I just started making my hills for my layout and decided to get a refresher on this. I don't know about other places, here in the States we get milk in plastic gallon containers. I rinsed a few of them out and cut the bottom off of them to use for things like this.

    Thank you RAILstuff
This was really clear and made the process simple. I appreciated your pacing and honest/practical directions. My son and I are working on his first landscaping project and I wanted to try out plaster cloth. Your tutorial made it easy. If we make a video with our project in the next couple of week, I'll be sure to tag your channel.

Shop around for this stuff. They come in different widths and lengths. Since it can be cut to size, it doesn't really matter how wide it is.

Amazon has 4 rolls 6” wide 15 feet long (60 feet total or 18 meters) for $15 (12 British pounds)

Hobby Lobby - same size roll as his $3.29 ( the ONLY reasonably priced item in the entire store😂)

    Hallelujah brother Hallelujah.
I have just tried to make a hill about 1 meter x 400 mm. I made a polystyrene form and used air dry clay. At the moment it's almost dry but it's full of bloody cracks. It seems clay shrinks , plaster expands. I guess it's take 2 now.
