Great tip thanks! I took it one step further and put some 1/2” foam backer rod inside to displace the air in the tube. It might not be necessary but it can’t hurt
I thought the problem is there the nozzle screwed on the tube. If in reality it's airtight enouth, there is no need to make any contraptions. Just buy two tubes and in the end of the first use screw uncut nozzle onto partially used tube. When you empty the first tube, you can use both cut and uncut nozzles on the second tube.
True, caulk tubes have come with screw-on nozzles fitted with snap-on caps, do a pretty good job of preserving any remaining caulk. The problem is that most caulk tubes have snip-and-squirt nozzles, with no way of resealing them. With that said, you're suggestion is an excellent tip, if you're buying caulk with screw-on nozzles. Very nice tip, i'm def going to use it. I bought those caulk condoms from aliexpress they did work but they tend to break and can be used a few times only. Lately I was purchasing extra tips for the tubes and just discrad the entire tip with solidified stuff in it
