There's a lot of misinformation here. Guilds were never built in Elizabeth, NJ. They moved the factory from Hoboken, NJ to Westerly RI in 1968-69 where they remained until the late 90's, early 2000's I believe. The company was purchased by Fender in 95 and it kind of all went slowly downhill from there imo. They did have an administrative office set up in Elizabeth though after the factory moved to Westerly, RI. They never produced any guitars there. It's even stated on the label that you show in this video.
I noticed the same. Also “ most” Guilds were NOT arched back. The D25 and , I believe, the D30? The rest were standard flat back guitars. I’d rather people DONT give information than to give out incorrect, or poorly researched info…
Wow. Super buzzy, almost tinny. Not normal for that model and year. Maybe the action was just set too low? Cool playing though. And helpful video. Appreciate it. (Havnt read other comments yet. Will do now…)
Old Guilds were such great guitars. I would love a D-40 or a D-50 from the 60s or early 70s.
I have an ‘82 and a pick just lights this thing on fire.. strumming machine
