Deep meditation, like we see in Zen, is overlooked as a psycho-therapeutic aid. I have meditated on and off for most of my life and have recently turned a corner that has changed me. It took a lot of work and determination, and many small "understandings" and emotional downturns. I recently read a scientific study of Zen that stated the ultimate goal is the complete opening of the unconscious and its reunification with the conscious mind, creating the "one mind" that is our true nature, and this makes a lot of sense, but I think it is only one aspect of the experience. In any case, psychotherapists need to investigate this further as I believe it could help those willing to make the effort, probably those who have hurt the deepest and the longest.
At about 11:35, if he had just said what the 12 psychological capacities in advanced meditators (researchers have just discovered that they thought were impossible), I might have been more interested.

Science has never been about memorizing facts in that when one conveys such data are they afforded the recognition as erudite and learned, as if they're illustrious - this is pretentious. Science is about exploration, curiosity, expedition, and this is a long road in trial and error. One can always tell who is true and who's not, because the pretentious ones never discuss that which is unknown, for they cannot, for he who doesn't put the work in doesn't attain the perks & accolads. For today we have sophists like angel4everable who thinks she's prestigious from quoting some existentialists, and denies whatever is not thoroughly objective and proven - this woman has no impulsion or desire to set out on an expedition so discovering the unknown. She's what's known as a sophist. The entire "guilty until proven innocent" treatment - for there's no God until "i can touch, control and manipulate him" like we do everything else that concerns science.

Transpersonal psychology may very well be a way to find out much more about consciousness and the mind. It may even answer questions about religion as well.
Materialists have been screaming that there is no proof of supernatural existence beyond physical, not noticing that they have been carrying this supernatural existence inside their heads ALL THEIR LIVES.... ie., their power of Awareness with Free Choice... ...as I have been warning everyone, Godlessness can turn your IQ into vegetable, so, be very careful of what you choose to believe or choose not to believe...
Yes. First you need a physics and neurology of consciousness. Now we can think of brains as massively parallel water-based quantum fractal holographic emitters. Those energetic thought forms are more/less coherent. And everything is entangled. We need a new spirituality to replace our now untenable myth-based religions. This is the only path forward for humanity.

Everyone is at the mercy of some preconceived authority that we inherent when we are born. We just happen to be born during a time that hold science and empirical data at the height of truth. Good or evil acts can be committed in the name of anything, whether it’s science or religious authority. That being said, we have to take our knowledge for granted and work with what we have.
