So did Frances Bean Cobain...I play in a band that does a lot of 90's and early - mid 00's covers, so I cover a lot of her dad's songs (my favorite to play is probably "On a Plain" and by far; my favorite MCR song in reference to Gerard Way to play and sing lead vocals for is "Helena")...I don't know how I stumbled across this song, but I used to love the Dresden Dolls...do you know where you can hear Gerard?

So did Gerard Way of MCR fame. I am a 39 year old college history professor, but I still play a lot of gigs with friends at local bars covering a lot of 90's alt rock and grunge along with alt/emo/pop-punk from the early-mid 00's. Some of my students each semester love to ask if that was me on stage drinking and playing guitar because I'm all "professorly" during the 3 hours/week they are in my lectures. They'll be out at the bars around campus and not sure if it's really me dressed in crap I wore 16-20 years ago, jamming on guitar or bass, and singing lead or backup to songs like "Black Hole Sun", "Creep", "Dammit", "Just", "In Bloom", "Man in the Box", so they'll ask, "Professor, umm, were you maybe playing guitar and sometimes bass, and also sometimes singing lead or backup at 'X-Bar' on Saturday night with Professor So & So and a couple of other guys dressed up like the last of Generation X'rs did in the 90's and early 00's?" When they see me in class the following Monday or Tuesday after the Weekend. So, I always answer them with - "Yeah, just because I get paid doing what I love, teaching college students history, grading your papers, giving you mid-terms and finals that you sweat over, I don't just sit at home 24/7 smoking a pipe in a tweed jacket, reading a first hand account from a soldier who fought with the Yorks in the War of the Roses, I like to remember the time when I was your age, and play the music that got me through the years before and the years during the time I was stressing over exams just like you do over mine. And, I grew up listening to the best shit ever, so you're welcome I was able to school you in some recent music history, When they find out that I did my undergrad at the same college I teach at, then they want me to go down memory lane, and I say, "Fine, we can talk about that part of my, and this university's history, but there are going to be questions on your cumulative final about it, along with everything else, unless you want to come talk to me during office hours when maybe 1 of you stop by each day I'm there for 3 hours a couple times each week, and am bored out of my mind. Then, on your time, I'm more than happy to tell you some stories." Oh, to be young, yet be old. Why do we still feel young when we get old. Anyways, I wayyyyyyyyyy digressed there. Evelyn-Evelyn is a great duo, and I have always loved Amanda's eccentric musicianship.
