  • Natural Hairstyle: The Bantu Knot Out on 4c Natural Hair
I recorded a flat twist bantu knot out a year and a half ago and never posted the video. I looked over it again a few days and remembering why I never posted it I immediately started feeling grateful and happy. In this video "This Nap Life" video I give you a lesson in which your 4c hair will always give you the best.

I learned that my hair is not the same as someone else's in the videos I watch lol. I learned that the hard way when I did a Bantu knot out. But now when I do it my way, my hair is popping 👏🏾👏🏾. All 4C is not created equal lol (that goes for other hairstyles)

Can I just say BEAUTIFUL! Look at the movement on that thing Honey, and the definition. I have no idea why you didn't like it. But I understand (I think). Am I the only one who is subscribed to ONLY 4c textured RUclipsrs whose texture is just like mine? Texturism? Maybe, but it keeps me grounded.

+Nappy Fu that's exactly what I mean. Like - this person gets it. She knows the struggle, so I can listen to her. And whatever results she gets, I can reproduce.

I appreciate everything you said. Our hair is beautiful! It's important to learn to love our hair. Our hair may not look like another's and you're right--it's not supposed to. Very encouraging!

Yes, to letting go of the expectations regarding the outcome of styles that you are doing based on someone else's results. Thanks for reminding me of this fact. I would add growth expectations based on the growth rate of many here on RUclips. I don't care what the average rate of growth is, you may not be the average. So let the expectations go and just let your hair do what it do.

Your hair looks very good to me in this bantu knot out tutorial. I like the technique you used for creating this style. I am also 4c hair type I've worn my hair natural three years now still counting. Watching this video has inspired me to finally do a bantu knot out using your same technique. Thank you Nappy Fu.

The results came out cute girl! & The one thing that I learned in my journey was to leave my hair alone. My hair thrives better in protective styles instead of leaving it out. This is just what works for me.

  • @1GoldenBreeze

I know this is an older vid, but there's still a couple things that I learned around this time. I learned that my brain and my hands not tryna work together for a flat twist or a cornrow. Nope not happening, and I refuse to have to cut out chunks of tangles like that one time when I tried to learn. smh I also learned that my hair isn't 4c no matter what I thought or was told. Its amazing how many people think that putting a styling product on wet hair changes its type. It was only after watching true 4c girls do their wash and go's that I realized I really was not a "loser textured 4c", like what!?! I now know that means your hair is a 4a or 4b. Lawd the stuff people say, and truely believe.
What were you thinking. Your hair was gorgeous! Glad you mind caught up to your hair. LoL

I absolutely agree with you what you talked about on your video what I have learned all 4c natural hair is NOT ALL THE SAME!".. so you try different natural hairstyles and if it come out the way that it comes out that's just the way your hair is some hair products may work for 4 C hair and some don't everybody's 4c hair type is different thumbs up on the video:-) keep up the good work on your success

I am transitioning and experimenting right now. I know I have 4c hair and am working on the moisturevand finding the products that will work best for me. Your videos are the ones I relate to the most. I have to get back into the habit of actually doing my hair again. I was the queen of ponytails or just bumping the ends. I am going to try bantu knots this weekend. Wish me luck.

I do love this style. Very cute and I did the EXACT same thing. It took me almost a year to realize tha my hair is different from the natural vlooger I was watching/fixated on at the time. I also had to come to grips that just because someone is natural the same amount of time as you does not mean your hair will grow at the same rate. I'm still have to remind myself of that one :/

I learned my 4c hair is protein sensitive so I stopped using products with protein in them. Now my hair is happy and flourishing. My hair would grow fast and thick but keep breaking and knotting up when I washed it, and I didn't know why. But with prayer and trying different products, I finally found my holy grail. I've been natural for about 5 years now and just found out my perfect natural hair routine last year. Natural hair definitely takes time and patience

I think your hair looked great! For more stretch do a 2 strand twist and bantu knot the twists. You can also hairpin the bantu to the opposite side of your head or try using hair ties and put them in ponytails overnight. These all have worked for me. Hope it works for you. XO!

  • @NinaLady11
    @NinaLady11 8 лет назад

Mine comes out just like yours did. I've learned to look forward to second day hair, that's when I get the most volume and stretch. I only get three days of wearing my hair out before I have to re-twist. And, my hair doesn't like to be fluffed or separated so I have to make smaller sections if I want definition and wear the twisted bantu knots for at least a whole day to make sure it sets correctly. If not she is going to frizz immediately.

I flat ironed my hair thinking my hair was going to be fine and I got a little heat damage in the back and I thought it was from not having the right heat protector. Then for my birthday I got it flat ironed again and I got severe heat damage it was so bad it looked like I was stretching my relaxers so now I learn the my baby (my hair) can't take that kind of direct heat. So a couple of months ago I cut most of heat damage off, all that I could see and i started styling my hair like I did before the damage but for some reason my nape area wouldn't curl and so I kept cutting it thinking it was just the ends but it's not it is damaged all the way to the root so I have decided to get a undercut so I can grow it back out healthy and strong.
