Your right I am starting to find a few more - black tactical,Veddars and we the people. The sights seem to be a might high. I ended up selling the pistol before I even shot it. But I appreciate the help.
Thank you for sharing this with the subscribers. I’m surprised that you didn’t actually try the pistol. I’ve had no problems fitting it to any of my US grunt gear Holsters. It doesn’t matter whether you have an optic or suppressor heights sites, their holsters simply work. The great thing about having a holster that allows you to run suppressor hides sides or optics is you don’t have to keep changing Holsters trying to find something that will. I’ve been using Holsters for over a decade. I put them through the ringer and they’ve held up. I also like the fact that US Grunt Gear is a veteran owned and operated business. The owner is not only a veteran….He’s also an active competitive shooter with great skills. I’ve tried all the holsters that you mentioned in your comments and I think they work fine but they do very much limit your options. Yes, they’re less expensive but then you end up buying two or three holsters to fit around the way you set up your pistol. Anyway. I greatly appreciate your comments and insight and hope you will share the channel with friends and family.
I picked this up in Alabama around 6 months ago for $397 after taxes with 4 mags and a carry bag. That was a steal imo and a really fun gun to shoot and easily concealed. By far my favorite polymer gun by Smith. Highly recommend it.
@ I bought that gun a year ago like last November from Academy Sports in Dothan. I got a Veteran discount plus put it on my Academy Card for an even deeper discount. You won’t find it for that now unless Smith has a rebate still ongoing.
New subscriber here! I like your content and presentation. Several months ago I won a bid for a new in box S&W M&P 2.0 Compact 9mm. The unit has the curved, hinged trigger. I also have a disability to my right(dominant)hand, so I transition to my left hand. This pistol is very accurate and a pleasure to shoot. However, I will be installing a Apex duty class trigger as the hinged trigger makes it difficult to get my left hand index finger low enough to get good purchase to get consistently accurate shots. My left index finger middle joint is fused so the flat face of the Apex should help me get the consistent accuracy I'm looking for. I had the index and middle fingers of my right hand cut off but replaced after being injured in Vietnam in 1971. Great review of the M&P 2.0 Compact! BTW, I was able to get the Compact for $424 on my bid so adding the Apex would approximate the cost of a new M&P with it's "flat faced " trigger.
Sir, thank you for sharing your experience and story with the subscribers. I think the Apex trigger works very well for many people. I think that’s a good option to try if the current trigger isn’t working for you. Thank you for your subscription. We certainly appreciate it!
I have a M&P 1.0 and never had a problem working the trigger. Then I bought my PC Shield plus and now I struggle with the trigger on the 1.0. Then I bought the Metal Competitor. (I love my Smith’s)
Sir, I do not have access to one. I have heard good things about them, but also some issues with their magazines. The people I know who have them speak very highly of their performance. If you’re interested in, trying a pistol that you’re not sure about I highly recommend going to a gun store that has a shooting range. In many cases they allow Customers to pay a small rental fee, buy some ammunition and test a pistol. I hope this helps!
Great video... I have a shield plus with optic.. is this m&p 2.0 better you think? Not sure in getting this in a 4in or 3.6in barrel. Or maybe the M&P9 Shield Plus Carry Comp 4in barrel Any suggestions... thank you very much...
I use the gun without the red dot, surpressor sights only, and find that they are easier to aquire and align on target than standard height sights. Still on target.
Sir, thank you for watching. I don’t find much difference in the conceal ability of the 3.6 versus the 4 inch barrel. Both of them are fine pistols. I really don’t think you could go wrong with either! Thanks for commenting. Stay safe.
Have the 4 inch 15 round compact and the 3.6 12 round 9c for summer carry. Now you can put the 15 round slide in the 9c as well as the 17 and 23 round mags in the 9c. The 9c conceals better, almost as well as shield plus. It shoots better than shield plus, less snappy, for me. Remember it is the grip that prints through your shirt. Shoot well
Probably my next purchase. Can you get one with manual safety ? Also , does it come in 45 acp ? Where did you find your belt and pouch on your rig ?? Thanks, really enjoyed this informative video.
You can put a safety on all the m&p m2.0’s or buy it equipped. They use to have a m2.0 subcompact 45 that was an 8 round gun that matched the size of the original m&p 45 compact (m1.0). Those are pretty much exactly the same size as the compact 9 and 40. They no longer produce that model as I can’t find it on their online catalog.
Yes, you could absolutely get one with an external safety. Many people like that and that’s why Smith provides options. I’m not familiar with the compact version of this in .45 ACP. Your best bet would be to go to the Smith & Wesson website and check out what the options are. Thank you for watching and commenting.
They work just fine. The only modification I did to the sites was to use a sharpie to color in the two dots on the rear site. I prefer a front site focus and trying to balance three dots has never worked for me. I likely will put a hole of Sun ESP 6 MOA Green Dot on this pistol.
Hola buenas tardes desde Perú, si comparas la glock gen 5 en el frame con la smith & wesson cual seria de mejor calidad o más resistente al trabajo duro en el tiempo y resistencia entre las 2 armas? Desde ya gracias por tu respuesta.
I wanna order this but I’m used to using standard sights on all my pistols. Online store has a great deal on it right now , my question is, are these type of sights harder to use then standard ones. I’m not intending on getting a red dot on it , n the sights that it comes with are also night sights
Sir, there are a couple of different options of this pistol. So you can get standard sites with it and even have the pistol set up without the cut in the slide for a red dot optic. All you have to do is go to Smith and Wesson site and find the compact version that fits your needs. As far as using suppressor height site on a regular handgun, there is no difference in my opinion, unless you’re looking for a deep carry pistol and want lower profile site. I’ve never had a problem with suppressor heights sites and conceal ability. Still, there are lots of options that Smith and Wesson provides. Thank you for watching ! Stay safe.
I have the hinged trigger on the M&p 2.0 OR compact. This was the pistol I have had trouble finding the holster without the red dot. I have found some cheaper holsters on Amazon and a Falco. I have found some Ameriglo sight protector sw434 which are not supressor height sights but it seems it’s a task to remove the front dove tail. Any advise from anyone apreciated.
Reach out to US grunt gear. Tell them Wish SE sent you Robert can recommend a holster for you. I’m using one of his holsters with the pistol shown in this video.
Sir, thank you so much. Yes, after posting this video I saw Smith & Wesson came out with an incentive in the last few days. I appreciate you watching and commenting.
I’m glad there are more up-to-date videos.

Where at I live in Alabama also

Can you do a review on the Springfield Armory Echelon?
Sir, I do not have access to one. I have heard good things about them, but also some issues with their magazines. The people I know who have them speak very highly of their performance.

Luv the M&P line. I have some first gens and just picked a Pro Series special
Thomas, like you I happen to feel the same way about these pistols. Thank you for watching and thank you for commenting.
Smith and Wesson had it bundled with a Crimson Trace red dot and a Crimson Trace rail mounted light. Not bad at $600.
Yes, sir, that sounds like a very good deal. I appreciate you watching and commenting.
It's a ok deal if you plan on switch out that hot garbage later on
I use the gun without the red dot, surpressor sights only, and find that they are easier to aquire and align on target than standard height sights. Still on target.
Great review! I’m interested in the 3.6” compact.

You can get one with a manual safety. There is a .45 ACP version but it’s not a compact. It’s a long slide model with a 5” threaded barrel.
You can put a safety on all the m&p m2.0’s or buy it equipped. They use to have a m2.0 subcompact 45 that was an 8 round gun that matched the size of the original m&p 45 compact (m1.0). I have one of these coming next week in flat dark earth, can't wait!
Yes. The flat dark earth look is very sweet! Let us know how you like the pistol.

Really- I think all the current top holster makers make a holster for you. Tier 1 is one of many.
$75 rebate on these from S&W until ~18JUL, I think?
Yes, sir! There is.
Very good compact pistol. Highly recommended. Thank you for watching and commenting. I hope you will subscribe.
Now S&W is offering a rebate and you can get it for under $500
