8:06 The character from Natsu-mon is named Satoru. "Natsu-mon" is short for Natsu Monogatari meaning "Summer Story." It plays fairly well on Steam from my experience.
I wanna give another suggestion for this kinda game, it's summer of memories on mobile. at the time I didn't know that such game had its own genre, but I found the game quite enjoyable to play. now that I know there's specific genre/group for this kinda game, I might explore more on this and I'd definitely get the coal town one. thanks for the great video, josh!
i really hope that if these games are successful in the west, we'll get remastered localizations of the boku no natsuyasumi games. i've always wanted to play them but being japanese exclusives makes that really hard :( the most well known of the games did get an english fan translation recently but it would be nice to play them officially and without the need for emulators
I’ve played all of these, and I agree with your conclusion. They’re such a beautiful series of games, I enjoy the sounds of the bugs, the running water, the fireworks, all of it! Awesome video, Josh!!☺️
I remember when Shiro and the Professor (shortened...lol) came out, and I kept holding off from getting it. I waited so long that an even better game(s) came out, so I'm glad I waited! Thanks for the review! I'm going to pick up Shiro and the coal mine first, then I'll get Natsumon later. I'll just skip Shiro and his professor...lol.
Thank you so much for explaining the series of games! I loved Shin Chan as a kid so I was hype to hear the release of this coal town game. Even with other videos I was a bit confused as to what the game is actually about. Will definitely get it now I like that there’s no time limit with day cycles. Something I was story of seasons/harvest moon could apply with how rushed each day feels
Attack of The Friday Monsters is also really good. I was lucky enough to get it before the 3ds eShop closed down. I'm really looking forward to playing these games. The genre is so cosy c:
How are you doing those magic tricks?! The floating games pop out of your hand! JK Anyway, I'd love to play these games someday. I'm happy that the achievements are easy to do! I watched Shin-Chan a lot as a kid, and I adore those little easter eggs (giant Kumamon head at 2:46! )
I just started Natsu-Mon on the Switch and I love it. It’s so cozy and laid back, and for me at least, I haven’t really noticed the performance issues. I think I’ll want to play all three eventually.
Thank you so much for making this video!!! 🙏🏻 I initially wanted to play the first Shin Chan but was hesitant for various reasons, then I was gonna go for Natsu-Mon cuz the demo intrigued me (but didn't totally sell me). Didn't realize how much of an improvement Coal Town is, so looks like that's the title for me! 😁👍
Do you play Sprout Valley? It’s still a cute game, cheap when it goes on sale which is or was often (at least in US) they still update it with new costumes and maybe other content.
I agree with your complaints about the fishing mechanics in natsu mon. They're too simplistic. They should have made it more like breath of fire 3 . I did t have any performance issues. But the game is kinda boring.

I have been wondering which one of these I should get, and here you are making a video about it :D

Never heard of this title series before! Absolutely going to check it out!
I’ve been curious about Coal Town and no one is talking about it. Thank you! ❤❤❤
Great reviews! I have been looking for a reviewer to do this exact same thing as I am undecided which game I wanted!

I pre-ordered Shin Chan Shiro and the Coal town and it came out today and I'm excited to play it when I get off work today.

This was so helpful! I was wondering which one I should get
I used to watch shin chan every morning before school
It's been confirmed by Gematsu that Coal Town will also be released by Limited Run Games
Anyone heard news of a shin Chan coal town western physical? I would love to see one.

Please do the separate review for Shin in the Coal Town! I'm really not sure to go with it or Miitopia
Shin-chan is funny

I love these games
