You are so right! And I want to apologize for how my question came across. That truly was not my intent when I commented “this way”. I am so very sorry, and I hope you can forgive my mistake and horrible phrasing. There is absolutely nothing wrong with you, and I very much admire you talking about being legally blind, as someone who is also legally blind. I was born with cataracts in my left eye, and as an infant had surgeries to remove it and to put in a prosthetic lens in that eye. Nonetheless, I am legally blind in my left eye. I asked my question because I was curious about your situation. I don’t know anyone else who is also legally blind, and I was comforted when I came across someone openly talking about it, so please know, I am very thankful you still answered question and going forward I will be better about the way I say things!❤️

@@bella6867 well thanks for watching my content! I'm totally fine with the way that you asked it. No hard feelings at all. I just wanted to clarify some better ways of asking that question. I'm curious how you ask people to ask you that question or how you navigate talking about your legal blindness. And I think it's amazing that our stories are somewhat similar with the cataracts. Please feel free to keep watching and keep sharing with the people around you and I hope that you find my channel to be helpful. Are you thinking about getting a service dog or anything like that at some point?

Thanks for responding! I don’t ever get the chance to talk about my blindness with those around me. Since I only had cataracts in my left eye that meant my right eye was just fine, so no one really, I don’t know the best way to say this but..I guess, cares? Because how can I be sad or have problems when I still have an eye that sees good? Although as time goes on, it seems gradually I’m losing vision in my right eye too. But im not totally sure if I’ll need a guide dog at some point, because I’ve learned to accommodate using one eye and I manage ok, but who knows? If I ever do though, I would totally love to have your advice on that. And I loved when you talked about the depth perception, I’ve never heard anyone talking about it, like some things are just hard to judge the depth of, but I always laugh when I still fall on the same stairs I’ve always known not seeing those last steps or when I’m trying to plug something in, things of that nature and I just keep missing😂! It really is nice to talk about this, like I said, I don’t ever talk about it and I find myself smiling just getting to have this conversation right now! So thank you! Your channel is super helpful!

@@bella6867 Absolutely! That's why I made this channel to reach people like you and help you feel not so alone and to encourage you and whatever dreams you want to achieve. I would highly recommend you watch some of my guide dog content and also if you want more information on progressive vision lots, I would go check out either Molly Burke or Pete Gustin. They are amazing and I think that they have more to talk about in that area of things. I don't think anyone really needs a guide dog per se, but I think that there are many people like me who benefit from one.

      Lots of love❤️

💭follow-up question: do you ever feel left out or in a middle space of not-belonging as a legally blind person? not completely blind but also not not blind?

That's a great question! I think the blind community is very inclusive. I just learned about the 2 different terms and I'm not entirely sure what that means for me but I feel like I totally belong in this community!
