I respect them for doing what they like. The only unsatisfactory part is how light the sparring weapons seem.
The same underlying mechanics to move something heavy fast as possible are the same ones to move something light, as fast as possible
The weapons are light. It's a game of stick tag, not reenactment or Buhurt. That being said, folks from these foam sports tend to do pretty well crossing over into heavier hitting sports.
