This will hopefully start to bring the war nearer to the end. The U.K is leading the way not the like U.S.A which is dragging it's feet seeing what the other countries are doing first. Russia, why does nobody immigrate to your country? Why do you have the largest land mass in the world yet 1/10th the US 's economy? What do you actually provide that doesn't come from under the ground?
A little sad that you didn't include any visit to the colourful temples, or to the Royal Palace or the floating markets. I remember them as being very colourful on my only trip to Thailand, many years ago. I would have thought those Russians you encountered there, were those fleeing the draft. Many of the more prominent Russian bloggers seem to have left Russia for that reason. Ukraine thankfully, seems to be intercepting more of the Russian missiles they are firing at Ukraine. The Russian victory parade on 9th May, seemed to be very subdued compared to previous years. Even the Wagner group seem tired of the meat grinder around Bakmut, complaining of their lack of ammo supplies. As the weather improves, I hope and trust, the Ukrainian troops can finally drive Putin's forces from Ukrainian soil and life can get back to normal for the brave Ukrainian people. He got a job and was living in his car for a while. The other a fun loving party guy who'd come by an organization I was in. Neither were rude but they were a little weird, especially the engineer.
I never knew about culinary diplomacy before. Thank you! Not a fan of phad thai as a dish, too bland, noodly, and sweet. As far as their support maybe its because the ones you are meeting the ones who can afford to travel, who are basically living a good life, they achieved that life during PUTINs tenure. Prior to Putin the Russian economy was likely even worse than it is now. But they (the 50% support of Putin) you are meeting probably those folks attribute thier ability to travel and and have a decent lifestyle on thier leader providing a good enough economy pre-war.
