Hey girl!!! I often struggle with this same concept because of different mindsets I’ve had for so long, but the best way to start the journey of forgiving ourselves is to know that God has already forgiven you. He knew every single choice we were going to make even before we made those choices. Nothing that we do takes Him by surprise, and yet He loves you so much. When we have a heart of repentance and turn away from our sin, that’s most important 🫶🏽. I once heard a speaker say that when we allow guilt and shame to take a hold on us, we’re trying to “pay for our sin,” which was super interesting to think about. But you know what’s even more beautiful? God has always done that. When Jesus went to the cross, He took all of that with Him. He became sin for us. The speaker also said that anytime we’re finding it hard to forgive ourselves, we’re telling Jesus that His sacrifice wasn’t enough, and I was so convicted because I didn’t even realize that! 🤦🏽♀️ But it’s true, we can forgive ourselves because Christ has done the work and we now have grace. You are so loved by Him. 💛💛 Romans 8:1 says “there is therefore now no condemnation to them which are in Christ Jesus…” meaning the enemy would love to condemn us for our mistakes, but as new creatures in Christ, condemnation has no place! We can walk in newness of life in Him! 💛💛
Also!! If you’re ever looking for online community of believers to encourage one another on this walk!! I have biweekly community zoom meetings where we just get on and chat and talk about the Lord!! They’re on every other Friday evening at 7pm CST! The link is in the description if you want to join in!! 💛💛🫶🏽🫶🏽🫶🏽😄😄
