AHHH this was so nerve-racking!! I've watched countless of videos like these and it feels crazy that it was now my turn to make one. Hope you enjoyed! Music: www.bensound.com
Asami Hamilton - Hume I’m in pre-IB rn and I know it’s not too hard yet but I mean there is more work and time-management is key. Enjoy ur time now lol. I hope Pre IB treats you well though!
I have now! Apparently, since I live in Sweden, I won't have to pay for remarking if my teachers can recommend that I get the subjects remarked which is nice 😍 Good luck!! Did you do pre-IB?
hey there, i am in HL art too, what was your theme, how was your PP and CS tasks? you see my situation is that i cannot paint anything, i cant draw, i am only good at the writing part of that course, which is the CS i have a 6 in it so far, but my PP is terrible haha. Could you tell me about your experience, if you want to it would be greatly appreciated, thanks so much, but also congrats!!!
Hi! Our school doesn't offer the best education for IB art in my opinion and so to get a good grade I had to do a lot of my own research. For example, our teacher never said we should have a theme to work around during these 2 years etc. which led to my PP, CS and Exhibition being about quite different things. However, for my PP I reused a lot of analyses and artworks from the CS and tried to connect it to what my PP was about overall which I really recommend!! Saved me from doing a bunch of extra work and made it possible to perfect the material that I did have. I also tried to incorporate a lot of the work I did for the exhibition in my PP. Overall, my theme for the CS was ”Loss of Self” wherein all the artworks I was analyzing displayed a disappearing figure and my Exhibition theme was the transition from a state of ignorance to enlightenment regarding environmental issues. My PP was a mix of both, trying to combine them in a way that made sense! What the examiners are really looking for, and find more important than technical skill, is a well thought out meaning and purpose behind each artwork, where every detail you include contributes to the overall meaning you’re trying to convey. So what I did before creating any of my artworks was to write down ideas and how I could communicate those ideas using specific colors, imagery etc. and to make very quick sketches. I did a lot of research online about symbolism etc. and I found that very useful! We will find out our grade for each assignment in a few weeks, and after we do I’m considering making videos about how to succeed in each assignment, walking you through my assignments slide by slide. So stay tuned for those videos for more detailed tips! Best of luck!
@@emmybackstrom9448 oh my, thanks so much for this helpful reply!! Sounds all good so far but I don't really have a well thoughtout theme and it's already been a year... Ooops
Oh well I definitely didn't have a theme one year in either so you'll be fine- just maybe keep it in the back of your mind moving forward with your assignments! ☺️
@@emmybackstrom9448 thanks so much, I first started with my own identity but then maybe rn I'm thinking about childhood as being my theme, I don't know. And it's really stressing me out
No problem, I think childhood sounds like an interesting theme and something you can do a lot with! Just having your own identity might be too general and vague, although I don't know because I don't know the way you're thinking of exploring it. I know someone who graduated last year who, for her exhibition, had the theme of a child's perspective vs. an adult's perspective on different things (inspired by her own experiences of how she sees things differently now vs when she was little). She didn't achieve very high marks, but that was because she did a quite superficial exploration of the theme as she focused mainly on how children vs. adults experience/see the different seasons (as in summer, winter etc.) and not on deeper things like how we view relationships etc. I think doing something around that, and going deeper than she did, might make an interesting and thought-provoking theme!
I’m starting IB this year rip 😔✌️ I’m a little bummed because my school has way less class options (also they took out math studies because nobody was taking it but I’m terrible at math so let’s hope I survive math analysis lol) but I still managed to get some classes that sound nice
That’s a tricky one! Don’t know if I can come with any original advice, but one thing I always do is clear the room I’m studying in from all distractions (like my phone and even computer if I don’t need it). Also, I set limits to my studying: like deciding I will study for no more than 2hrs or I will only finish this chapter. Otherwise, I get so overwhelmed thinking of how long I really should study or how much I have to left to finish that I end up doing nothing instead! A little bit is always better than nothing. Hope this helped, best of luck! 😁🤞
I actually felt like as an IB student we have the right to ask for remark, don't we??? ( Like when the situations comes to something like u just missed 1 or 2 points something😂 )
I actually haven't applied anywhere yet! I'm taking a gap year to do volunteer work and travel ☀️ If everything goes according to plan, I'll apply to schools this coming spring and start uni fall 2020.
Thank you! I'm seriously considering it, and if I do it'll probably be graphic design as I think I can better succeed in that field than as a fine artist.
Congrats from a pre ib person✨🎉💕

are you going to get a remark for the ones that are only 1 point away?
I hadn't considered it before, but I've started to now after reading Yazan's comment... 🤔

Oh, that sucks! What classes will you be taking?
I’m taking IB AND IM freaking out
Congrats.....new subscriber💛
did you do the IB in Sweden? I'm in Malmö!
Yes! I attended the most northern IB school in Sweden, in a small town called Bollnäs ☺️
Any tips you would like to give for students like me who are entering their senior year and are a very good procrastinator?

@@emmybackstrom9448 Thank you very much!
Congrats you did 🎶
Which School did you go to (high school)
I actually felt like as an IB student we have the right to ask for remark, don't we??? ( Like when the situations comes to something like u just missed 1 or 2 points something😂 )
where did you apply to? Did you get in?
I actually haven't applied anywhere yet! I'm taking a gap year to do volunteer work and travel ☀️ If everything goes according to plan, I'll apply to schools this coming spring and start uni fall 2020.
How did you not take Language B? I thought it was mandatory to 🤔🤔
If you have two native languages or are at a "native speaker level" in two languages, you're allowed to take 2 Language A courses instead :)
Are you going on to do art in uni? Btw congrats~
Thank you! I'm seriously considering it, and if I do it'll probably be graphic design as I think I can better succeed in that field than as a fine artist.
I’m 1 mark away from a 7 for at least 3 classes at MYP
