This gives me peace of mind about the lack of martial arts in Brandon's films. Especially the Crow. The fact that Brandon requested he do few action scenes and apparently had not been as interested in Martial Arts as was his father is at least an explanation for a lack of well choreographed fight scenes. With the exception of Rapid Fire.
Showdown in Little Tokyo, don't forget that and Kung Fu the Movie. Brandon didn't want them turning him into Bruce Lee 2.0. The crew members assumed that Brandon kept up with training but was so let down how he wasn't his father in that level, he didn't practice JKD till he met with Dan inosanto when he returned to states to prepare for Kung Fu the Movie. Ronny had said during his commentary with Mike Leeder on the Shout Factory edition DVD commentary if Brandon was allowed to have his own style like he did in Rapid Fire. Brandon would'ev done the Martial Arts more often without him having issues over it.
The media has treated Brandon very unfairly in those days, both in Hong Kong and in America. It's pretty sad cuz Brandon was capable of so much more than being just a dime-a-dozen action figure but then they just labeled him the latter anyway. "Because of being my dad's son... totally... soley being my dad's son, I've had the opportunity to be in a lot of stupid action movies I've turned down." It's also even more sad knowing that all of those "stupid action movies" lead up to The Crow where this is THE movie that Brandon was waiting for, for him to show his acting abilities and for people to take him seriously as an actor, would be his last movie that could have solidify his career. But at the very least, they would finally have gotten to appreciate him as an artist, than a martial artist, and he was able to make a name for himself outside his dad's influence. That's one of many reasons why, to this day, I am still one of Brandon Lee's biggest fans.
I totally agree. My sisters and myself are huge Brandon fans. He had such amazing potential. We were recently in his resting place and we really wanted to spend time in his grave showing our respect but this huge line of people were waiting behind us just to take a picture. So sad.
Honestly it must of been hard growing up as being Bruce Lee's son. But the fact that he denies his ethnicity is something I can't get over but I can understand as an Asian American. Always be proud of being chinese, never be ashamed just because there are assholes.

When did brandon deny being chinese?
Watch Rapid Fire, he’s proud of his heritage. He just wanted to be his own person
Brandon Lee era un súper actor con una personalidad y belleza arrolladora. El que habla mal de él está equivocado en hacerlo.
