it down.

      A plumber gave me some advice. Grab some bar soap, like your typical dove bar… and then put it on the tip… as it dries on… it becomes lubricated. It helped me so muchx

      It looks like an MIP pex adapter, if it's legal I would just hook pex up instead of cutting the barbs off and potentially risking a leak. If you can I would also use brass fittings instead of plastic with water. I don't know code for food trucks but I figure it would be legal

    Can you send a picture of how the fresh water and the gray water tanks are hooked up showing the hoses connecting to both tanks thank you

    On the hose and the barb, if you heat it up the hose just a little bit, the hose will expand and you don't have to cut the barb of the connector.

    How do you secure the water tanks. Or does the pvc pipe into the floor drain keep it held in place.

    Hey frank, waste water tank. Connections leading to sink, vent, drain right? What is the last small whole on the bottom right corner for. On the fresh water tank its the same Connection use to transfer water to pump.

    My friend, to put the shark bite into the hose, next time put the hose close to a flame 🔥 thats gonna make it flexible and easier to it inside. It works with pvc hopefully s gonna work with that. Thanks for your videos!

    Can I use a ball valve instead of the gate valve that you are using for draining the tanks?

    Why wouldn’t you put the shut off inside because it’s gonna freeze in the winter time

      The temperature inside and outside are pretty close to each other in winter. Wouldn't matter where you put it

    Hi Frank, would it be appropriate to put the two valves for draining the water tanks inside the trailer? .. Considering the climate of North America, that piece of pipe that comes out of the trailer can freeze the water in the case of the trailer it is also used in winter!

    GREAT videos! Have you thought about cutting in a porch on a trailer like for a bbq smoker? I can find 0 videos on how to build a porch on an enclosed trailer.

      No haven't looked into it. Not something I would do, no idea how to weld. I would think this would have to be built in from the manufacturer in my opinion

    I really appreciate the info you provide with a utmost dedication. I just want to have your opinion regarding building a 20' shipping food container trailer to be parked on a permanent location. is there any difference in building between a shipping container vs regular trailer. your opinion is appreciated.       I would assume all very similar, you might however possibly need to pull permits for that permanent build.

    Hey me again, thank you for all your help. I have some question, I’m wondering if I make the water tank by gravity put the water tank in the roof.that way I don’t have to used water pump. Do you think will pass inspection?

      I would not recommend that, water is heavy!!!! Its only a $100 pump it will save you in the long run in my opinion

    Do the tanks have to be bolted down ?

      No. They will be secured with L brackets to the floor

      Don't open in winter but i do keep 2 space heaters inside it. Be ready for a high electric bill tho

    Hi. I have a question. I'm in the process of building a food truck. I see your waste tanks are inside the trailer. During hot summer months do you smell the tank odor through the sink plumbing?

    great work! do you have a vent for your tank, and a s trap? I cant see it, a truck I was using wouldn't pass code because of no vent and needed to pay an extra 150 dollars to get another inspection after I did the work, they are very picky of here in Canada lol

      There is a little vent tube that goes to the fill valve and that's how it gets vented. No trap required for us here, every county is different which makes it harder.

      Because to be honest don't know what else to do with that hole. I guess I could put a 1/2 plug but I like the vent more

    Thanks so much for this informative series, it's been very helpful to me. I'm still sifting through all of your videos, but I have a question I was hoping you could help with:
    I'm from a country with fairly narrow roads and a smaller van/truck would be perfect. So I was wondering if a high-roof van (like Dodge Promaster/Ford Stepvan) would provide enough horizontal and vertical space to cook & serve tacos, sandwiches and maybe curries. Got any tips or advice on this you'd be willing to share?

    You don't need to shave the ribbed part of the connector for the flex tube. You just screw (clockwise) the tube and it will go right in.

    Hey Frank! Great videos man!!!!! Question, where do you go with the open end of the vent pipes? I see you Tee'd them together which is nice. Does the open end of the vent pipe(s) also have to be placed on the outside of the truck/trailer?

      The fill valve that will go on the side of the trailer has a place to put the vent pipe right next to the fill line. Works great

      The only problem I see with hooking the 2 vent lines together is that if for some reason the gray water tank gets ignored and over fills it will back up into the vent and then eventually flow into the fresh water tank. Not sure most health depts. would approve that.

    Your so lucky my health department requires me to have a master plumber do all the plumbing work. Everyone wants at least $3,000 to do it. Which is BS cause I know what I’m doing 😫

    Drill is smoking because you keep drilling the holes on the 2 setting. Move it to the 1 setting and it wont smoke or stop as often it will drill slower but it will not wear out the drill also.
