The extras are absolutely amazing. Iconic era. I own a sealed first print and one that i’ve read 5 times. I picked up the DM for this printing and happy to see the new spine treatment lol
And they are new scans, which is so awesome.

I miss the old times when Comic Book artists Jim Lee and Whilce Portacio were drawing the Marvel comics X-Men titles. the late 80s and early 90s X-Men comic books were really good because the their artwork. I know its wishful thinking but I wish Jim Lee would draw the Uncanny X-Men again. I know he works for DC comics now but I kind of wish that Jim Lee would comeback and draw Uncanny X-Men again.
Perhaps it could happen someday.
I would love it if he goes back to image...

Funny how you first mentioned all the issues that are not included in the omnibus, and then you say "this is included here because otherwise it would have been orphaned."
Yeah, back then they had to leave out the events for OHCs.

Every time I see trading cards in the extras, it makes me wanna see a collected edition of oversized trading card scans! Especially with how hot the old cards are right now on the secondary market, there might be demand for it. Hell, the Marvel Masterpiece line was even released in comic book size back in the day! I'd also buy a Swimsuit Edition collected edition just for the lulz.

I love the team uniform that they wore for a lot of this run (cover of 275). What I wouldn't give for a team set with that uniform in Marvel Legends figures.

Awesome overview! I'll be ordering this (DM cover since it goes better with my DM of Vol 1) on March 10! I opted to go the Milestone route for Mutant Massacre, Fall of the Mutants, and Inferno to save money. So if I'm not mistaken, I'll just need an eventual Uncanny X-Men Vol 5/Prelude to Mutant Massacre omnibus to complete by Claremont X-Men collection. I'm about to go turbo and read all these (starting off finishing my X-Men Classic omnibus) once I finish Invincible. :)

Hey Omar, what's up with these xmen omnis going oop so soon? Is this also gone like UXM 3 and 4? For people like me staying outside US, all pre orders get cancelled as all distributors are out of stock by the time they are officially set for release.. i wish marvel takes these into account, haven't faced such issues with DC atleast

I didn’t get this first time around so looking forward to it. I’m actually going to start moving my business over the CheapGraphicNovels (I have orders outstanding at TOW through the summer but from now on I’m changing over) mainly because Tales Of Wonder don’t send shipping notices or tracking numbers, which I find really annoying. Which is gonna suck for TOW cause I spend a lot of money on these suckers.

I wasn't a fan of trading cards in general, so I went with the three-issue Marvel X-Men Collection that blew up all trading card art to comic size. Marvel could make extra $$$ by compiling them (and adding the recent recolored Jim Lee variants) into an HC.

I can't wait to order this book to complete my set for chris and jim. I know this is kind of off topic so sorry in advance yet just wanted to say that I got my amazing Spider-Man omnibus vol 2 since it was cheaper to get that than the OOP epic collection vol 3 & 4. However, after seeing it and reading some of those letters not sure if you said it Omar or someone did in the comments but I completely get the time capsule comment. I have just about every epic collection of Spider-Man but now I want to double dip and get them in Omnibus form lol.
For me, the moment in time letters was enough of a selling point to want me to replace the epic collection books.
I always like to refer to the letter pages as time capsules to take us back to how things were back then.

Can you get this volume 2 and not need volume 1 to get a good read out of it? Vol 2 is available still but people want an arm and leg for volume 1. Thus far i've got Claremont Vol 2, Age of Apocalypse, and Onslaught as a basline for collection! Thanks in part to your videos!!
i like the recoloring on magneto & the electric shield over the original coloring but other than that i like the original colors more

I know they sold out of X of Swords like everyone. This one was sold out in preorder in 30 minutes, which is crazy.

Unrelated question, do you anywhere I can find Hellblazer vol. 20? I can't find it anywhere besides Amazon, and I hate buying from them. I plan on getting 21-24 before they go missing/oop, but its gonna suck not having 20 when I have 1-19.
I think Hellblazer is OOP in the direct market. So if you need it. Perhaps Barnes and noble or even Target may have them.

CGN pre orders for Vol 2 sold out in less than 30 mins. I got the email notification from them and it was unavailable when I went to order it as soon as I saw the message (~3 hours from when sent). Very frustrating.

I always interested what would've happened if Claremont would have stayed on for a lot longer than leaving. Why did jim lee leave X-Men after issue 11. I would've thought he would want to stay on longer. my first X-Men story i read was onslaught over 10 years ago. Loved it.
Only now getting into X-Men more.
He did a series called X-men Forever.

I’ve got to give Marvel credit for their efforts in the omnibus department over the past couple years. I’ve had a list of books I’ve been trying to add to my shelf: Daredevil by Bendis, Uncanny X-Force by Remender, Captain America by Brubaker, and anything X-Men. And Marvel has done it. I was able to pick each one up. And regarding those X-Men, let’s look at what they’ve released: Astonishing X-Men, Uncanny X-Men vol. 4, New Mutants and Excalibur, reprints of Uncanny vols. 1-3, Inferno, Claremont and Lee vols. 1 and 2, Wolverine, and then they’ve scheduled rereleases for Mutant Massacre, Inferno Prologue, Age of Apocalypse and its companion, Wolverine and X-Men by Jason Aaron. It’s almost as much as anyone could want, except that yeah, thanks to Omar, we’ve all pretty much become obsessive completionists, so we do want more. But my collection is looking good. It’s a great time to be an X-Men fan. Thanks Marvel, and thanks Omar for being our voice.

I'm interested in collecting these, but I'm confused on where to start. I know there were some Uncanny X Men Omnibuses that were released awhile back, are these new volumes essentially the same, just labeled X Men instead of Uncanny?
