OMGosh, I am just learning to crochet. I have given up on Granny Squares because they never turn out. Until now... the speed you crochet along with the instructions on the bottom, I have finally made a Square!
Oh my God!!! Ty!!!! So amazing! I'm currently making a sun and moon blanket thanks to you. I have about 8 squares so far. Long way to go. I just started a little more than a month ago, and your tutorials have helped tremendously! Can you do a moon with a star one day?
This was a fantastic tutorial, I had a lot of fun making it! I messed up at some point and made 13 sun points instead of 12 but it still came out amazing in my opinion. Great work!
Hi, I just finished making your sun granny square when I found this one I like even better ;) I thought that apart from the center, the rays and the blue outer layer would be the same as the sun square, but it seems like it's different, is that correct? Is there a reason for that and which one would you advise? I would like to make some suns and some moon/sun squares and I want them to be the same size, so I'd like to use the same blue outer layer for the both of them.
Yes it’s different, i tried matching both of them when i was making the pattern but I cannot sacrifice the design of this square just to match the other one :(( I think its possible but will look weird or not flat You can add 1stitch in each side of the square of round 7 or 4 random stitches in round 7 then just ignore round 8 and its the same stitch count with sun granny square
I'm a lefty living in a right hand world also! I've gotten used to it over many, many years 😅 As long as you are familiar with the stitches it's really not that difficult to follow a right-handed tutorial. Give it a go - you might be pleasantly surprised!
TY so much for this it is the center of my afghan. I'm making this one for my daughter with all her favorite things in it. I used navy for the background. Her name is Celina and it stands for moonlight. I also put four Celestial moons in the corners. My mother though they were just Cs. 😃
Thank you so much for this tutorial ❤😊 I want to make this into a large granny square for the back of my crop cardigan, how would you suggest I do this to get a larger granny square?
There’s a lot of methods out there but I always use the “whip stitch” method even if this method is very time consuming. I just personally love it. Here’s a sample video on how to do it: ruclips.net/video/8RUt-VSX9PU/видео.htmlsi=_MkH3_Auu9at_ZOD
@@creggyscrochet Ok, thanks! Last one I made was a sunflower granny baby blanket and used the join as you go, I didn't like the ridges it left, too much texture for me. I think I will go with the whip stitch for this one. Nice, clean look. Thanks for the quick response!
Good Morning! You just happened in my feed! Serendipity! Subscribed and liked. My littlest grand loves "sunandmoon". Obviously, this project sings out to her! Have a fabulous today! Steph
One question! How come the tips of my sun's rays are not curved to the side like yours? Mine seem to be more above, like straight up, and I love the curve tip look!😮
I think it is because of my color changing technique, if you look in 12:12 and 12:30, I always placed the previous yarn in front of the yarn that i will use :)) the downside of this technique is that you always have to rotate your project or untwist the yarn.
@serenity6415 I watch the channel Craft Folk, and she has a wonderful moon tutorial. It is the best one I've found. She makes it very easy to follow. She has several tutorials on a whole celestial set. She does the sun, moon, and 2 kinds of stars, and she also has a moon phase tutorial, too.
It’s difficult to increase because will affect the overall pattern and you have to adjust a lot of things so i suggest using bigger and hooks if you want a bigger result
I love it and I have it in my Etsy cart already cannot wait to get my hot hands and hook and yarns on it. woot woot sweater here I come! I love your patterns! Gracias!
Hello, love this tutorial. ❤ One question, when i make this i followed exactly and it turned out right but at the very end, the instructions says to do 18 sc before doing the corner however in the squares i've done, there were 17 st between. What did i do wrong exactly? Bc it looks the same as yours. Thanks for the video :)
I don't understand, I've done this twice now, stopped to pause after every few seconds literally slowed it down so I could copy your exact movements and twice I've ended up with a sun with only 11 rays :(
I suggest you try someone else’s sun pattern. There are many out there. They talk you through it. It’s to hard to read and watch at same time. I did the same thing you did.
hi, i want to ask, do you have to do 2 stitches-ch2-2 stitches in the chain 2 space? what if i want to use half double crochet? does the pattern still same?
Simple. To the point. Challenging. I just love this tutorial even though I don't usually keep up with subtitled tutorials! I did 2 granny squares using this tutorial!!! Plus it was sooo much fun to make. And thankfully my granny squares' sun rays are curved. I followed every single detail. Thank you so much for this lovely tutorial. I turned the notification button on so PLEASE do make other future tutorials. Much love.
This is the best tutorial I have ever watched; you've made it very easy and clear to follow because you aren't blocking anything with your fingers like others tend to do. Subbed! I'm going to go down a rabbit hole of all your tutorials.

Thank you so much! Okay ill put moon with a star in my list, i hope i can make it, nice idea 👍❤️🫶
This is the clearest video tutorial I have ever seen! I love how you keep your fingers out of the way and go slowly for the important parts! Subbed.
This was a fantastic tutorial, I had a lot of fun making it!
I messed up at some point and made 13 sun points instead of 12 but it still came out amazing in my opinion.
Great work!
Omg! Thank you! I read your post and realised i had made a similar mistake that was driving me crazy!! lolz I had somehow only done 11 points???
@@kymhampshire5560 i also only got 11!! :')

❤❤❤❤❤Congratulations, I don't speak English, I'm learning more. You show me exactly how to do it, thank you, I loved it.
This is perfect! I’m going to make a bag for my friend using this. She love the sun and moon character from fnaf.
I love the sun sun, moon stars pattern too!
Your friend clearly has good taste, these were also my favourite characters in the latest fnaf game 😌
Hello!👋Thank you for such a MK!🙏She knitted the "Zodiac Signs" tablecloth and such cup holders are relevant for her!I will definitely connect you!🌹🌹🌹
I wish we had left hand crochet
Watch in mirror. My granddaughter learned by sitting facing me.

You could also probably screen record a video and then go into settings on your edit video in your photo app and just flip it.

Dumb question, would following this pattern also work if you're left handed?
Got it down to 6 cm, want to make an even smaller square but I probably need one of those large lit magnifying lenses.
Such a great tutorial, thanks for sharing! Do you have a pattern for a bigger version of this square? Blanket size!

. Muchas gracias 🤗💝
This sleepy dreamtime lullaby music pairs impeccably with the tutorial.
What is the size of the square?
13x13cm
Started a blanket with this square today, and am in love with it. Just curious, which method did you use to join the squares? Thanks!

¡Maravilloso! Inmediatamente comenzaré a tejerlo. Cariños desde Chile.
Am super excited to try it, it's gorgeous 😍
Thank you, the tutorial is great! But why do we have to cut the yellow yarn at 10:27?
I wish there was a voice over for this video to make it to where I didn't have to pause and rewind so much but other than that it's a great tutorial!!

Do you have a video where you sew these together to make a blanket?
Lovely! You can make a bunch of these and frame them for gifts. I might embroider some silver stars
I'm in love, this is soooo beautiful! THANK YOUUUU 🥰
Que bellezaaa❤. Saludos desde Salta, Argentina
👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽Yayyy! I did it! Your tutorial was magnificent🤗 Your instructions were direct and very easy to follow. Thank you.

I love that look too. I'll try this one. I just saw your sun pattern but I love the moon.
@creggyscrochet oooo ty! I am going to take a look at what you're talking about and try it! I think it's so worth the twisting, though.

Hello, maybe you forgot 1 stitch from the previous round, always check the total countings after you finish every round :)) tysm for watching 🫶❤️

That exact same thing happened to me until I tried again. Maybe you didn’t make a stitch in the correct place?
Maybe on round 4, you 2 dc into the first stitch instead of the slip stitch
I suggest you try someone else’s sun pattern. There are many out there. They talk you through it. It’s to hard to read and watch at same time. I did the same thing you did.
Omg me too!! First time it was 10! Second was 11! Now I’m on my Third!! I’ve written it out and watched and re watched I don’t get it.
