We're constantly impressed by your positivity though! The vlogs have such a good feel to it when you guys are just happy regardless of what happens. Especially considering how much traveling can get you down when sh!t goes wrong.

Flying out from bangkok at the start of covid, my flight was diverted -after check-in - to bangkok's OTHER international airport ...
I’m so impressed that after a year of travel this is the first form of transportation you’ve missed...especially since you’re known for cutting it close haha. I went to Ireland for 10 days and even though I’m always on time for everything I ended up missing the only bus we prepaid for and losing about $50 and having to take the slow bus to Dublin. Just like you, we literally watched the bus we had paid for pull away but we were too late! So I feel your pain!

Just fyi, those round potatoes are called 'noisettes' (they're French). They're not usually included in a 'chivito', but still very consumed.

I’m kind of late to the Kara & Nate show, so I’m bing watching through your old videos. I was surprised by this one, since you guys have become known (at least to me) for getting to the airport 8-12 hours early! So what was different. Aahhh ….. If only they had a lounge at the ferry terminal, you would have caught the boat! I can’t wait to make it through the rest of your videos.

I think all the ferries from Buenos Aires - Montevideo stop in Colonia and then take the bus to Montevideo. Our bus from Colonia to Montevideo blew a tire!!! We saw the tire rolling across the highway - it was crazy! But made it safely!
Also matte is even MORE popular in Uruguay - we heard it referred to as their third arm! haha!

In the beginning you always give yourself plenty of time. I always give myself 3 hours and I always am relaxed.

I flew to Montevideo.... not from EZE, but from the 2nd airport, Jorge Newbury, was with LAN Argentina at the time.....1 hour across the water....saved tons of time....about 140 Euros I think
Strangest chivito I have ever seen. I lived in Montevideo back in the 80's. A chivito back then was a sandwich with thinly sliced roast beef on a bolillo roll topped with mayo, palm of heart, and tomatoes. Looks like y'all ordered breakfast for 4! Looked delicious, though. The video evokes great memories of when I was US Marine guard at the American embassy there.

I know this comment is bit late but been watching all the vids from the start almost watched 300 vlogs can't wait to your adventures up till today!
In the uk, you must be at the port at least an hour before, because you have to clear security and passport control, but depends on were you are going, if to Jersey and Guernsey, no passport control, but for St Malo, there is passport checks

Don't feel bad... We've missed a ferry from Busan SK to Fukuota, Japan. We took the subway to the old ferry terminal not realizing that the new one was a mile away. We were running down the road and a nice man in a van gave us a ride. When we got to the new ferry terminal we had missed the boat by 10 min. We had to pay for a whole new set of ferry tkts and wait another 2hrs for the next one.

Kara, I loved your word "hangry". I also have to say to Kara, I take a lot of pictures and find many females so intolerant of cameras, to see you so friendly to Nate taking your picture is a delight. My beloved wife used to HATE getting her picture taken, and I always wanted more of her in my pictures. You two are such a delight.

Missing Ferry shows how real life of traveler and food looks good but sir please always ask for takeaway its saves maybe a buck for budget traveler and can you add an segment in your food review if they do serve vegetarian food if yes what is it, you don't have to eat it.

That frustration you felt was counterfactual thinking combined with loss aversion. The counterfactual part is being able to easily imagine a world in which you made the boat; if you'd missed it by an hour you wouldn't have felt as bad because it would be hard to imagine a few slight changes that would have let you make the connection. In a similar way, Olympic silver medalists aren't as happy as bronze medalists -- it's easy for the second place winners to imagine having won the gold, so it feels more like a loss. I mean, FYI only. : )

Ok, not watching this until 2023, but looking through the comments, I can’t help but ask (since nobody else did): You just did a “30 countries last year” video. And then you said Uruguay was #45! By my count, Argentina was #31, and Uruguay was #32. So what are the other countries, and when did you got there? Best travels!
Montevideo is pretty old fashioned. They should have at least been upgraded to Montedvd or monteblueray 😂🤣
