  • Hi everyone! This was my first time ever drawing an animal, so it was a super fun and interesting challenge to draw my cat Siri! This took me about 20 hours.
    Materials used:
Fabriano studio watercolor paper, hot press 300 gsm
Charcoal powder and General's charcoal pencils
    Staedtler mars lumograph black pencils
Mono zero eraser and eraser pencil
    White charcoal pencil
Mechanical pencil without lead for embossing
Dish sponge for blending the background
    Soft makeup brushes for blending
    Thanks for watching!

Astonishing watching this come to life. Beautiful work. At first I thought that the "white " was a Mono eraser but now I think it's applied to the surface, can you explain please?

Thank you so much! Some of the white is done with a mono eraser but for the brighter highlights I used a white charcoal pencil :)

Beautiful portrait. I was just wondering, did you render it entirely with charcoal and use graphite for the initial lineart, or do you use graphite for the shading as well? If so which parts if you dont mind me asking

Thank you! Yes I used graphite for the initial outline. For the shading I used charcoal powder to create the base, and added some of the fine details with dark graphite (Staedtler mars lumograph Black) on top.
