In my alternate world, there would be third, proper third Dolls album with Red Patent Leather, Pirate Love and Teenage News propelling the band to national resurgence and the place they so richly deserve. In reality, they didn't make the RnR Hall of Fame but the fuckn GoGos did. I like my alternate world better.

This is one of the nights W/o...Jerry Nolan. During these 8 nights ? David was announcing the 3rd Album " The Lipstick Killers " ( Which was to have guest Stars...players who would appear w Thunders & Johansen ; Rick Derringer..../Edgar Winters lead guitarist. John Lennon , Steve Marriot, ..)
These shows were totally amazing...they were at the top of their form...( Besides conflict between JT& DJ)...Sylvain was the Author of many of the songs. Malcom McLaren's instinct were fine...looked outasite all in red...the readymade statement w the Hammer & Sickle flag was edgy......But , Village Voice ( R Christagau)... chickening out over the " Commie Flag ...!".....meant these shows had no expected Press... McLaren had no media connection .in NY City.......... Panned by the press.
Johnny may have released the only actual tape from their last studio sessions ( a song that prophecy s....some ' targeted' building being attacked ... Downtown ) Downtown... rerecorded in Britain was released W/o credits..on the b side of....45 of CPUAAM...?
True Jerry didn't make most of the gigs, but he appears to be in the footage here. Spider from Pure Hell sat in on the rest of the gigs, and, as you know, he was African American. The drummer in this this footage is Caucasian, left handed, and looks like Jerry.

@@jodyworth7412 Yeah, I agree, that is definitely Jerry on drums here. I've only seen one photo of Spider on drums with the band from these series of shows. And of course that's Peter Jordan on bass filling in for Arthur.

@@opalgoo3170 if you listen closely he's saying "you're" not "leather" as in Red, you're the judge". Not "red leather shirt". The word "you're" doesn't sound like the word "leather". Es triste saber que no tuvieron el reconocimiento suficiente, a pesar de que ufff... Inspiraron a bandas sumamente exitosas. Pero, lo mejor es que no es otra banda del montón, es una banda Underground, pionera en estilo glam, sonido punk y un sin fin.
