Praise the Lord, the baton is passing. I was exposed to the GVB through a US missionary. A truly inspirational band of singers. Not a surprise that I love the Southern 'sound'. May the Lord bless others thru your ministry.
I had the privilege of hearing the GVB last month and they are absolutely fantastic! I felt like I was getting a taste of heaven on earth! They are professional, excellent, and set the standard for Gospel music very high! No one does it like the Gaither Vocal Band - I love the way they worship the Lord!
I can't believe some of the horrible comments on here! The Gaithers have been doing their work for many decades and if they were anything like some of you suggest they would not have lasted the distance. When you, who have criticised so vehemently, can spend any time at all spreading a great message, bringing joy and smiles wherever you go, and stay committed to it, THEN you will have earned the right to criticise. Maybe we get set in our ways even with music. I started watching Gaither videos when it was Bill, Mark, Guy and David plus there is no voice on God's green earth as amazing as the voice of David Phelps.

But in other videos, I've seen Russ Taff and Jonathan Peirce with the Vocal Band too. They're not bad I didn't even know the Gatiehr's were still ON. You've said it well Bill , this group is beautifully arranged , and anointed by God ,you can see this group is soooo well synchronized, harmony out of this world. This is a new team in the relay of the Gaither's Vocal band ,the baton has been passed and you all are WONDERFUL .David seem to have moved on and the three new members are God's gifts to the world for this time.They are different and brings something different, distinct ,new ,refreshing,inspiring and they are humble and anoited by God .God is using you all to minister to my heart i have been telling all my friends about you.I have enjoyed the band's ministry over the years, but to God be the glory for you all for this time. I can't miss a day ,my break time @ work is filled with listening to this New group. This is what the family of God looks like.Joy on your faces, the fruit of the Spirit evident , you are blessing people everywhere, go on and sing to God's honor and glory until He comes . I really enjoyed the band when David, Mark, Guy & you were together. You got me thru some pretty ruff times. I have enjoyed all the new singers. The joy you give me can't be described. I just chastise the old ones and listen to your new ones. I really miss Guy, what is he doing?
I too have been a huge fan of the GVB for a long time. I confess that I miss Guy Penrod more than I can say. Something about his delivery of songs that speaks of the gospel of Jesus Christ in his very soul. I have a lot of the CDs and DVDs made while Guy was with them and will treasure them always. I know he wanted to go solo and probably spend more time with his family, too. Can't blame him for that. Traveling from country to country, state to state takes a lot of time and energy that his family needs, too. I love him and will always be his biggest fan. I am so sorry for those who post negative thoughts here. This is really not the place to air bitterness; we are a people of love.

Yes, I really miss Guy Penrod's beautifully unique voice that sounds like no one else I know; and, I miss his total personna, his quiet speaking voice and his persistence in maintaining his own "mountain preacherman" style and appearance (for which I'm sure he took a lot of flack from some quarters - I prayed for those people), and the strong walk with God that was apparent in his worship & conduct. The wonderful thing is, tho', God knew just what we needed to not only comfort us, but to increase our pleasure and joy. So sad to hear about mark leaving I loved him being in the Gather Band he was filled with so much humor .he added to the Band.When I listen to the Gather Band and if you were down just listening to Mark with his joking ways cheered me up every time.Going to miss him.

I hope one day I get to meet Bill and Gloria Gaither so that I can tell them what a blessing they have been to my family. When my Dad was suffering in his last days the Home Coming Videos were such a great comfort to him and to us.My cousin came back to faith in God shortly before he died as a direct result of the Home Coming Music. Only in Heaven Bill and Gloria and the Vocal Band will you know the full extent of what your ministry has done.for God upon this Earth!
+Carole Platt When I was about 12 I wrote Bill & Gloria a letter expressing what their music meant to my life. I was so pleased when I got a handwritten letter back (not one of those form letters for fans) encouraging me to continue loving the Lord. It was such a lovely letter from 2 wonderful people.

I've said much that same thing about them, to so many people. The Gaither Friends videos were the last things my Mother really enjoyed watching - they seemed to be of enormous comfort to her. I started watching them with her, and soon fell in love with the whole Gaither concept, the people and the music which I loved so much from growing up in the Church & in a Southern family transplanted to the North. I've experienced a renewal of my own faith, which I was hungry for, without realizing what was wrong with me. For all those reasons & more, I feel a debt of gratitude to, and love for, all of the singers and musicians; and, for Bill & Gloria, my gratitude and awe is enormous! And it's all because both of them committed to listening to God, being obedient to His will, and channeling their talent, intellect, resources and hard work as He directs. Absolutely amazing, even to this Believer, what they have done for the whole world.
Went to their concert @ Citizens Arena in Ontario, California and enjoyed every moment! The new member has an amazing range and the sound of the group was just awesome!

I remember when Guy left - oh the heartbreak.. or when David left , the crying ..but Michael and Mark are on their journey's now.. and God has His plan for all of them.. Are they singing for the glory of God? Yes, so to God give praise. Thank You Lord You are alive and well. I must say though, i really and truly miss Guy Penrod and David singing together, they blended so well. They were fantastic, the blonde curly hair young man has a great voice. To sum it all up they all sounded great for God and us. Thank you all very much. What Guy is doing these days? I am a Jamaican kindly do not leave us in the dark.
I've always love the GVB's sound no matter who was in the group. Bill is so amazing putting different guys in the group, and still sounding great. It's all about serving the Lord and this is just another step to share with the world God's eternal message of His love in salvation.
My children grew up with the Gaithers (we had records at that time). I am ashamed of the remarks below and I know they will ignore them. These same people throw money at all the POP singers, but are concerned about these people making money? REally? How do you think they pay expenses?

I remember going to a GVB concert back in the 80s. Still one of the best concerts I've ever been to. I always get a pang when someone leaves but the GVB always gives us something great to listen to and blesses our hearts.
The Gaither group has been a blessing to me live and recorded NOT only are they very good you can tell they're annointed,go see them live one time you'll see
THOROUGHLY Enjoyed the PBS concert today. Will watch for more of this group's inspirational music & voices. One suggestion, how about introducing each member including musicians & backup singers. Love the violins & cellos in particular.
Queen La'ah I agree, pure gold! Unfortunately, even the best of us wear out on the road, eventually; and, our sweet Guy Penrod has a house & yard full of growing kids & a terrific wife. Even the greatest Mother in the world appreciates the presence of her husband as her children grow. Guy is a hands-on kind of Dad, so I'm sure his kids are happy to see more of him, too. Plus, he pastors a church! I'd imagine he was starting to feel stretched pretty thin, by the time he finally retired from the GVB. I still miss him terribly, but I do I thank God for sending Bill Gaither yet another "stroke of genius" when he was looking for new members for GVB, because it brought us Brothers Todd Suttles and Adam Crabb!
I am saddened by some of the hateful comments made by professing 'Christians'. GVB has been an inspiration over many years and have been blessed by their message & performances to this day. Comments like the even 'too effeminate' not going to heaven and how do you judge that by degrees and traits of....???? What about the 'too hateful', 'too judgmental', too ???'. Change is never easy and people come and go for whatever reason but if God is in it then good things are going to happen. Let grace abound in our hearts and let God judge in due season. We all see through a glass darkly and character ultimately brings fruit after its kind..good or bad. There are six things the Lord hates, seven that are detestable to him: haughty eyes, a lying tongue, hands that shed innocent blood, a heart that devises wicked schemes, feet that are quick to rush into evil, a false witness who pours out lies and a person who stirs up conflict in the community.
GVB is outstanding. I wake up n listen to talents. They have distinctive voices each one sing wonderfully. As for the short guy. He's Tena it's just too much. WELL DONE. Continue with yo good work . S.A.
These guys are going to do great things together. Each time the GVB changes, I am reluctant to let 'old' members go, but I have found over the years, that God just keeps working through all the members of the group-whoever they are..

During the 1960's as a teenager I heard the Bill Gaither Trio at our church. Our choir director had sung many of the songs that they had written, most often he sang HE TOUCHED ME. These songs never grow old and bring inspiration, peace, joy and the Love of God and his Blessings.

I'm really happy with the new band all0though I will miss the other guys. I've really like Adam Crabb for the longest time. I like seeing David so happy and the new guy is a lot of fun. It is a matter of opinion which group is better.For you to say you hope you will never hear the new GVB would be your loss. I only know 1 member of the new group and that is Adam Crabb.I am not afraid to say that he is one of the most faithful men I have ever listened to.I am a 73 year old woman from Southern Ohio I would go and listen to Adam and the others from the new group if they were hear in my area.Bill has an ear for good harmony and let’s not leave out a Godly man these young men are all talented but give God the praise for their gift of beautiful voices. listened to a lot of gospel groups singers etc,The G.V.B., are the creme de la creme..and ..i was gonna say if,but when i return to the fold, thier music will be a big part of, bringing me back..God bless them all..
Still do love the "male harmonies". I think back when I used to sit with my grandmother listening to these songs and reaping the spiritual benefits. It takes me back to a time when I was in my twenties and singing along through these songs that used to get me through some tough times.
Maybe I shouldn't say this. But my daughter was baptized with the Holy ghost tonight. I'm on cloud nine, the moment I started to listen to this group with Bill I got the call from . Tulsa The gospel capital ha. but musically Bill and Gloria are Geniuses. I'm taking that leeway to say it and brag on them. Because it"s a hard job to keep singers together, no matter what,. Ha

I've always love the GVB's sound no matter who was in the group. Bill is so amazing putting different guys in the group, and still sounding great. It's all about serving the Lord and this is just another step to share with the world God's eternal message of His love in salvation.
My children grew up with the Gaithers (we had records at that time). I am ashamed of the remarks below and I know they will ignore them. These same people throw money at all the POP singers, but are concerned about these people making money? REally? How do you think they pay expenses?

I remember going to a GVB concert back in the 80s. Still one of the best concerts I've ever been to. I always get a pang when someone leaves but the GVB always gives us something great to listen to and blesses our hearts.
The Gaither group has been a blessing to me live and recorded NOT only are they very good you can tell they're annointed,go see them live one time you'll see

THOROUGHLY Enjoyed the PBS concert today. Will watch for more of this group's inspirational music & voices. One suggestion, how about introducing each member including musicians & backup singers. Love the violins & cellos in particular.

Queen La'ah I agree, pure gold! Unfortunately, even the best of us wear out on the road, eventually; and, our sweet Guy Penrod has a house & yard full of growing kids & a terrific wife. Even the greatest Mother in the world appreciates the presence of her husband as her children grow. Guy is a hands-on kind of Dad, so I'm sure his kids are happy to see more of him, too. Plus, he pastors a church! I'd imagine he was starting to feel stretched pretty thin, by the time he finally retired from the GVB. I still miss him terribly, but I do I thank God for sending Bill Gaither yet another "stroke of genius" when he was looking for new members for GVB, because it brought us Brothers Todd Suttles and Adam Crabb!
I am saddened by some of the hateful comments made by professing 'Christians'.
GVB has been an inspiration over many years and have been blessed by their message & performances to this day. Comments like the even 'too effeminate' not going to heaven and how do you judge that by degrees and traits of....???? What about the 'too hateful', 'too judgmental', too ???'.
Change is never easy and people come and go for whatever reason but if God is in it then good things are going to happen. Let grace abound in our hearts and let God judge in due season. We all see through a glass darkly and character ultimately brings fruit after its kind..good or bad.
There are six things the Lord hates, seven that are detestable to him:
haughty eyes,

These guys are going to do great things together. Each time the GVB changes, I am reluctant to let 'old' members go, but I have found over the years, that God just keeps working through all the members of the group-whoever they are..

During the 1960's as a teenager I heard the Bill Gaither Trio at our church. Our choir director had sung many of the songs that they had written, most often he sang HE TOUCHED ME. These songs never grow old and bring inspiration, peace, joy and the Love of God and his Blessings.
So very excited for the next chapter of the Gaither Vocal Band.

Wait, maybe they are not from Dalton, but as I was growing up they sung at my church all the time. So, I guess Dalton can't make claims. But who cares, I am just boiling over with excitement about seeing an awesome vocalist that I know of, just awesome! Shutting up now!

I've never heard the "new" vocal band, and I don't want to. Nobody will EVER compare with Bill, Mark, Guy and David
It is a matter of opinion which group is better.For you to say you hope you will never hear the new GVB would be your loss. I only know 1 member of the new group and that is Adam Crabb.I am not afraid to say that he is one of the most faithful men I have ever listened to.I am a 73 year old woman from Southern Ohio I would go and listen to Adam and the others from the new group if they were hear in my area.Bill has an ear for good harmony and let’s not leave out a Godly man these young men are all talented but give God the praise for their gift of beautiful voices. I would love for them to come to Southern Ohio I would sure attend.Keep on Keeping on for the Lord.Love and pray for each of you.Check with Shawnee Colledge they could tell you who to speak to for booking a concert.I saw the Isacs one year.

listened to a lot of gospel groups singers etc,The G.V.B., are the creme de la creme..and ..i was gonna say if,but when i return to the fold, thier music will be a big part of, bringing me back..God bless them all..
Still do love the "male harmonies". I think back when I used to sit with my grandmother listening to these songs and reaping the spiritual benefits. It takes me back to a time when I was in my twenties and singing along through these songs that used to get me through some tough times.
And I really love all the gaither singers throughout the years

Maybe I shouldn't say this. But my daughter was baptized with the Holy ghost tonight. I'm on cloud nine, the moment I started to listen to this group with Bill I got the call from . Tulsa The gospel capital ha. but musically Bill and Gloria are Geniuses. I'm taking that leeway to say it and brag on them. Because it"s a hard job to keep singers together, no matter what,. Ha
Also, some of you folks need to lighten up a little. These songs are presented to give glory to God and bless his people, hopefully reach the lost among us, no matter whos singing them. And then last entertain you.

While I'm very excited about the transitions of GVB, I know that the sounds of old are gone. I expect new sounds, flavors and styles that will reflect the diversity I see in front of me. Let's be the head of the music industry instead of the tail, showing that the Gospel can continue to be told musically with excellence! All the best!
They will still do all the GVB music and it will still sound just as great as it did before I have been Listening to Bill and Gloria sing since I was 5 yrs old and the GVB since they put the band together.. Praise the Lord and listen to the music and be blessed
