The reason why we only have one color is because of the modular design adopted by XPROTO, the customer may upgrade his case through the upgrade module many times. We don't want to make our storage system too complicated.
But we will consider timing out some limited edition colors, although these limited editions may not be able to support later modules
Thank you for making such a high quality case! I bought one after seeing Optimum Tech's original video on it and have been very happy with it.
One thing you probably need are thicker standoffs for the middle part. Even with custom cables I wasn't able to fit everything in.
@@StaK_1980 We have a 30mm C-ZONE extender released recently.

Full Honesty - Your OG XProto video is why I subscribed to your channel and has dramatically realigned my future pc designs. Currently waiting on funds but the XProto will be my new case.- Would love to see some more videos on variations with their custom cooling pump bracket
Built one in November. No dust problems like with an enclosure. Super happy!
@@TruthClicks That is good to know, I have 2 cats and was afraid of excessive buildup
What GPU did you end up with?
Fe 3090. I had to mod the bracket a little to fit a triple slot because they had not updated yet. It’s some what hard to put together but totally worth it. You will not be disappointed.
@@TruthClicks how do you keep cable management clean with the top facing IO

I built a Xproto a few months ago and I find cleaning it to be so much more convenient. My components will realistically experience way less dust than if I left it in a closed case out of site out of mind.
Would love to see a flipped version of this case, with the ports on the botton instead of the top. And the custom loop ofcourse!
That original XProto build led me to eventually buy one myself. Been rocking it for roughly a month and it's my favorite case so far!
It is an awesome case it would be cooler if it came in different colors. Other than that I love mine this case will be hard to top
How did you handle the cables at the top? I'm on the fence of buying it, but I'm wondering how all my cables would look, definitely would use a USB hub extension
So glad your channel is getting the recognition it's always deserved.
fr fr ! i honestly like this channel much more than, e.g Jay or LTT
I'm glad you decided to come back to the Xproto. Your review is one of the reasons I ended up buying this case. I still love it 6 months later.
Commenting for the algorithm! Thoughts on a video about cable management? Your desk and setup are ALWAYS SO CLEAN!
I second this. I think you're more than qualified to give us some tips and tricks for cable management and just setup management stuff in general. Would love to see it!
I third this request! I’m picking up an NR200P soonish I think, to maybe replace my Core V1 - but either way I’d love some tips on cable management as currently mine is a *mess*

getting around this open plan case design, excellent video as always
Hi Mr president, do you know when he will be streaming next?
@@matysmazzolenitebb7111 i think he mentioned something a couple streams ago that he would be streaming Saturday which is today, but otherwise hopefully soon :)
@@1800Prez thanks
this case with a 240 AIO on the CPU and a 240 rad for the GPU (with an hybrid card like the EVGA one) would be sick AF
Water cooling the cpu and gpu, with 2-240s would look so bomb!
@@doggothedog7744 some nice dark opaque hardtubing would be really lit
or with a separate Mo-Ra radiator and pump, so to have only tubes on the case
Amazing quality as always!
Great video as usual! I think the perfect case for me would be something like this, but with the option to slide a tradition case shell over the top if you ever wanted to transport your PC - best of both worlds.
so excited for the custom loop build
Oh man that custom loop is gonna be killer
I love open frame cases, but I am just not a fan of all the cables coming out of the top.
And it makes gpu temps worse
I use 90⁰ cables that run down the center of the case, can't even see them coming out of the top.
I gotta tell you, top I/O is not as bad as you think. It's extremely easy to plug an SSD to the 10G USB ports without blindly reaching behind
Superior temps are worth it
Ok
It's such a unique case, I'd love to just... build on it for show, not worrying about performance. It's just so fun to look at when it's all done up
Love even some bigger open cases, like the Core P3/P5, but just as show pieces. The problems as main pcs are dust and cats!
I'm excited to see a crazy custom water loop in that case from you soon! Great video 🙏
Built one in January and absolutely love it, especially since I use it as living room PC connected to my TV
So awesome to see this. I just finished my build a week ago using this case. I love it
I'm a simple man, I see optimum cat, I click like.
I am so stoked when people can manage such great sleek desk setups! My monitor-Arm was already a game changer but I cant wrap my head around the overall aestetics!
Watching high quality videos always make me happy
Beautiful case, and sick build - no doubt. Back when the FormD T1 was facing production issues, my order was delayed and for a couple days I debated getting an XPROTO instead. I'm glad I didn't as many users have since reported having issues with GPU temps (ironic for an open case) in the upright orientation. Users reported much better GPU temps by simply laying the case on its side. Not sure if this applies to the FE, but my TUF3080 in particular would have been impacted. For anyone thinking about this case, may be worth taking into consideration
Oh I would love to see you do a full custom loop in the xproto!
Its worth mentioning the thermal issues with some GPU's due to the vertical layout (IO pointed up).
For example my 6800 has a 10C thermal difference between being stood up and having the case on its side.
That said really looking forward to seeing a custom loop from you!
I wish this could be talked about in the video, and tested out. I wish the case were the other way around, with IO pointing down. Maybe he can do a follow-up on this specific topic regarding this case. I see so many people mention the poor performance with a GPU in that orientation.
The only RUclips channel which i enjoy the most because of no ads on clicking ❤️
Thats how they make money my guy, idk why people are so upset with ads on youtube, no one does youtube for free, if you like the content you should support ads for the content creator.
I love the modularity of the case, the possibilitys are almost endless. These guys really outdone themselves.
If they did another follow-up to this case in the future, and made an outer casing that slide over the frame for an "enclosed version" similar to the Raw S1, that would be sick.
am i the only one that realllllly wants to see a matte black custom loop build w this?
Apparently they are a little bit slow for shipping, that's sad. I hope we can trust them because I discovered this pc case on your Chanel and I trust that you won't do ads for bad companies.
We need to see a custom loop! Salivating just imagining it.
Can we appreciate the quality of his videos 🔥
They just need to come up with some kind of cover that routes I/O motherboard wires down the back of the case and neatly out the back. That's all this needs to be a perfect build.
You just uploaded a video about Xproto the same day the Xproto-Mini has been released
Perfect "case" for that Barrow CPU Block/pump/res combo unit that's rotated 90 when used w/ AM4 and normal motherboard orientation.
I used this for a Ryzen 9500X build on the Gigabyte X570 I AORUS PRO WIFI board. Air cooled with a big Noctua NH-D15S cooler. Not pretty, but oh so cool and quiet and uncomplicated. It sits down on a side bench beside my desk, out of the way, so looks don't matter. At age 79, I care more for functionality and ease of maintenance. I love all those cables, neatly tied, coming in at the top so I never have to bend over trying to figure out what goes where down in the back where I can't see anything. Dust? All chassis get it, but this one will be easier to clean. I'll just pull the cables off, lift it over to my workbench and go at it with a blower. Nothing could be finer, IMHO.
Great video thanks again! Been a day 1 with Xtia. Love all the possibilities
Cant wait to see your watercooling expertise on this case!!!
Just heard on reddit that they're considering offering a shorter/half-height version and the picture provided was stunning. Def look into it if you haven't heard yet, OpTech
here I am commenting from my xproto ;)
one thing they still need to do is to let you swap the gpu backward so that nvidia reference cards can extract air from the case sandwich as it otherwise collects some heat, specially with air cooling. i modified my case and threaded new mounting holes to accomodate so its doable, but would be nice to come stock
note with the modification my 3080 tops out at 70C instead of 76C
I've had a open case for myself for a few month while I was building my ITX case. It is really an eyecatcher.
love the xproto! just pre-ordered the xproto mini & have my main setup in the original. going to look great sitting next this it's bigger brother!
I would like to add that, the shipping was slow but I got pc case. The downside of the pc case is if you use NVME SSD on the backside of the motherboard it will die within few months because of the heat generated by the graphic card.
I don't know how to protect the SSD in this part of the pc case ... already lost 2 TB of data because of that. I am moving to only one SSD but bigger and faster in the front side of the mother board.
I just built in the Proto L after seeing your last video. I really like it. Also enjoying your videos.
Do you think a 1080 ti would fit in that model? Not sure if the top opening for the card is too big, for say a 2 slot card
@@nesteaa6433 I currently have an Evga 1070ti ftw2. It has a lot of length room. It can take the large 3 slot cards on the L.
@@nesteaa6433 it does have a slot gap with the 2 slot card but secured with a bracket.

Can't wait for the watercooled build!
I can't wait to see a custom loop build 'in' this case
The reason I've always liked open bench systems, aside of the obvious things like cooling they are quick and easy to work in. Nice to see some nicer options for these.
Just bought the case yesterday thanks to this video and learning about the ATX pSU support!
I’m sure you can stand it on it’s side so all wires can be at the rear
Just did a build in an Antec Striker and love it, now if I could only find a new GPU instead of using my old one. These open style cases just have a cool vibe to them. I have a Corsair H100 mounted at the back and you can't hear anything, I did mount the tubes down though.
Great upgrades to an already beautiful case. I'd highly consider one if I hadn't already 3d printed my own open case design that accommodates my matx setup.
im happy again :)
another awesome video featuring Jam! :)
I constantly clean my hardware so, this is fantastic 👏
I plan on one of these as my first build. I just want something were I can aim a giant window fan to it. I don't really care about noise. Just max cooling. I'm taking the same account as when building boosted cars. The only thing that matters is cooling.
I get why someone would want an open case, because it can look pretty clean.
But hanging a fat AIO of it's side just ruins the aesthetics.
Eh I don't know, I think it actually looks pretty sick like an epic appurtenance.
Also dust
@@nahte980 - Nah, when it's upright like that the dust just falls off because the fans are moving it off. Far less dust on my gear compared to a closed case. It also makes is much easier to swap parts in and out which is something I do on a regular basis.
Those AIO tubes look quite messy.
Looking forward for the custom loop video. Keep up the excellent work @OptimumTech !
You almost sold me the XProto with your first video but it was sold-out, you sold me the NR200P instead. ;-)
I am currently running RTX3070 + R5600X + Crucial Ballistix + SF750w in the NR200P thanks to your 'Stealth 1440p gaming' video.
Thank you for the quality content !
I have one and it's a beauty!
but air cooling looks way better on the XProto
One major flaw is the power button is located on the gpu side.
Some of us are running cpu coolers with temp readouts so it'll be far more convenient if it was on the motherboard side.
Love the idea. Would also love to see the idea taken further and have magnetic attachable very porous sides to put on as one wants in case one wouild want to protect one or more sides. It shouldn't reduce airflow if made correctly. Loved the comment about it being an artpiece on ones desk.
im new to this channel . love it so far
I think the reason for the gpu thermal is not as good as the open test bench is because when gpu mount vertically heat pipes are working against gravity. I am using a xproto L now if I laying down my case, my gpu temperature will drop a couple of degrees.
Build looks awesome! Thanks for sharing this. Thumbs up!!
I wish they would swap the orientation of the case so the io is plugged into the bottom
it would make it painful to access but it's better than the tree of cables coming out the top :D
also I wonder if it would be possible to rotate the pump block 180 degrees to make the tube run cleaner
I was going to build in a nr200 until your first xproto review came out! I chose it for the smaller desk footprint and better thermal and noise performance. I don't need all that much portability. Also, I have a 3080FE on a normal xproto without the spine cutouts for the flow through cooler and my temps are identical to yours. I think the air is able to pass through the gap between the gpu and the spine just fine.
What are the odds of that! The day that you posted this video, my XProto N case arrived on my doorstep. Looking forward to building on it. I will be running a 5600x with aio and a sapphire 6800 XT nitro plus.. well, because I can.
1:02 CAT!
I was sceptical initually however looks alright after watching this, but agree needs more colors (Black/Silver/Red/White) for thematic builds (a new pure white build with this would rock).
Will be very cool to see a custom loop build using this case, something like your barrow cpu/pump combo
That thing looks rad!
Just ordered one to try it out, looks really good, been using a Louqe Ghost S1 for a while now.
Just a heads up for the one considering this case! Overall it’s beautiful although a little niche obviously. However, be aware their customer service is nonexistent. I’ve been trying to contact them for over a month now regarding my order and nothing. Such a cool product ruined by a lack of care for customers that don’t have an audience.
another content please that you hardline watercooled that beauty. it will look absolutely awesome and has the possibility of most viewed video. thank you
The cable mess I always have at the back of my case would annihilate whatever style points I gain from such a case...... :( That said, amazing looking case, particularly with the AIO on it.
I have this case with 280 z63 AIO..5900x, RTX 3080Ti...love it.
Pumped to see it in custom loop 😅
I bought the x proto because of your video. Damn that montage was sexy!
I'm now a proud owner of an X-proto L and I love it. It does come with a lot of fiddling around and absolutely NEEDS custom cables, but the end result is just stunning.
Also your worry of dust is imho not really an issue as you get a natural air flow over your components and... well you don't need a big hustle to clean it. You just blow on it. :-)
I use my Xproto with no cables on top because my thermaltake gaming desk has holes in corners. So i ordered display port extender with case and connect power cable exactly to power supply.
Tubes down on that AIO mount.
Love your content man! Especially the editing, it's sooo good. I'd be really interested in a video-editing tips video, just a suggestion :)
Just show us the full custom loop already!!!
Awesome video btw, I think this case is very good for people who live in hot countries with temps surpassing 50 C outside.
FE EKWB full custom loop would be sick in this.
Open frame is beautiful
I would love to see a version of Xproto dedicated for APU systems without external GPU and with SFX PSU. All that is needed is Xproto-Mini being a little higher so one could mount standard SFX PSU in place of external GPU and expensive and non standard FLEX 1U PSU.
thanks for your video, i bought it yesterday hope it looks good in my setup
Nice video as always and nice frame design. However, I think I can build a frame myself if I want an open build.
1:24 I see an Orichi V2 there, doing any reviews in it soon?
next!

Wow that case is pretty sick! I would just maybe flip that radiator upside down.
They need to make the center a bit more wide and put the Input panel in the back and the output panel in the front.
Another alternative is the Hydra open chassis from Italy - using for my test bench.
I did buy one myself after seeing your last review. I think they are awesome and also a good challenge to come up with something that looks really good wrt cabling.
AIO radiator and stock coolant lines destroy the symmetry and just grunge up the build! More effort is put into cabling in a closed case build than what is on this build where you can see the cables. But then its content!
Was a big fan until I realized the I/O situation. I hate visible periphery cables, if they can add some sort of shield/cover to hide/route the cables towards the back of the case I'd definitely buy.
Damn, I'm absolutely in love with this case dude! Amazing video as always
Just imagine accidently knocking over your 3090 FE....
The minimalism is amazing though. Love the aesthetic
I think this case would look epic with full RGB and full liquid cooling
Whole open glass would be good with it to.
I feel the pipe routing could look be better with the radiator flipped.
It will also put the top of the rad as the highest point of the loop rather than the connectors.
LOVE IT!
