I knew you would love this one. Not sure if you got the mini expansion with this too... Operation: The Moloch Server Room? Instead of taking the Hacked Machine you discard it. If you collectively do this equal to the number of players +1, each player receives 5 bullets and from then on one less Machine is deployed.
While 5 Bullet Goods are great, I wouldn't want fewer Machine cards deployed. They are usually such crazy great cards to Build into your state's tableau.
You're right Zee, Moloch is a great State Pack for 51st State. Now we know that the next one is No Man's Land, an expansion that introduces area control as a mechanism in the game. I would also love to see another Moloch State Pack, so that the two decks of Moloch and double-sided Machine cards could both be fleshed out to 50 card decks (currently 27 and 23 cards). However, I before more Moloch love, I would love Iron Gang and Sharrash Faction Boards for the game, and Allies expansion cards for all the other factions (Appalachian Federation, Mutants Union, New York, The Merchants Guild, Hegemony, Texas, Mississippi, and University - keep in mind that Uranopolis is already coming in the Ultimate Edition). This way you could mix and match which Allies you use based on the factions not used by the players. This could be a larger expansion for 51st State, as it would almost be the size of three regular expansions (8 new factions for the Allies expansion that originally contained three factions).
@@JonReid01 51st State: Ultimate Edition is great, but it did not add any of the things that I posted that I'd like to see. Hopefully we'll get that in a future expansion.
I just received this game yesterday but had played it before and this looks like a slam dunk for me. Nice review Zee and I would love to see your opinion on Red Rising.
Hey, Zee or gaming family...I own Empires of the North and we dig it. I been thinking about picking up 51st State. Do you think the games are different enough to own both? My gaming addiction is telling to buy everything... I'm trying to tone it down ;)
I think that the game in general is more fun with 3-4 players, as more Open Production Locations are in play. The Moloch expansion could also by pure chance see Machine cards come out that only impact one player and therefore will ruin their game if not dealt with. That said, the Machine cards other side is usually such a great boost to a player that we tend to fight over being first to get them.
Small question Zee, how many expansions would you recommend per 1 game? I'm a fairly new player and I wonder at what point the playability tips when mixing too many at the same time. (ps: great review, I love the visible excitement when reviewing)
Was curious to see what you thought. I got sent it also along with Egyptian Kings but I only have IS and EotN as I find them better than 51st State which I don't own - mainly theme and faction differentiation reasons, I still think it's good overall. But I have to maybe look at the game again as I only ever dabbled with the base game on its own.
Oh, it is? I didn't realize that. I thought the post-apocalyptic setting of 51st State was all Trzewiczek. :) I've never played Neuroshima Hex. but I know you really like it.
Zee you haven't mentioned the most controversial part that the leader in points loses 2VP per still deployed moloch machine at the end of the game. Doesn't it bother you? It looks absolutely terrifying as a "catch up" rule, if you are winning 25 to 24 before counting VPs from locations its a "bye bye" for you...I could see a situation where noone would want to trigger game end because of this rule.
Man this guy is the best reviewer out there. Smooth, concise, and to the point.
Zee's set looks insanely good

Did the new ultimate set fix this for you? Just curious

Brilliantly!
Will Gamenerdz be getting this?
What player count do you feel works best with this expansion? I only ever play wit 2

You are only to play with one expansion deck and the base deck each game.
I was thinking this too. Combine it allllll 😂

14:42 Wait, what? ;)
He was reviewing a Neuroshima Hex expansion, just holding the wrong box. :)
Well, it’s in the Neuroshima world, so... Yeah, I just said the wrong thing 😄

HaHa ;) It's joke :D
Love the set, Zee.

Why are these games so dark and evil looking, there is more to this then meets the eye.
