- End of Coding? ChatGPT AI Creates Full Website with One Click. The new ChatGPT AI allows you to ask it anything and will return a response based on your input. It can be any questions about life or you can tell the AI to write out code like shown in my video.
What do you think this means for the future of developers?

That was mind-blowing back then.
Just look how things have changed in 25 years, now think where AI will be in 5-10 years.
Humanity is not prepared for what is coming.
And to think we're the initial creators. We're so afraid of what tech can do but yet we're giving it all the capabilities😮
yes a lot of people will die, maybe all people.

My brother told me about it yesterday, and it is damn good. Might have to choose a different career path like construction worker.
I wrote a working Python program to compress images by increments to a certain size for a certain dimension. It works great. I'm a designer and not a programmer. I've never written Python but have always wanted to. I have written enough Frontend and javaScript code to read what the code is doing. I could tell some of the code was not very efficient. But a few changes of the wording it produced efficient and useful code. Seems like a great way to learn after knowing the basics. Seems very powerful if you have deep coding knowledge already.

Dont see how its any different from using someone’s source code and adjusting it to your liking. This has been around for years and yet web devs are still very much relevant. STOP WITH THE FEAR-MONGERING!
well coding is just one feature, there's some crazier use cases I've seen with this AI that's not even code related and the more it improves we will see some really crazy stuff in the near future on what is possible

I think that eventually AI will be used to create and modify applications in nearly real-time. A person will create a new application by simply describing its desired initial appearance, behavior, etc. the initial application could be very simple. Then the designer could describe new features to the AI. The AI would make changes to the underlying code (perhaps in an iterative fashion) until the desired behavior is achieved in the application. The designer can feed text, images as inputs to the AI as a way of describing desired behavior and appearance.
currently what I am doing with chatgpt 😏
I keep asking it to improve on the code i.e add sample css, media etc and at one point it kept sending incomplete code. But this is just amazing. If you already have experience developing apps, this might help you build things in way less time. Do you think it will replace Google search or stack overflow with time?
well I read there's an even crazier version that is supposed to come out sometime in the future so if it's even close to what they predict then it will be insane
You can say "continue" and it will give you the rest of your code
@@JohnyFirst ok thank you. I did not know that.
As you said it can replace google or Stack overflow, but I don't think it will replace programmers
@@SipChai it will
Any text-based application will be significantly supported, but the migration of AI to physical reality is another issue. I still wait for self-maintained home appliances.
Please, remember. ChatGPT has a character limit! So second time you requested a website layout with navbar, it couldn't continue. You can say "Please, continue." And it will show the rest of the code.
This might work for simple CRUD apps, but once you get into more complex apps, these code generators don’t stand a chance. Many business requirements are not logical, they’re illogical and have many exceptions- especially when you get into something like payroll. If you’re only into simple web apps, you do have something to worry about.
useful things is this can be the first place to finds code solutions instead of stack overflow in the future.
Sure. What you say stands true for this iteration of the ai. But I don't think you'll have the same attitude a couple years down the road. The idea that you are so smart that you can do stuff that a superbrain wouldn't be able to figure out is delusion on the highest scale.
@@Icedanon I don’t even see how this tool is really that necessary. If you want to automate code generation for simple CRUD apps, you can do that now, and have been able to for some time, especially if you’re building backends with Java or C#.
The problem with these AI tools is that outcomes need to be predictable, and most business requirements (at least from my experience) are not predictable at all. I just don’t believe you can automate that.
Unless businesses can have clean and logical business requirements, you’re not going to be able to automate that- at least within our lifetime.
@user-sl6mg6ih1k maybe your arguement would carry more weight if you could narrow down on exactly what part of your job you think these ai won't be able to do. Then we could assess together whether ai will get there. Don't be so vague as unpredictable business plans. Because from what I've seen, ai can deal with unpredictability better than humans in a lot of cases.
@@Keith-uu4iu thinking about what you said more, I think you may underestimate what this thing is. It's a language model first and foremost. Interpreting the unpredictable requests is what it does best. We don't even need to wait for that part to be a reality.

I've stressed chatgpt in the last few days. it's impressive but it flat out gets things wrong half the time believing contradicting concepts or hallucinating and answer that you would never see on stackoverflow. maybe I'm just asking it more challenging and interesting questions than most.
A.G.I Will be man's last invention
Doubt.
Will it work in the production as business requirement😁
I worked on theoretical AI programming in the early 2000s and what we see today marketed as "artificial intelligence" is mostly advanced scripting with indexed libraries. This demonstration was more of an exercise in automating a search for basic code structures with some variables (i.e., "Siri, find me a basic web template for a pizza restaurant"). Clever, but not yet replacing coding. Truly heuristic software solutions are indeed arriving, but until the engineering problems of neural computing are solved, "AI" will still apply mostly to what is really "automated" intelligence.
You’re not using it right then… it’s so powerfull its beyond words already..
It is impressive. Beyond words impressive by any comparison I could make in my lifetime. Ive been using it every night trying to reformulate my running request into 2k sends and 4k returns. Feels like its 1982. Which is probably a good measure of where we are in overall development. It is jaw dropping imho.
thanks man, this will make my situation so easy now. still have lack of skills to hold brain data. but at least I would help my work. thank so very much you didn't skip such steps
for people who are commenting that this software cant replace... the software is evolving at a unimaginable speed... soon it can perform what humans can do... even if the software cant replace, one programmer can do the work of two programmers, so one among the two will be jobless
Guys, they are just getting started. Maybe In the future (not so distant)the main thing you will need to do as a developer is ask the right requests and questions. it changes everything. what need are thousands of developers if AI will do most of the work?
yeah in a few years it will be insane what this AI will be able to do
That's harder than i imagined

Bruh go with more specific things like responsive layout, Unsplash api, tailwind, define each section what you exactly want and boom, i got a fully responsive and good looking website, afcourse it does only basic styling so we have to style the components but it does pretty good job, people are literally creating fully functional wordpress plugins using this ai, i managed to get codes for WordPress custom post types and creating custom fields and that code worked like a charm

@@briandesign my python Code has 84 lines and i got it with one response but you need more tries because it seems it sometimes just stops working.
It can give snippets of code and stuff but it won't replace programmers, hou can't simply ask it to build a site and then 5 second later your done, you still need devs to include it into a codebase, you still need different libraries and frameworks, lets say you have web apps already built, you can't ask it to make you something for your app if it has no knowledge of your codebase, it also won't add it automatically even if it had knowledge of the codebase, you'll always need people that know the language and understand how to implement these snippets, no one is going to hire someone who just copys and pastes snippets from an AI unless that person actually knows what goes where and how it works as a whole.

Days spent on issues that could be isolated and resolved in seconds. Truly Hello World.
So you can generate the page element by element and put it together
It's impossible to do away with developers. I think we just got a helper that's all. There's potential but long way to go in my opinion. I think it's best for providing "answers" and then as a developer using the answer to improve whatever you have. For example, how will it check for errors in a project that contains 100s of pages of code? There are some impossibilities still. Remember all the 100s of files work together so getting the AI to completely understand and manipulate any of those is a big ask. If you ask me, promising but hell won't replace developers. Maybe this will make developers better by pushing them to create better stuff since AI can create basic apps.
next 2 years they will be all bye bye
Cope bro
Glad to see someones getting it
Why would a company hire junior devs with no experience? Just fire them and double the salary of the senior dev and let him use his ChatGPT ai. Sure, human devs will not be completely erased, but an increase in productivity doesn't mean an increase in jobs. I do think that devs should genuinely be worried about this technology. Not only that, but if the AI did made an error, your fix to its code could be stored as a solution to that problem.
@Jeff Chynk I agree... not to mention that AI will be able to design the architecture itself very soon.
Used ChatGPT yesterday. Haven't seen anything like it. Its quiet disruptive in the field of AI. BUT coders and code testers will not die anytime soon, because a lot of human aspect is involved while coding, like unique design formation, optimizing and fine tuning frameworks with respect to product requirements. I think whatever skill is involved or plays role in productization cannot be marginalized, it will have its due importance in the future.
sure coding is questionable, but these other ai companies being built rn are insane and will disrupt a lot of industries real quick aka art, videos, copywriting etc

I used this to create a website but you still need to fix a lot of the coding and ad personal elements to it, its good for template building but it cant create a complete website for you.
Using it for coding is like asking for a wish from a genie in a bottle. You have to be very careful and very specific. If you simply ask it to write a function that adds 1 to a variable. What about wrapping? What about sign? You can end up with nasty bugs.

Might replace a code monkey but not a developer.
If you're a dev you need to know requirements, dare questioning them, know the business domain. It's so much soft skills that goes into it.
So what about entry level jobs , Iam in a lot of debt studying programming and Iam currently 19 years old
Code monkeys are done. Yes, you have to understand how it works under the hood to make something useful.
I found it frequently wrong with a recent project. Sure it was good at teaching, but it wasn't that good with integration and modular coding. The code was right, but I found many times it lead me down the wrong paths and I spent a lot of time debugging and refactoring the code myself. This whole project from beginning to end was captured in a single conversation and yet it struggled. It's still very impressive, but there is still a lot of work to do.
And can it write any other coding language expect HTML..... Something like python, java etc.
lol. yeah dude... it can write react, python, js, rust. whatever u want
It's great at simple tasks like this but when you get advanced and need specific custom features it fails miserably
Is more insane than that I asked to create a blockchain in node and then add features and then a three.js project, I leave it there because I am spending like 6 months to learn that and this erased all my effort so now I just need to understand the technologies involved xd
Can this thing do Software engineering

Humans have one thing that no AI can ever have and that is imaginative creativity. In programming, it's not just about entering codes of which now AI's can do, but it's about the fun of creating something in your mind and then see it as it is. That's what makes coding or programming interesting!
False. It already paints and do a lot of creative art. Websites are nothing like art anyway. It's just a matter of time before it will do everything just by describing it even verbally!
So one person will create as 100.
It is already been debunked AI can make art as well.
It helps to get better at coding that's it, it can't create something like a portfolio with creative effects since all the datas are taken from the web. But humans can!
Response to what to eat for dinner tonight was not a very proprietary response just like the css html snippet responses were.

End of coding? NO...as AmericalsWorthit was saying, some knucklehead can't start asking AI to build them a website. It is wildly common for programmers to be good googlers in order to code and format their work correctly. This is just an advanced version of that culture. Putting it all together and targeting the clients needs will always need a human brain behind it.
p.s it also doesn't factor some complex prompts to well.
General intelligence -- which we have yet to acchieve -- is just as intelligence as us humans if not smarter. So "clients needs will always need a human brain behind it" is incorrect.

With MS providing xaas, literally swallowing everything up along with 3rd party managed service providers destined to be redundant because of that. Citrix, Oracle, I would be very worried if I were them too.
I know right. It's crazy. Just like how the world basically changed with the internet, it looks like we are
approaching another life as we know it type change. And I watched some videos with Alex Hormozi, Tom Bilyeu, and if they can get to the point where Al can improve itself on its own, thats basically it, thats the ticket.
But all the opportunities that we may think that we have or are working towards... all I can say is we better work on them fast and get it done because changes are coming and no area as you said is "safe"
@@billygraham64 Yep. Taking a step back and looking at work as a whole in all different sectors, there are some where it won’t be feasible to use Ai such as the jobs below:

Barbers - would you trust ai with a pair of scissors?
Vehicle body repair - all vehicle damage is different and too many variables at play for ai to rectifying a damaged vehicle.

Gas engineering - every house and business is different which involves a lot of manual labour.
