    So stunning thank you for such a detailed video. Can I use a braided cord for this project?

    • @annabaginova01
      @annabaginova01  2 года назад

      I'm glad to hear you like it 😊 You could use braided cord but just be aware that the look will be a bit different - it will look more "clean", not as boho. And also the braided cords are extremely difficult to brush out for any fringe so where I have the four cords that are holding the shelf you will have a hard time brushing out the bottoms.

    • @annabaginova01
      @annabaginova01  Год назад

      Hi there 🙂 Hmmm, are you making the cords which are holding the shelf in the front a little bit longer than the ones in the back? If you have them equal length that might be what is pulling the dowel away from the wall. But this was so far the only shelf I have made so I don't have that much experience with it and I might be wrong...

    Any suggestions for making it larger ? Like with a 4 foot board.

    • @annabaginova01
      @annabaginova01  Год назад

      Well you could simply add knots - so in the middle add more berry knots at the top so that the triangle is bigger, make all the spiral knots longer, add more diamonds, cut the fringe longer, etc. The other option would be to keep everything the same and only spread the spiral knots which are holding the shelf more to the side but I am not sure if this would still look good with that longer shelf...

  • @LisaCullen
    @LisaCullen Год назад

    3:17pm Hi, I love your videos the best so far, as far as your precise explanation, your personality I resonate with. The only thing that I couldn’t follow was after the double half hitches after you do the middle criss cross after the double half hitches at the top of the diamond. ( I hope I explained that correctly)
    Can you do a tutorial on just that diamond pattern only, but slower? You’re awesome! I got all the parts criss crossed, but during your edit where it seemed to have a little skip, I got lost to where or which one would be the travel cord and which cord to pick up first to start the double half hitches. If that make sense.
    Maybe if you already have a video on just that diamond, can you direct me, or again maybe you can do a tutorial just on the diamond. Until then I’ll try to figure it out. It does get a bit of getting use to doing the double half hitches the fast version, but I got it! I just have to think how to manipulate the cord the correct way depending on which side I’m on. Thanks again. So glad your back, even though I’m a new subbie!

    • @annabaginova01
      @annabaginova01  Год назад

      Hi Nadia 🙂 Since you figured out the thing on the leather piece maybe you have succeeded with this one as well...? If not then you can try searching for "macrame diamond with basket weave", there are a couple videos from different makers showing that one in more detail. Hoping that will help.

    I recently made a hanging macramé shelf and when I was decorating I noticed that too much weight on one side would cause it to tilt is this normal? The watch the other videos and no one really explains that part but I just wanted to make sure I did it properly. Also my rod at the top doesn’t touch the wall flat is this something to do with the length of the cords holding to shelf? 😬 sorry for all the questions I don’t know who else to ask

    • @annabaginova01
      @annabaginova01  2 года назад +1

      Hi Justine, so on the weight I would make sure that you balance whatever you are putting on the shelf to make it more or less equal on each side to prevent the tilting. And I think your guess on the holding cords is correct. When I was making my self I made the holding cords in the front a bit longer so that the top rod sits against the wall and the shelf is leveled even though it is pushed forward by the wall.

      I believe Spain uses the same metric system as the Czech Republic so you should be able to use the measurements which I am listing in the video description 😉

    Amazing tutorial, but the meausrments u say in description box for example 400 c.m u mean cut the rope 400 c.m and fold them right ? Or u mean 400 c.m after folding the rope ,thanks in advance

    • @annabaginova01
      @annabaginova01  2 года назад +1

      It's always the full length of the cord - so cut the rope at 400 cm and then fold it. Just be careful which cord it is because for the spiral knots I am not folding the cords in half - I am explaining this in the video.

    7:20 it looks like you did 2 rows of double knots but it isn't explain.

      Yes, you're right, there were two rows, I did mention that I will be making two rows but you are right that I haven't really shown that. I hope it wasn't too confusing.
