The Fact That we even have AI Restaurants is incredibly insane and scary at the same time
Mostly scary 😅
Guys don't give your money to AI or big companies, instead support small local businesses. Supporting small local businesses helps the whole society. And just think about how many people and families will lose their income if we give AI our money, that's really really sad.
So true, and yeah, mostly scary 😅😅
Imagine an AI dentists.. AI welders.. AI teachers.. AI heavy equipment operators..
I'm your biggest fan 🎉🎉🎉🎉
They should’ve had Roni try to pay by face and see if it would’ve let her use Nessa’s account.
I will say that this kind of stuff does not help with unemployment rates specially for younger people working to pay for schooling etc.
Identical twins ordering from the same place?? I can see how this can become a problem especially with paying by face I smell a flaw
i think there would still be some sort of passcode. face would just be a form of identification for the ai, so you dont need to carry an actual card
The paying was most scary haha
Yeah, I would have walked out. 😂
@@MYFAVORITES5Same. I am not giving anyone my biological property.
I know now that robot has Vanessa face who knows what they will do with her face .. this is just scary 😬😬
The thing thats scary about robot AI is a robot doesnt need a lunch break, doesnt need sick days, doesnt need time off.... Its the "perfect" worker. So many people will lose their jobs in a few years.
That low key sounds dangerous ngl

Yeah, they showed there face like, ummmmmmm creepy
What happens if someone gets food poisoning or something?
What happens if someone gets food poisoning or something?
the robots in the resterant are not AI as theyre not making their own desicions, but just following inputs and orders programed into them, similar to microwaves (stop when timer runs out) or machines in factories that push and pull. if they were AI they would be thinking for themselves (eg. making new recipes, experimenting with timings and seasonings, stopping when food is too hot...)
They all follow orders that humans make
I agree
Thank you. Every time they were saying AI I was super confused and I was like I’m pretty sure this isn’t AI. 😅
Yeah I think they just used the concept of ‘AI’ as a selling point. I see brands do this a lot nowadays, using ‘AI’ as a catch all term for robot/cgi/machines.
Thank you, I was thinking the same thing. But mostly I was thinking about the fact that this isn’t even necessarily new 😅 I worked at McDonald’s in 2009 and the patties & buns were put into a machine that cooked them & the humans just put the burger together. The only difference I see, is the robot arm being the one that puts it into the machine 🤷🏻♀️So I was disappointed when I saw that it’s still the humans that are putting the burgers together.
This restaurant is definitely using the illusion that they’re using something new & modern, when it reality it’s not 😬
Btw no hate to the Merrell twins at all, I love their videos. I just think, like them, many people are being fooled into thinking that some things are “revolutionary” by using “AI” as a selling point, as you said.
Still a fun video! ✨🫶🏼
I don't like the whole "link your face to your bank account". 😫😧
nessa demolished her burger 😂
She did say she was starving 😅
I feel like maybe since John follows that weird natural diet and it doesn’t fill nessa up so she’s always hungry and that’s why she has stayed so skinny and unhealthy 😓
I love that you guys went here and showed everything! It doesn't really feel like an AI restaurant to me, because the machines that are doing the cooking look like basic food factory equipment. Kind of like when you go to Lone Star and see the machine that cooks and presses the tortillas but then a person has to assemble lol
Yeah,lol
Thats what I was thinking too
nessa feeling bad for the robot made me so sad even though robots don’t have feelings 😂
It’s all good and fun until servers like me are out of a job because you can make your order on a tablet and have a robot cook and serve your food…. Like that restaurant from Sam and Cat 😂
Whattttt!! Now karens won't be able to say that there is a hair in my food 😂
Imagine karen saying "call your manager" and it's just optimus prime from Transformers coming out of the back kitchen 🤣🤣
The pedestrian they interviewed from the restaurant looked like a twin of Paul Merrell 🤣
This is so bad in so many ways. Not good. The restaurant knows everything about you now. Not right.
Robots can be set up to perform most physically repetitive tasks where the objects or substances it needs to work with are predictable and consistent. No A.I. required. Where an A.I. or human manager/controller comes into play is "exception handling", e.g. when something isn't placed where or shaped how the robot is programmed to expect it, so someone or something needs to adjust either the placement or the robot's aim... or if Vanessa shows up by herself and the face-scanner for some reason insists that she's Veronica (or vice-versa). Boston Dynamics has a truck unloading robot that is run by an expert system that's really good at analyzing the layout and markings of packages in a truck and determining how to unload the boxes onto a conveyer belt, but that's a few generations of machine-vision and control software ahead of what something like Flippy would have. That said, once Flippy's supply vats are filled, almost everything from dispensing ground meat onto the griddle by volume or pre-cut fries into the deep-fryer basket by weight, through serving, can be blind-automated...
The main reason to have human sandwich assembly is probably the vegetables. Onions, tomatoes, and mushrooms are going to have variable sizes and sometimes shapes, onions need to be peeled before cutting, and both onions and tomatoes can too readily fall apart once sliced, though onions that are chopped instead of sliced can be vat-dispensed by weight or volume like ground meat or pre-cut fries. Shredded lettuce can likewise be vat-dispensed by weight or volume, but whole-leaf lettuce can't, and lettuce leaf shape and behavior is variable in ways that humans are good at compensating for and machines are not. A burger place trying for a higher-end impression is going to use sliced rather than chopped onions (or offer both options) and whole-leaf lettuce.
If you're getting chicken rather than a burger, cooking solid rather than ground pieces of meat can get even more variable than the lettuce or veggies: open up a package of raw chicken breasts or thighs or of frozen breaded or grilled fillets and no two pieces will be the same size, some may have been folded back on themselves, and the cooking has to compensate for that.
It’s not really AI, it’s just machines following programmed inputs. Thank goodness for that, I’m not ready for AI just yet
Ai gonna take over the world but they can't take over the fun watching merrell twins vids
Skynet
Can you gugs do a vid with John and aaron pls... missing the old days when you did those videos!
yes!!!!!!!
I honestly don't get the hype about this restaurant. It's not like the robot creates something on his own that's ai and oddly unique and chance of failure. It's just sad and like the machinery that makes the packaged processed food you get at grocery stores. The meat and fries are already mixed and measured and the robot precisely programmed to flatten the meat to mm precision, time to cook/fry meat/fries, and the screen sends the exact order information. Nothing new really except that grocery food machinery is replacing human work, human interaction, custom instructions, and just making those places seem colder. I did enjoy this video itself though as I haven't heard about it and it's always great seeing you guys.
Flippy cost $30,000 plus $1500 upgrade fees per month, still cost less than paying a full crew to cook but repairs and upgrades are going to be an issue within a few years.
the swapped names at 0:20 😂❤❤
The fact that we can now literally say that your face card never declines 😭
How do identical twins pay with their face? 😅 What if it uses the other’s account?
Woahhhhh never thought of that
They don’t actually look exactly they same though. They have unique differences. Sure they look similar, but they aren’t 💯 the same.
LOL RONI AND NESSA HATING THE FOOD BEFORE THEY EVEN TASTED IT!
This is why mental health problems such as social anxiety will only worsen because people don't need to interact with other people. I really struggle in social situations to interact with humans without panicking but i know the more i run away from my problems, the worse they will get.❤
Face recognition is a no-no for me as long as I can help it. And for a robot making the burger, $10 is still expensive. I know it's LA but that should be a few bucks at most.
Edit: actually that's more meat than I anticipated.
I loved the pedestrian interview. 😂😂❤❤
I love all of the merrell twins they always make me smile
That review about replacing workers earning $20 an hour, with no skill, was so tone deaf. Employees are grumpy from being overworked and underpaid.. interesting video though!
Walmart’s here have self check outs and only two employee lanes. This is where the future is going
The way she cried ❤😂
Omgggg amazing content every time!!! Love you nessa and Roni💖💜 missed the stream last week but never stop what your doing ❤
Nessa’s face card never declines
Now the question is.. what kind of meat is that? With Cali feeding y’all lab grown meat. 😂😂😅😅
When you can't cook but is good at programming and computer stuff😅🤣🤣
Adorable! Nessa chewing her burger not caring what was said😂
Missed opportunity: You should have had Roni try to pay with her face lol
I am not feeling well today, but as soon as I saw this, as always you made my day! Love this video love you guys
merrell twins always finds a way to make our days 1000x better. Love yall and see yall on members ❤❤
People are talking about how you have to use your face to pay but doesn’t Apple Pay make you use your Face ID?
Nessa's before thoughts are REAL
i love your guys' videos! i look forward to them every week! I NEED new merch from you guys!
The restaurant reminds me of Sam and Cat where they had a robot led burger shop called "Bots"
I will never go to an AI restaurant 🙈. It's so scary and I feel like I would be contributing putting people jobless. And I like interacting with people too.
The algorithm sent you to this video. AI is already in our lives. 😢
Amazing video as always, you two.
You guys have the best videos ever. My twin sister and I love these kind of vlogs! 😀😀😀
I love your video, so glad for you guys ate at the world first ai restaurant in California, so cool to see the robots!❤
I always look forward to watch your videos after school
Roniii and nessa look so pretty ❤❤🥹
This is where we need to think and decide where to draw the line with AI. Personally, I think it should be there to help humans be more efficient and not replace humans.
I would visit an AI restaurant if it opens in my area. I wonder what robotically made food tastes like. Robots are replacing humans to become new staff members!
Already made my day this is so amazing love yaa guys🫶🏼🥰
Love you guys as always 🫶🏻
My mood booster ❤
I think it was an interesting idea of making a robot-operated restaurant. I do feel like technology is coming pretty far in what it can do. But at the same time, I don't like the "pay by face" thing. That seems a bit creepy and dangerous to me.
This video was legendary, love the, we outside aspect .... please continue with similar ideas 🫰🫰
Touch-screen kiosk ordering is likely to become more prominent over time. Been seeing it as an option for the grocery store deli department even before the pandemic; it cuts down on waiting in line. A touch-screen doesn't work for folks with vision issues or disabilities that affected their hands. Voice-reactive systems will likely be added to the kiosks at some point. That said, a lot of folks may have issues with facial-recognition payment. A lot of the facial-recognition systems have poor accuracy with darker faces, and the need to make an account may be a deal-breaker for some. Cash-handling is unlikely to be added at this point, but card- and phone/watch-payment systems are a different matter.
The lack of seating may be from an intent, or at least an expectation, to have most of their service be take-out rather than sit-down. The space was large, so maybe they'll add more seating over time if folks actively make use of it and they get complaints about the lack... or maybe they'll add a second production line to double their production capacity when business picks up.
The way you both said "Eeeeeeeeeeew" made me laugh lol 😂
but like thats probably gonna happen at some point in the future if we have the right technically.....💀😲😐..
This is so interesting! But loved the vid 😊
Like many pointed out, i personally wouldn't support this sort of business as i would perfer interacting with people and i do believe it reduces employment though humans are still involved.
I’m always happy when the twins post ❤❤❤
This is scary like people creating AI companies, i eather support small local business run by real humans, i kiss back on the days sometimes where they were no electronic
$10 for a burger!?
that food looks amazing and if you think about it like a robot cooked it im kind of scared of robot's now because of how smart they are now
If Ai takes over the jobs, how will people... "now" unemployed... be able to buy the products and services 🤔
yayyyy our consistent queens posted
That would have werid for me
Tomorrow my driving license test..😭 Wish me luck
too scared
Hope you do great!
You girls always put a smile on my face!!💖💜
As much as I'm rooting for it being more sanitary and safe for fast food kitchens, the thought of robots replacing humans in fast food kitchens does not sit well with me at all. Most young people work at fast food places as their first jobs, so many people need those jobs and it's so sad to think they would be thrown out for a robot. Also the paying by face thing is TERRIFYING!!! Imagine if that becomes a common thing and hackers can start hacking into your cameras and using your money😨
These twins are incredible
In your intro the names under your faces were opposite - Nessa had Roni's name and Roni has Nessa's name.
That’s because there are usually on the opposite side and the name thing is pre made
Love your videos!
The intro with the names 😂
Guysss !! I LOVE YOUR Channel ❤❤❤❤ SO SO SO SO SO much merrell twins I wish I was your twin❤❤
Super happy video Veronica & Vanessa! 💜💖
Totally was!
You guys are always amazing. Well done ❤️❤️❤️😎😎😎
This video kind of shows how there is a lot of ai stuff that is just pretend right? The Ai restaurant where a human worker instructs you how to use the "self" serve kiosk, a human worker puts your burgers together, and a human worker hands you your food. But AI (a machine following a simple programmed routine) did some of the cooking. Its like saying AI made your food in a restaurant because the oven and stove tops are machines.
so we can print a photo of Nessa to get free food from the restaurant?? her face pays !!!
"Flippy" is a brilliant name because people think it's cute so can't be bad - it's literally just a machine! 😁 It works, this whole video they refer to it like a 'friendly' robot. I think they should rename AI Military Drones and Missiles as well - 'The Happy Traveller' - 'Gavin the Game Changer' - 'Let's Go Party'... would make the world news so much more fun. 😏
This video is awesome!!
Day idk what to get ron to answer where her bag is from 😭😂
Love your videos💕💜
Paying with your face isn’t good for your privacy. I would definitely turn that down.
As much as I hate AI started taking over, I don't think this is more of an AI restaurant but more like and advanced version of the order machine in some fast food restaurants. Because from what I've seen the AI only records on what you ordered and then tell the kitchen and chefs to cook your order. That's why calling it it's more of a stretch. Honestly a really good way to help some business grow, as everything is still being run by a human.
I'm curious about whether or not the face recognition would have let Roni payed with her face instead
This vid was so much fun 🤩
I love u guys so much ur the best youtubers ever
I LOVE WATCHING YOU GUYS
(1:01) LET’S GO GET AI MADE BURGERS- EWW!! 😂😂🤣🤣
It seems like a strategy to take your identity having to scan your face, payment etc
I feel like this is so scary and cool at the same time ❤
AI IS TAKING OVER GUYSSS also have u seen the ai robots that do your nails??
yeah I wouldn't be surprised if eventually they get a second robot who will have the job of assembling the food, and maybe even one that hands the customer their order.. it would be more impressive, but also scary haha
Still really expensive for not having any human workers.
I love the merrell twins I swear💖
Love u girls keep it up ❤️❤️❤️
“Welcome to the Café ‘80s - where it’s always morning in America, even in the after-n-n-n-noon!”
