Great points! My wife and I are 90 days sober, the best thing we have ever done. I wake up early, fresh, energetic, present, calm, happy ... you improve on so many levels. And work, productivity, training, sleep, love, sex, relationships and so on and so forth. I am so thankful to be here. Clean. Stay cool, stay fresh.
I’m 42 and have been an alcoholic since I was 15. Started drinking and I never drank to have a drink, I drank to get drunk every time. It was the way I hid from the rest of the world. Then college came and I get into using cocaine, and the mix of alcohol with cocaine was the weekend after drinking all week. Then I reset due to a brain injury but that’s when I get diagnosed as schizophrenic. So I start hiding from what I was becoming with alcohol, cocaine with the addition of heroin. About 5 years of heavy use before an overdose. My fear of dying, my wife who didn’t leave, and my son who is everything a person could want…I’m clean for 20 months
The monetary factor is certainly a factor too, especially if you drink at pubs and clubs, for some people i know thats where all their remaining income goes. Also loss of time, if you get drunk then most of the day afterwards is wasted and unproductive

I agree with all those those things and great that you’re doing it with your wife
