The similarities between Hindu and Abrahamic theology are 1. Belief in the existence of soul and body, 2. The soul being an element of supreme being, 3. The soul dwells in Graves and will be incarnated on the day of judgement in Islam, whereas, the soul takes another birth on the earth itself according past deeds till nirvana, in Hinduism. 6. Brahma the creator, vishnu the sustainer, maheswar the destroyer prevail in three forms in Hinduism, whereas one form that is Allah, in Islam. 7. God takes anthropomorphic form for revival of Dharma in Hinduism, whereas God sends prophets and books for revival in Islam and He is unfathomable, unseen and expressed in His creation for appreciation by man. The Aryan deities, the Nature as deities, the anthropomorphic shapes, the rites and rituals were added to basic Hindu thought over time for assimilation and social order, but were alien to basic Hindu philosophy. I think you are making a fundamental mistake in understanding the term: The correct term is 'Abrahamic Religions' (plural), and not 'Abrahamic Religion' (singular); so, if it is not singular, then it is not a new religion. Rather, what is being claimed is 'a group of religions' , having Prophet Abraham as the main common character, binding those religions (mainly three religions - Judaism, Christianity, Islam) into 'One Group', but certainly not 'One Religion'.

And now a bit more on the concept of 'Abrahamic Religions' (remember the plural form, not singular). Followers of earlier prophets and avtaar if worship one creator and accept and respect last prophet, it would be good for them as for Muslims they believe in earlier prophets and know number of prophets is as high as 124000. And about avtaar of Hindu, muslims don't disrespect them whole acknowledging fact there's no recorded info on their being prophets.
