Installing the game now and I had rewind the video to make sure I heard it right when you said "Yea 15mins of backdash practice a day and you'll get it down in about a week"
Just bought it from this years summer steam sale. Watching 2022 ceo just had me interested in fighting games in general. This is someone that is coming from smash
Perfectly put man 👍. I hate the people that do the same move over n over but when you fight someone who is fairly good like you said it becomes an entirely different game 🤙
40 years old, haven't Tekkened properly since Tekken Tag and I was a scrub even then; I just thought I wasn't. Been getting into 7 and I've only just begun to realise how ridiculously high the skill ceiling on the game is. Sighs, goes off to kbd for 15 minutes
Just got the game for 6 bucks after watching a streamer of mine play it. Haven't played since Tekken 5 and that was a very casual playthrough. Hoping these help me excel as a player. Thanks for the tips!
I just downloaded the game not too long ago, and it’s funny how some high rank players in Quick match’s , notice my rank and give me “an advantage” , but little do they know a lot of characters still have some same strings/combos . Picked up my Lei Wu Long , came out winner in a few matches . Lol I missed this game glad I’m back
I like neutral game and 1 jab advice ;P, I think it combines with practice/lab advice. IMO (well it is character dependent in this example) being consistant with mist step (Lee) + regular dashes is way more important then being consistent with canceling dashes this way (Korean backdash). (Lets rewrite it. being consistent with any character movement + dashes pays back more then technique that will not pay back until you rly get good at it :P. Unless you play JUST FINE character and does not have multiple movement stances like steve for example) THANK YOU MR CONTENT CREATOR :D HOPE You hit 10k soon enough O:D
Really helpfull. You have explained the major facts that put you in the winner situation. Obv im a beginner too, and im studyng the game more slwoly know, i'm doing fine and slowing the pricess will make me reflect more and learn more since i have nothing to prove alas, fear of an opponent growing his skills, is not a fear per sé, it's a child poking
I'm new to this game and I got completely lost, sadly this video didn't help either, I catched very little of what was said, I hope to be able to revisit it on the future, any guide you can suggest for completely noob?
You could watch the ultimate Beginner's guide on youtube. If you're not familiar with tekken whatsoever then you'll want to come back to this video once you've at least gottena little familiar with the game. These are techniques you can use to make things easier once you actually learn the very basics of the game
For example, when I do kaz's f+4, I'll be at an advantage of 4 frames over the opponent. If i do a jab i will be at a 1 frame advantage instead. Hope this makes sense
Well this is when research, in-game punishment training, match up knowledge and experience come into play. The more time you spend going through every move of every character the better you'll get in dealing with their shenanigans. Then of course you'll have to apply that training by fighting against them. Learning characters you're having trouble with is also an effective way of gaining match up knowledge
fighting games are like homework. Thats why i only ever ever desire to become maybe a 5/10 skill wise. Familiarity with every mechanic and only mastering one or two major ones. THat way i can play with casual friends and nerf myself just a bit or i can get the occasional win against actual good ppl who i know
2:30 why do beginner strategies require intimate knowledge of every character's move set? I'm expected to know the inputs for every move and string I get beaten with?
You don't need to get through every single move. You can start with the punishment training. And if there's a specific move that seems to always give you trouble, try figuring ways to counter it in practice mode. Also playing against match ups you find tough, is also a good way to learn the game. It's not all in practice mode. I know it's a tough game, but once you break that first skill barrier you'll start to enjoy it much more
It isn't a beginner strategy, it's a very long term goal that is incredibly powerful at most levels of play. It isnt about learning every move in the game. What matters is learning what you're struggling against. Figuring out what move your opponent is using is hard for all of us at first and none of us know what every move is but your mental database will grow. Wish you the best bud but if you let it upset you you'll improve much slower.
1 is square (left punch) 2 is triangle (right punch) 3 is X (left kick) 4 is O (right kick) I do assume that most people watching this video already know these. So hopefully this helps you understand what I mean a little more
I don't get it. I've been banging my head against the wall with this game. Even in casual matches the other players just seem to know how to counter and punish absolutely everything. I don't understand why I don't automatically have all the knowledge that every other player automatically has.
They don't automatically have it. They either slowly earned it just like you'll have too or you're misunderstanding when you're getting punished. Very few players short of intermediate level punish absolutely anything. It will never be easy and there's always more to learn but you'll improve each and every week you try your best.
@@freelikeojallday7543 yo im new, where do you recommend? I've been hopping into casual online and tbh it isn't too bad, usually I get rekt but sometimes I fuck em up
I can prepare a video about when to press in basic situations. But you need to keep in mind that this will change with every match up. But that's an interesting idea I can make a video about the fundamentals of when to press buttons.
Cheers man. I started tekken a few days ago and having a blast. Would you say DLC characters are worth buying? Im maining kazumi right now but I might switch one day
Well it depends on who you like. I would never say use a character because they're the best, use what you find cool and fun and you'll definitely be playing better if you're having fun or if you think the character is cool in terms of aesthetics, fighting style or whatever other quality you find appealing about them.
0:29 Movement

You'll get it down in a couple of weeks. But that being said it'll take quite a bit longer to master for sure
Set a timer 15 minutes straight of backdashing practice is longer than you think I just did it
It only took a minute or so for me to start being able to spam backdashes so I could see in a week's worth of practice the input could become smoother
That rage combo at the end tho. Love it.
Makes my day to hear, thank you!
in short: No matter how good you think you are, you are shit. God I love Tekken
lol
Unless you are knee or arslan
Had me at back dash. That movement is crazy. Great video!
Glad you enjoyed it!
God we really need a tutorial mode in tekken
Just bought the game since it's on sale through PS Summer Sale '21.
Thank you for this video! Learned a lot. 🙏
coming from dragon ball fighterz and seeing db n b made my brain go “so instant air dash but upside down” 💀

I grew up with playing Tekken on console for the arcade mode. When I was a teenager, I played Tekken online and wasn't even able to move 😂

@@magicpixelgaming2436 what is the meaning of frame advantage at "punishment" point?

@@magicpixelgaming2436 f+4? Is that keyboard controller?
No that's terminology for the inputs, 1,2,3,4 for the attack buttons and f, b, df, db, etc... For the directional inputs.
How do i know what my opponents combo is if ijust started? I keep getting absolutely destroyed by one tricks

Feels a little advanced for a beginner like idk what 3 and 4 even means
1 is square (left punch)
2 is triangle (right punch)
3 is X (left kick)
4 is O (right kick)
I do assume that most people watching this video already know these. So hopefully this helps you understand what I mean a little more

Considering buy Tekken definite edition (19.9) or mk11ultimate (14 usd). Pls advice!
Definitely Tekken! Thank me later, enjoy!
So as a beginner explaining the buttons that need to be pressed, when and how a little more would be more helpful
I can prepare a video about when to press in basic situations. But you need to keep in mind that this will change with every match up. But that's an interesting idea I can make a video about the fundamentals of when to press buttons.
The thing that's loosing you the match is NOT HAVING A PLAN.
There is no way people are sliding on the floor with there characters like that without an Arcade controller. SMH
Korean back dash don't just call it back dash
😎
Not every character has a universal 1 jab, that's false information.
What do mean by the numbers? Like what does 3 4 for mean?
1 = square
2 = triangle
3 = X
4 = O
for beginners? literally didnt understand a thing here ^^
