These videos are perfect, I only get 4 hours of sleep usually and these have been helping me fall asleep. Thanks for making my sleep schedule a lot better :D
wow i havent collected pokemon since the late 90s but i love this video. im glad theyre pokemon i actually recognize lol. this video makes me want to dig my cards out and have a look for old times sake. cant wait to check out more of your vids!
I really appreciate you sharing that, thank you. It means a lot to me when I hear things like that, and it reminds me why I started doing this in the first place. I've been absent lately, but I promise more videos are coming :)
The ASMR Nerd, someone once told me you have to find the right ASMR person for you or you won't fully relax , your videos have helped SOOO much and it's very good!
I really like the way that you always take your time to make your ASMR the best it can be and I can rewatch any of your videos because of The awesome sounds. I really like the sound of pokemon booster packs, I am a huge fan of pokemon myself maybe you should open 1 or 2 old school Pokémon cards! I would really appreciate it ! Keep up the good vids -morgan
Been watching ASMR videos for at least a year now and so have become quite picky with my preferences. Stumbled upon your channel by accident today and I have to say, I'm very glad I did. Keep up the great work! Love your videos :) xx Bex, UK.
Thanks ASMRnerd, I'll be sure to check those others out. I'm glad that in the ASMR community both ASMRers and ASMR artists alike are always so willing to help others in the community out.
Thanks for the kind words, and your suggestion! I've looked into getting a de-esser plugin for Audacity, but I haven't actually done so yet. I've heard good things about Spitfish, and if I get the time I'll check it out this weekend.
Haha, I'm not actually chewing gum in this vid! I just whisper very close to a very sensitive mic. It picks up all kinds of weird mouth sounds you don't normally hear. I also ran the audio through a light high pass filter to cut some background noise and accentuate trigger noises. For many people, mouth noises can be a major trigger.
I agree, MTG is a mechanically superior game. Truth be told, I rarely actually played with my Pokémon cards, I mostly just collected them. That being said, I have great memories associated with doing so, it was a lot of fun.
thanks for taking time to listen my recordings :) i am in the potition to announce that i am close of buyng the yeti you recommened! i will now check zoomH1 and decide which one i will buy! :)
your whisper voice reminds me of kiwiwhispers but I like the topics of your videos more... glad I found your channel today. if you are into Lord of the rings/Tolkien in general I would like a video about that. maybe just discussing the movies/books or straight up reading.
Thanks! Much of it was given to me by a childhood friend. Still got a lot of gaps in the collection though, especially first-edition cards. I need to start combing garage sales or something for cards, or find some good deals online.
Nice. Randomly diving into more of your backlog from pre ES6 map video . If you still have these, make sure that you check current prices if you ever sell. Some are worth tons, especially holofoils from base set.
You're correct, it's plastic, not glass. I've had it for ages, I think I just picked it up at a local comic shop. I've got a few others like it, and a double-wide one too. I think they're made by Ultra Pro.
Haha I don't even think *I've* seen all my vids at least 3 times :P Really glad you dig my stuff so much man, seriously. Your offer to donate is super generous but I must respectfully decline right now, I replied with more detail to your comment about it on my pokemon cards video. Thanks again mate!
Hello, my friend! I'm glad you liked my voice. About 15 years ago I wanted to learn the profession of psychologist. And an intern at the psychological center. Director of the center said that my voice is soothing. Now I do not work, and such a relaxation video - my hobby. But if someone they like and will calm down, I'll be happy.
lol...Seaking is one of my favorite Pokémon...and then you just totally skipped over it for Vaporeon! I was like "WHAAAAT? He talks about every single card, yet skips over my favorite!!!" lol...awesome video though...love it!
Haha, I do play MTG, although just casually and not very often these days. I have a few booster opening videos if you're interested. In the Pokemon TCG, foil cards are in fact called "holographic" or "holofoil" cards, because the foil they use appears to have depth to it, like a hologram. I demonstrate the effect at 9:03 if you're curious.
Before I make a suggestion about your videos, I would like to compliment you on your unique idea. I really enjoy your videos, I don't really like ASMR role play and that seems to be the bulk of the community. Anyways, my suggestion is that you should consider using an audio editing tool called a "De-esser". Your "s" sound when you speak is very sharp, and if you are willing to put the effort in, you can use this tool to reduce the gain of the specific frequency that your "s" produces.
Yes, the Yeti has much better sound quality than a built-in microphone. I got mine for about $90 USD, which might seem like a lot, but it's a very good microphone. I have also heard that the Zoom H1 is a good microphone.
Relevant username! It's a common misconception that nerd refers exclusively to academic nerdiness. From Wikipedia: "...[nerds] may spend inordinate amounts of time on unpopular, obscure, or non-mainstream activities, which are generally either highly technical or relating to topics of fiction or fantasy, to the exclusion of more mainstream activities". I'd say that fits the bill!
No problem man, best of luck finding some vids that work for you. You mentioned nostalgia as one of your triggers, and it reminded me of a vid I saw a while back sans whispering that triggered me like crazy. Search RUclips for "NES appreciation" and check out the first result, see what you think. The video is short and the guy doesn't do ASMR stuff normally, but I figure it might work for you.
More, actually. There are 16 rares, but each has a holofoil and non-holofoil version, for a total of 32 rare cards in a 64-card set. Jungle was a bit silly that way :P.
I remember my Pokemon deck I still have it. At my old private school you were either popular if you had good Pokemon cards or if you had a Dsi. At the last year is when I got this huge deck from a thrift store it had lots of good cards some that did 10 x the amount of damage it already did which was either 30 or 50 !I have the blue and purple card holder my sister gave me I used to hold my GameBoy in it til I lost it some years ago it has Pikachu , Meowth, and Blastoide on the front and it says "Gotta Catch Em' All!" If you could tell me what the name of that card holder is it would help me out a lot so I can find out how old it is.
At my middle school, your coolness was definitely determined by your Pokémon cards, though at the time we had Game Boys, not DSi's ;). As for the bag, I Googled "purple game boy bag blastoise" and got a few images that look like what you describe. I can't find any reliable information on it, but given that it's only got Pokémon from the original 151 on it, I'd guess it's from around 1999. I found a used one that sold on ebay for about $10, so you could probably replace your lost one for not too much :)
No I didn't lose the bag I lost the GameBoyColor my big sister gave it to me my first video game The Legend of Zelda Link's Awakening I was only 6 or 7 I'm 12 right now but I'm a 50 year old 12 year old who likes old things and 50's 60's and 70's Rock Bands....
That's probably from the Pokemon jungle or Pokemon red, blue, and green days. That was the main pic used back then... A blue background with white looking light flares shooting up? I believe mewoth is in the middle of the other 2 Pokemon if I remember right.
I wish I cared more about my Pokémon cards when I way younger. I just traded and battled instead of collected. I traded away some pretty rare cards too.
I'd like to, but truth be told, it's been a looooong time since I played the game, and even back in the day I didn't play much, mostly just collected. I might, however, get around to doing an instructional video for Magic The Gathering, since I currently play that.
how do you technically recorded video? I have a wish: when you remove items from view, you can put them away from a mikrofon on a soft towel*( to soften the sound). I have a similar problem: when I put things on the table, the sound is loud. If we can alleviate all these sounds, it will be an ideal option. I wish you new creative ideas!
So, I'm going to apologize right away cause this comment is probably going to be a little long, but I hope you don't find it too... idk, lol... sorry in advance... anyways... I just wanted to say that you're the first male ASMRtist that I have watched a video from (this video being the very first) and I have to say that I'm glad I stumbled across this video. I'm relatively new to ASMR as I never knew it was an actual thing (I grew up wondering if I was just a weirdo whenever I would get relaxing tingles for different things), so I've usually only watched videos by women because I've seen them more commonly sorting and organizing make-up and such things which, until a few weeks ago, gave me tingles galore. Then I finally was able to start taking my anxiety/depression medication again and now... nothing... and I found out that it is a common inhibitor to the "tingles" for ASMR and it made me really sad because my sleeping became so much better once I started watching videos and I thought I'd never feel ASMR again while I was taking the medication (which I need to take as my anxiety and depression are almost debilitating without it)... that is, until I watched this video. I GOT TINGLES!!! It made me so happy :D I keep my volume relatively low when I'm watching ASMR (as the lovely ADS that RUclips loves to spring on me tend to NOT be relaxing at full volume) so your voice is almost inaudible, but I LOVE IT!!! And your slow hand movements... the way you tap your nails against the case at the beginning... ALL of it gave me tingles... so I just want to say THANK YOU and you have a subscribe from me :D
No need to apologize, thanks for taking the time to write such a heartfelt comment :) So glad that you found my videos, and that they brought your tingles back! I think it's pretty common for people to prefer female voices over male, but I'm glad that you're able to find mine relaxing. Thanks very much for the kind words and the sub! Hopefully see you around the comments in future :)
Lol, yea. I had to explain to my neighbor who the legendary 3 birds were. It was hard because I didn't have pictures XD and I forgot the fire bird, still can't remember Moltres? I know Articuno and Zapados by heart but Moltres just vanishes from my memory a lot XD
I'm sorry to hear it. I don't think you're alone in that regard. While many people are triggered by mouth sounds, many others like yourself dislike them. I'd recommend checking out some pure sounds channels, like SOUNDSculptures or TouchingTingles.

+Orbit Kross Really glad to hear they're helping you :D
theASMRnerd all ASMR makes me fall asleep but your ASMR is more interesting than the others so I watch it more
I try to strike a balance between interesting and relaxing, glad it works for you!

I'm so glad I discovered you last week. You are far and away my favorite new ASMRtist. Keep up the good work!
nick i don't know what i'd do without your videos. i have anxiety attacks and they help me so much, time after time.
I really appreciate you sharing that, thank you. It means a lot to me when I hear things like that, and it reminds me why I started doing this in the first place. I've been absent lately, but I promise more videos are coming :)
You're very welcome.
This video is really relaxing! thanks :) and two things I like: Pokémon and ASMR :)
you are my main asmr retreat and I love how you respond to people the best you can. You are amazing and keep up the good work.
+Hunter Schaeffer Thanks man! I appreciate that you appreciate my responses XD
The ASMR Nerd, someone once told me you have to find the right ASMR person for you or you won't fully relax , your videos have helped SOOO much and it's very good!
Awesome man, glad my videos are helping you out! I definitely agree, you gotta find the right channel to consistently get ASMR and relax.
Omg your voice is great and the fact that you do things like sorting pokemon cards is awesome
Omg that kanghaskan at 9:28 is off the chain roflmfao - i love you theASMRnerd!
I love to you too, internet person. And so does Kangaskhan.
I really like the way that you always take your time to make your ASMR the best it can be and I can rewatch any of your videos because of The awesome sounds. Glad it's helping you relax, thanks for watching!
Good lord. I didnt even watch the video before I subbed. But now that I have and looked through your video list... I am excited :)
I literally sort cards just to chill while watching the I think I may have the most organized collection out here
Been watching ASMR videos for at least a year now and so have become quite picky with my preferences. Stumbled upon your channel by accident today and I have to say, I'm very glad I did. Keep up the great work! Love your videos :) xx
Bex, UK.
Hey, thank you! Really glad I my stuff suits your ASMR tastes, and I appreciate you taking the time to let me know. Thanks for watching :)
Another Pokemon card video! Fantastic! Great stuff thanks ^^
ASMR and Pokémon cards in the same video? :O my life is complete!
Keep making vids man! Your my favorite ASMrtist.

Greggory Craft Better late than never man, welcome!
:3
good video. great sounds and voice. Thank you.
Glad you think so, thanks for watching!
Awesome! Glad you enjoyed it, and thanks for watching. I have another, newer Pokémon card sorting video that you might also enjoy.
Thanks ASMRnerd, I'll be sure to check those others out. I'm glad that in the ASMR community both ASMRers and ASMR artists alike are always so willing to help others in the community out.
The best ASMR video out there!
Thanks for the kind words, and your suggestion! I've looked into getting a de-esser plugin for Audacity, but I haven't actually done so yet. I've heard good things about Spitfish, and if I get the time I'll check it out this weekend.

I loved it!

if you are into Lord of the rings/Tolkien in general I would like a video about that. maybe just discussing the movies/books or straight up reading.
Umm I'm definitely late and I just wanna say amazing I'll continue to watch this stuff
Where did you get that glass looking case? I love it, although I think its plastic.
I do! I have both the yellow and red cheek versions. When I get around to a base set show-and-tell video, I'll point it out :)
If it is plastic, do you know where I can get the glass form of that case?
Nice collection!
So good I always thought an ASMR booster box opening would be a good idea
I love you!!! You should make a Nintendo GameCube favorite game series
a webcamera built into the laptop ? or it is attached to a PC monitor? built-in microphone or the one with the headphones? (fornitura)?
Vaporeon is awesome! I think Jolteon is my personal favorite eeveelution, though I dig Umbreon too.
You're correct, it's plastic, not glass. I've had it for ages, I think I just picked it up at a local comic shop. I've got a few others like it, and a double-wide one too. I think they're made by Ultra Pro.
Great, as everytime :) Waiting for that Wandering in Skyrim #3 :)
You rock!!! Impressed with all of your videos. Seen em all at least 3 times lol. Looking to support $ wise my friend. Let me know how and I will 😊
Haha I don't even think *I've* seen all my vids at least 3 times :P Really glad you dig my stuff so much man, seriously. My pleasure, you too!
Do you have the Pikachu card with the yellow cheeks?
Brilliant ASMR! Congrats
PS Electrode
Awesome, thanks!
Nostalgia ASMR is best ASMR.
I'm afraid I haven't a clue where one might find a glass version. A quick Google search doesn't reveal much. Best of luck finding one!
True! I'm a little older and I missed the Yu-Gi-Oh craze, but my younger brother was big into it. I've never played the game, is it any good?
lol...Seaking is one of my favorite Pokémon...and then you just totally skipped over it for Vaporeon! I was like "WHAAAAT? He talks about every single card, yet skips over my favorite!!!" lol...awesome video though...love it!

yes, and we are look for better options .... This is an incentive to the development of, and it gives value to our personality.
More, actually. There are 16 rares, but each has a holofoil and non-holofoil version, for a total of 32 rare cards in a 64-card set. Jungle was a bit silly that way :P.
You're very welcome! Two of my favorite things too :)
i loved the first generation so much!
I've got Metroid for NES. I'm planning an NES gameplay video with Dragon Warrior, but I could probably fit some Metroid in there too.
I remember my Pokemon deck I still have it. At my old private school you were either popular if you had good Pokemon cards or if you had a Dsi. I have that very same bag, but I got it for $0.50 at a goodwill.
BeatlesGamer McCartney I can see why he thought you were talking g about the card holder cause that's what it seems like you're talking about
That's probably from the Pokemon jungle or Pokemon red, blue, and green days. That was the main pic used back then... A blue background with white looking light flares shooting up? I believe mewoth is in the middle of the other 2 Pokemon if I remember right.
Got here, looked at title, related titles from the channel.
Subscribed before I heard your voice.
This is awesome!!! Thank you! Subbed :-)
I wish I cared more about my Pokémon cards when I way younger. I just traded and battled instead of collected. I traded away some pretty rare cards too.
Alright, thanks for your help. Have a great day, and stay positive.

Reminds me of the episode of the anime where Ash and co. are in the safari zone and run into that wild kid raised by Kangaskhan :P
Glad you dig it!
I understand ..... Do you plugging a microphone to a computer system?
I do not understand everything, but it does not matter ... The very whisper quiet))
I subbed because of this video
Hey asmrnerd! can i have the knownledge of what microphone you use?? Sorry i know i spell wrong :)
thanks a lot :) i will try get that one or similar! i have problem with my recordings and want new microphone! Thanks again :)
Yes, the Yeti is a USB microphone that must be plugged into a computer. The Zoom H1 does not need to be plugged into a computer.
Exactly :)
Thanks!
Pokémon is Serious Business™.
Nice video!
Thank you for your valuable information, have a good day.
Awesome.

Electrode is the fastest electric type as of gen VI I do believe.
Rad, thanks!
I remember they used to have suggested prices for rare cards but no one would ever buy them for that much however in the future they just might.
hey it's the older types I feel nostalgic
Currently doing this myself 😅
Thanks! I wanted to pick something simple and accurate :P
Dis dude is my faverit asmrist and id love if hed start a pokemon platinium lets play
Hey and welcome! I Platinum your favourite Pokemon game?
Must have just been the reflection, I don't think there's such thing as a holo nidoran! :P
Audio is perfect.
I'm sorry to hear it. I don't think you're alone in that regard. While many people are triggered by mouth sounds, many others like yourself dislike them. I'd recommend checking out some pure sounds channels, like SOUNDSculptures or TouchingTingles.
