Congratulations to the customer who ordered this guitar over night - it truly is one of the most outstanding guitars we've ever had at Andertons. And if you missed out on this one, then keep an eye on our site/socials/youtube & we'll let you know when we get the next one. Cheers everyone
It's a middle manager's trophy, not a guitar. Embarrassing for everyone. Have fun playing bad Hendrix on your couch.
Lol get some sleep silly. 😂
@@sillysausage4549 guitar is for everyone, from poor musician to richest guy on the planet, from using it for music recording or just playing bad hendrix on their couch and because of youtube i'm not even surprised if there is a middle manager who can play better than most
@@sillysausage4549 I'm sure the person who purchased it will be happy to know you care so much about their purchase. Very kind of you to be so considerate.
@sillysausage4549 I don't understand why people with money buying expensive guitars bothers you so much and you take it so personally. It's very, very odd.
Came here for the ding in the finish comments
I know, right? Seems like nobody else noticed.
Strange huh ?
It’s funny, cause right when they were talking about the finish, they zoomed in on the ding. 😂
When you look at the pictures on line, you can see a couple more dings, maybe you'll get a couple of grand of the price. LoL
Me too.
I like reliced guitars, but the ding on the top is killin' me.
They get all happy with these guitars but sooner or later Pete and the Captain will say again that nothing beats their Les Pauls and Teles.
Congrats on whoever stumped up the 8k. Absolute stunner of a guitar. Enjoy it!
Holy guacamole, that's a lot of modded Squire tele's
4:05 He's a better luthier than he is a proofreader, evidently!
He's a complete orginal.
So brutal
That is Foo spelling', you Foo.
@@pepmasters-999I read the cert and couldn't find it, read your comment and didn't see it there either lol
@@theinsidecyclistOriginal is misspelled however that is ok in my book.
I know I’m watching a commercial for a Castedosa retailer, but dang
That sounds INCREDIBLE!!!
That guitar sounds exactly like it looks!
@@aleksik4028 no, amazing. It sounds like a well crafted, vintage instrument.
Lee: With a V-shape neck.
Pete: Yeah D-shape neck, yeah.
As long as it feels good haha.
😂
Pete really nailed the sound with his playing / setup.
Magnificent instrument. What pure tones.
Regardless of whether you think that this guitar is actually worth £8,799 or not, the fact that the certificate of authenticity has a different serial number on it plus the 'orginal' spelling mistake is shocking....
A Good set up and that thang will be ready to rock!
I like that he breaks in his guitars. Not reliced per se but bumped around and played in to show Use. It sounds too good to be wall art.
Wow that’s a stunner
I love everything about the guitar ❤
Carlos is the man! 🤘
Love this guitar !! Styled with the coolest timeworn finish ! I love it !! Best of the best !!
Amazing!!! suona come una vecchia les paul, meravigliosa!!
wow that is a beauty
Absolutely.
Absolutely gorgeous instrument. Sounds just as lovely as it looks.
Never heard Pete play anything better ❤
I have to say, I never quite understood the idea of "relicced" lawyer trophy guitars. It's almost like you bought custom shop Maseratti and they dinged and chipped it before leaving workshop, added a few scratches around door handles and a bit of rust to chrome grilles just so it doesn't look new. Wtf did that idea come from?
It's because these guitars are finished with incredibly thin nitrocellulose lacquers that are prone to doing this and will do this regardless of how the guitar left the factory. Why would someone creating a beautiful, handmade guitar leave those first handful of finish checks, bumps and bruises to chance (could happen in shipping to the shop or when the first owner knocks it against the case opening it for the first time) when they can get the aging process started in a way that looks cohesive? Kills two birds with one stone.
I understand your sentiment, and used to think this way also, but it's a far cry from buying a maserati with a rusted bumper. If in the car world a rusty bumper on an old classic was viewed as "well loved, and well driven" and not an eye sore, then it'd be a closer comparison.
It’s simple. Quality control is hard from factory / workshop and hard to warranty a nitro finish in unpredictable climates, so some genius decided to market flawed products as intentional design features. Now the world is full of guitars that look played but have never left the case..😂🇦🇺
I like to take a key and scratch my door so people think that I used to have a girlfriend.
It's not relic'd though, it's damaged or imperfect. It's clearly not intentional
So they look like they actually play a lot(or at all)
Wow. That's a great sounding guitar
THE DING !!! i will give you my classic vibe and 50 quid for it
The Dane tried not to curse after the reveal, it was a valiant effort
It sounds beautiful. If I could afford it I would buy it in a heartbeat.
A fool and his money......
That’s easy to say when you can’t afford it anyway.
@wout69 lol, if you say so. Last month's Schwab statement says to tell you you're an idiot.
@@ds97853 Classy…
just WOW !!!!!
the neck humbucker is killer
Nice review. Nice machine. I shall now hope for these for the rest of my life. That is the closest I'll ever get to owning one of these. But it's good to have known one.
I think it sounds beautiful,i am always complaining about price but this time it looks worth it
Has anyone else noticed that 99% of guitar reviews online are for instruments that cost under $300 or over $3,000? I guess no one buys guitars in that $500-$2,000 range anymore? This is nice but for over $11,000 (as of today) Castedosa better pay for Pete to become my live-in guitar instructor for a few months. 😉
now that I've looked at the finish very closely, it is relic'd. the checking on the finish is very subtle. there are scratches. only very obvious thing there was that ding that really stands out.
Chip in the finish?
What's with the chip in the finish by the strap button?
It's a finish option he offers
@@UphillGardener-ly5sh 🤣
Haven't really been moved by other artisan guitars but man, that thing sounds incredible. Gonna have to favorite this video to use as a reference point, not sure if it's just preference or quality or both but damn.. that thing sounds absolutely stunning.
The Crown Royal case is a nice touch!!!
That thing sure does sound nice. Good job on the pickups. I also like the different design elements that pays homage to other storied brands: Fender T-style body with a Gibson-like mahogany back and Fender-like alder top, a Gibson-like carved top and goldtop finish, Martin-like herringbone binding, Aria Pro-like bridge, 70s Japanese-like block fretboard inlays, Harmony-like headstock, etc. Most makers who try to mix that many different design elements into their design usually wind up making it look like a hodgepodge of nonsense, but everything about this guitar blends well and is very tastefully done. 👍
Wow!!!🎸🎸
I know the joke with guitars at this price are inevitably hung up on a wall, but I sincerely hope whoever buys it plays it, cuz this guitar SINGS.
Agreed - this is an exceptional guitar
I haven't seen them in awe like that in awhile
they are trying to sell an overpriced boutique guitar
Holy tone... that neck pickup!!! Which Victory amp you using? Deputy?
The tone "sparkles"! Thank you presenting this guitar. I have a "Telecaster-ish" Valley Arts Larry Carleton model guitar and the Castedosa Marianna is what the VA aspired to be (but is not). Of course, my favorite guitars were my 1966 Telecaster and my 1968 Les Paul gold top: this guitar fondly recalls both guitars.
Do they all come with a ding on the top horn?
Dinged near the bridge as well - it's lightly reliced. Have a look at the pics on the Andertons site.
They should have stuck with the finish checking. The pieces of finish removed with what looks nails doesnt fit the overall look of the guitar.
What it does mean though is if you (or someone else you know) does ding it, it doesn't ruin your year!
The bespoke ding is extra!!
Let's see if Fender bring out a carved top mahogany Tele now!
Oops
I want it!
Looks great, and I can appreciate the custom nature. But I am perfectly content with my modded Jet Tele. Whole thing was under £200, but plays so dang good.
Amen. I've actually got a 350 with the neck bucker coming soon. Some amazing deals out there
It’s pointless comparing this guitar with your Jet Tele.
good - whoever buys this will keep it in a vault with an artificial atmosphere and show it to fellow rich people wearing face masks and white gloves - your jet will get sweaty and be used to make music that people enjoy - you win
Do we get a discount for the bent cord when Captain shuts the case at 4.46.
Julian Lage needs this guitar
Awesome
Are the dings on the top supposed to be relicing?
You say wait, be patient, but not being able to sleep for 18 months??
Seriously that thing is killer. 💯
Just wait til it’s 5 years like Dale W. 8799 will seem like a bargain 😂
Stunning guitar for sure but wasn't blown away considering the price. I think half the price tag would suit it better. Again, stunning looking guitar!
You won’t find a guitar for half the price that plays as well though 😢 I’ve tried, trust me lol
I'm holding out for the Harley Benton version.
Seriously beautiful looking and sounding guitar even at 9k
It sounds amazing even through my naf iPhone speaker
Any info on that weird taped up Marshall Stack behind Pete?
That with P90s would be a dream
It is really good that such exclusive hand crafted guitars exist. Such shows the little people how well something can be made. Let the wealthy enjoy such instruments. I doubt that the owner of that Marianna will enjoy playing it more than I enjoy playing my Donner.
Two days ago a Donner Thinline Telecaster style dual humbucker guitar arrived at my house (DJC-1000S). On sale it cost $119.99 plus tax. A flash sale discounted it $50 and couldn't be resisted. A padded gig bag, a strap, and a guitar cable came with it.
The intonation needs to be set and I would like to cut the nut slots a tiny bit deeper. The finish was nearly perfect. It is the first really thick neck guitar I've owned and it is my new favorite. It has good sustain. _THIS_ is a player's guitar.
The Castedosa Marianna would cost $9350.27 converted from 7332.50 pounds without the VAT. I could buy 77.92 Donner guitars on sale or 55 not on sale for that much money.
In reality, you’re living the dream those rich ppl only hope for.
@@ScottsGuitar I believe that knowing when one has enough or when what one has is good enough, is a key to happiness.
Do you do Klarna as a payment method? Pay 3 will make it much more manageable for me..
Beautiful guitar but more importantly it sounds great with tremendous clarity. It prompted me to play my now - discontinued Fret King tele with the unique Fishman pickup set made famous by Greg Koch and honestly they sound very similar.
that axe is a real beauty boys, its voice is stunning, and it looks the biz, loved the vid boys, you did him proud.
thanks gents.
I adore Teles, but my biggest desire is always better inlays and binding. I have an import Michael Kelly with Duncans that has no inlays and it plays and sounds beautiful, but what I really want is my Squier 40th Anniversary Strat neck on a double-bound Tele body.
Okay, so how long do I have to wait and how much do I have to spend to get THAT sounds that I’ve had in my head for about 30 years now?????
Wow
Anyone know what amp is being played through?
It’s good to know there are guys out there doing excellent work. I like the fact he creates near perfection, but leaves tiny imperfections on it. Some rich dude will be chuffed with that no doubt. If it’s a famous musician then it’s tax deductible anyway, so a bargain.
That guitar is going to make some dentist or cardiologist very happy.
it states on their website that you choose from a pre designed range, hand built and well crafted definitely. Custom? not quite as an individual customer cant specify what they want and then have it built to that requirement. and lets be honest if you're paying that much for a guitar, you might as well get one made exactly how you want it.
People can criticize the price but from everyone that has played them they say they are the absolute best guitars out there
No guitar is worth £9,000 - (in my humble opinion), and PRS must be laughing all the way to the bank about his £5,000 plus priced guitars that only cost a fraction of that to make. I can appreciate that the Castedosa guitars are made primarily by one guy with probably a small staff of helpers, but that's his own choice and he'll probably last a couple of years at best before he has to start producing cheaper more realistically priced guitars to stay in business. Pete's gem of wisdom - "these guitars are meant to be played" is probably what most guitarists think about the guitars they shell out their hard earned money for - (no disrespect intended Pete, I enjoy watching your playing and demo's) - but we're not all in a financial position to part with £9,000 for a guitar just because it's meant to be played. Surely they're all meant to be played.
So, while I agree with you and never myself spend more than 800 USD on a guitar, I understand what the market for these things is. There are people, doctors, lawyers etc. who go for things like this, specifically at this kind of price point, because they want to be able to show it off. All guitars might be meant to be played, but some are mostly built to show off and they'll get played occasionally. They're more "art piece guitars". I never understood this concept until I worked in retail for collectible card games like Magic: The Gathering. Whether we like it or not, it's a significant enough portion of the industry that if you don't feed into it at all, you are just actively losing money.
You’re right. We are not all in the financial position to drop 9000 on a guitar. Thats probably why they only got one. For the person who is in that financial position.
@@FrankFerret 800 is a bit low of a cap these days I think. I once bought an $800 Schecter back in 2006. All the bells and whistles back then. Can’t get that these days for that price.
It sucks we chose an expensive hobby lol. Not saying I would ever spend 9k on a guitar (I have spent 3k😬) but I guess we decide what we go to work for everyday. Some choose new iPhones, laptops, motorcycles… Guitars.
Even at £9,000, there will be buyers. And he'll only need to make a handful a year to make a living.
Lee sounds great playing this guitar
Great looking and sounding guitar... but that's like 15000 in Canada lol.
I’ve figured out that the larger the headstock on the guitar, the more depth it has.
Personally I prefer small headstocks aesthetically, but I have quite a few Strats with small headstocks and the one with the larger one sounds better than the others
I'm a sucker for a Gold Top and this has me wondering what organs I can live without
Is it really better than a Nic Huber, Tom Anderson or even PRS. Different yes I question the price 😮
Do they do a P-90 version of something like that...? Im guessing yes as he is a custom builder...
I can see why you avoided saying the price (£8800). But maybe it’s worth that to someone cause it does sound good and looks cool as heck.
Fine scratches on headstock. Not buffed out enough?
It’s a reliced finish.
Gold is the best color for guitars, imo.
NEARLY £9000 HOW MUCH!!!! Very Pretty though.
Hence the gush
2:28 - Headstock says #292 while the certificate is #262 - attention to detail worth £9000 😂😂
plus the spelling mistake on his own certificate doesn't inspire confidence
I think the 2s just look upside down. Otherwise it would be 292# which doesn't make sense.
@@egg43002 Oof. Whats the mistake? Missed it
it's 262 the first two just looks weird.
Holy crap that sounds so good. It’s got humbucker goodness but with a little Teie snap for clarity. And when gained up a bit it’s got that vowel quality to the notes. F**k me… I wish I had the dough.
nope, I am totally fine with my cheap Tele
I only own Walker & Williams straps. Highly recommended.
When did Carlos Lopez begin assembling these models? Was it only within the last few years (up to 2024)? One kind of like that was filmed in the hands of Billy Joel guitarist David Browne in June 1990 during his concert at Yankee Stadium. David’s had more of a gold finish, no pick guard and a floating bridge.
Whoops he misspelled the bridge manufacturer. The bridge is an "Original Stoptail" Schroeder and the studs are from the same manufacturer "Top-Adjustable Locking Studs" made in the USA. I just happen to know this because I recently bought a set of the studs for my PRS Pauls Guitar.
Looks a bit reminiscent of the Fender Troublemaker Deluxe. Nice.
The prices of these...my Bank would ask for collateral: "May we have your Liver?"
Wow ❤
Great guitar… but for £9000, it sounds like any other guitar really! 😂
I’m too poor to even dream about this guitar, but even I were rich, I would still buy under £1500 guitars because being poor has taught me the value of money! 💰
🤷♂️
"but even I were rich, I would still buy under £1500"
You say that, then one day someone says try this.... and
WOW 9K, is there i payment option where i can donate one kidney or something?! 🤣🤣🤣 Exquisite guitar gents 🤘
Bacchus (frome DEVISER) has a very similar series, much more affordable at 1000€ per.
Could love to see some tests of them :)
Who designs the headstock
Amazing guitar. Clarity for days. But I’d love to know whether that ding is there by design. I’ve seen a lot of reliced guitars, but never what looks like a ding straight through the finish all on its own.
Because he's spending so long on each guitar obviously I think if there's an imperfection he sure ain't going to start again. It's tempting to make that part of the "story" but nah, it's just non existent QC because there can't be with a one man operation. Charging £9000 for that though is pretty cheeky
If i had the spare coin to but that, it would be in my collection! It's just beautiful.
It's like a wrap-around bridge Tele Troublemaker. Really cool.
Looks like a prs adjustable bridge
Is the bridge made of aluminum? That might what is responsible for that hollow sound.
There’s a chip on top front corner of guitar , near 3 way switch
Much like Fender Master builders, Carlos does have an apprentice that also helps him too fyi.
