I need an experts advice, I'm trying to bring either my old re se dual 4 ohm or my 18 in h kicker comp4 yes old school speaker, been sitting in my garage for 20 years or so. I'm try to bring a car sub in my house and run it off a QSC rmx 1450 amp. Can I do it and if so will it bang harder than my 2 powered klipsch 12 in, subs. They really don't pound like my re did in my Tahoe but I was running a 1300 watt amp at 2 ohms. Please help. Thanks in advance 😮
Love those new amps. JP needs to start having his own subwoofers and making all those pretty colors for his subwoofers. He could also have colored subwoofer carbon fiber dust caps.
Very nice, comprehensive video, as always! It looks like a very solid amp, especially for a mini. I guess I’ve grown to expect more from D4S…. I bought my Jp8 on your recommendation, and I have been extremely happy with it so far (It’s only been around 4 months, so far). I feel like this mini amplifier should at least have a remote with clipping light (s).
THIS WAS THE VIDEO I HAVE BEEN WAITING ON‼️ After watching your video I immediately hit the affiliate link and bought this amp! This is going to be my tweeter amp, pushing 4 super tweeters. My JP95 is ofcourse going to be pushing my 8 D.B. 6.5 mids and 2 Sundown SLD 12's. Thank you for what ya do! I really enjoy your videos. I probably watched the JP95 video 100 times before I bought one😂

Looks like I just found my next amps. This is exactly what I've been looking for. Do this and their 1000w for my sub. Small footprint and makes good power. I'm sold and the price is fantastic. Have you done a test on this series mono amps? Curious if they make their rated power as well. Not a big deal 850 is actually a little more than my jl w3 needs anyway.

Thanks for another great vid. This is the first of the JP amps that is going in my car and it landed at my house this week. It will end up running rear fill and center channels. Going to go with an 84 and 23 for the other two to run everything else. I love the throwback design and have wanted to replace my Pioneer Champion Series with these just because of the look and they are solid performers.

Another great video D. Yeah the RCA's are a bummer but the skittle like colors JP is doing is awesome. Now which ones to get is the queation and in what color? Hope the mono and 2 channel ones get tested as well.

They're finally doing multiple heatsink color options BUT 3 MAJOR improvements they need to make, even at an additional $20 on the price tag... 1) A bass remote, this is a MUST, 2) A sexier mounting plate (or an optional mounting adapter for an upcharge) AND an etched or CNC'd branded plexi bottom plate for those who plan to install the amp "upside down" which leads into #3... 3) an LED lighting (option or standard) for "u[side down" mounting installs. None of these three things would cost D4S much to add once the tooling (which is EXPENSIVE) is in place. Again, the bass remote is necessary on almost EVERY amp now and the bottom mount premium items could be an upcharge or just add $30 to the price outright. they already have CNC/milling work done to the plexi bottom plate and to add internal LED lighting (a fixed color or selectable, powered and turned on by the remote lead input) would be an inexpensive premium feature. If Jensen (Dual) can do it in a $99Retail WM sold amp series on their amps, D4S can for sure... yes, the amps are still sold there, literally saw a 4-channel last night here in Central FL.. The LED lighting feature would cost less than $2 per amp (with programmable LEDs) in a mass production scenario but add exponential value to many consumers. To do these things as a customer would be ez if you know what you're doing but would void the amp's warranty. It would also cost much more for most customers to have a new plexi bottom plate created because most people don't have a CNC machine or a good router/router table/bits, etc. Those of us who do, we just do BUT custom installers are a small niche of the consumer market as a whole. The Jensen amps are awesome (I'm a retro car audio enthusiast, turn 46 this month... a Valentine's baby, as my son is) and I would never have bought a Jensen amp back in the late 1990's/early 2000's. The current generation of amps are the best on the market $/watt/features, IMO. The sub amp needs a bass restoration/bass knob interface (less than $60 0r even $50 with sales tax currently), Dual needs to add that physical feature and can even charge another $20 to that amp. Cooling is the only other issue but experienced car audio people should have amp cooling in their system designs anyway. Energy is disbursed via heat and a HOT amp is a much less efficient amp while running fire hot. The crossover points on this D4S amp are AWESOME. They have made these amps truly user-friendly for 4-way systems and max flexibility. After Kicker made the 'clip light' extremely popular in the previous 'ZX' series of amps, why doesn't everyone add this capability. It makes setting the gain so much easier for novices or experienced installers alike. I'm a very experienced installer (not an SPL juggernaut or psycho like EXO (check him out on YT guys, he is awesome, Big D is the best though) but have gotten lazy with modern amp tech in the last few years. Having a clip light on every amp makes installation so much easier, surely. Why Kicker abandoned that feature is beyond me. The competition is so good now, even with budget amps competing with premium brands, that it's just better (if you invest into great cooling) to pay less than $200USD for a 2k RMS amp than to pay $900+. DB/sound quality and efficiency (both are extremely important) make the difference, even between budget brands. If a $99 or $200 amp burns up after a while, replacing it (there is almost always a manufacturers warranty for at least 1 year) is still much cheaper than paying hundreds or a $thousand more. At least paying $300 or less for my amps in my daily driver, if it gets broken into... I'm not out thousands of dollars, save that set up for you premium ride. Plus, having a system which is 'stock' in appearance (a removable subwoofer) and flexible with crossover settings, etc. (versatile and budget friendly), let's me even leave my doors unlocked around town. Putting a brand's sticker on your windows is an advertisement for thieves. Car alarms 99% are easily defeated. Real car audio pirates are not deterred by them. Being all-in at under $1k for a stealth system, not including sound deadening, where the only component somewhat easy to steal would be the subwoofer (secure everything and you may experience cosmetic damage but no real loss) so you don't even need to be concerned about theft. Btw, use magnets as an installation medium (I don't know of anyone else doing this but me, have been using them for several years.) to secure components and such which are visible. No thief is going to defeat a magnet mounted/installed system. They will not even figure it out and if they were to do so, it would take way to long to figure it out and how to remove components. They will just move on as jail is not worth trouble to steal things they can hock for pennies. I wish car audio stuff was as inexpensive and with so many options 20-25 years ago! Keep u the work, Big D! "Ya big dummy!" (best catchphrase ever and love some Sanford & Son, still watch clips on YT to this day). Derek enriches all of us but he needs to do more videos on California Profile amps and obscure/forgotten 1990's/early 2000's components. Sorry for the essay, it's what I do.
In the Mexican market there are some AUDIOLABS brand amplifiers, SPL Monster Mini model with 1 and 4 channels. It would be interesting for you to try them on the test bench, since for the price and power they seem to be very worthwhile.
The common school of thought with the in or the out of a buttons function is usually related to which can be triggered in error and what would be the damage or lack thereof as the overriding concern. That presumes one knows if users are more likely to inadvertently tap it in to release or if it catches to in when bumped in error. The little Taramps 400.4 is a little firecracker too. 200x4 at 2, 400x2, bridged. Gobs of good power are farily cheep these days!
I bought the MM1004 in orange to match my car but can't run it as it goes into protect mode at low to moderate volume, especially playing digital music. I have an old JVC 65w x 65w with only thermal protection that plays everything, even low quality digital tracks off RUclips louder & cleaner without going into protect mode. Being the MM1004 is class D, it makes everything sound digitally shrill. All my class AB amps sound cleaner and more linear than this one. I finally went with the Seventour 90W x 4 on Amazon which has the power I want, smooth linear sound, and doesn't false-protect on me. Plus it eats up any low quality digital garbage tracks I feed it without shutting down. The Seventour is a beast compared to the MM1004.. The MM1004 also has more engine noise than the Seventour. The MM1004 is junk in my book as I run my amps hard and it shuts down under pressure. I had high expectations and really wanted the MM1004 to work out.
It's nice to know that in at least some cases, technology is being used to produce products that are smaller, less expensive, and actually make our lives better...
Parts express has a few chip amps that are tiny and really powerful. Sure makes a 4 x 100 that will handle 39v and dayton has a new bluetooth amp series called the kabd series amps with a powerful dsp built in. I think both the dayton and the sure will run 36v and you can daisy chain the dayton into an 8 ch amp with built in independantly adjustable crossovers and eq levels. Pretty trick for a mobile setup that weighs under a pound.
Still no “successful “ Dyno of the mm1000 hopefully there’s not a mass issue with them , I have the mm1004 and Mm1000 ready to go hoping to see a test first
@@MarkJohnston-if5eo thanks for getting back to me bro, I'm glad everything is working good for you, a RUclips short would've been nice to see how it's sounding.
All I can say is, D4S JP Amps are some badazz Amps!! I have quite a few of them. I’m currently running a JP84, and 3 JP 23v2 in my Tahoe set up, and I tilt on em pretty good! For the money and Quality of product your getting, you can’t beat it!!
Those jp23v2 draw a lot of amps? Do you have upgraded alternator or multiple? I have 1 of those I may run in a car but worried about how much its gonna draw
@mcsqueegee81, not if you have your electrical right. I’m running a mechman 320amp alt, dual XSpower D3400 under my hood, 3 XSpower D5100 in the back, and all 1/0 wiring. Those JP23v2 is rated for 300 amp fuses , I’m only running 200amp fuses in my fuse blocks, and I run it a lot of times for minutes at a time one click from clipping, never have a problem.
I smoked my jp23v2 in less than 10 minutes dialing it in with dd1 and cc1. I was wired at .5 ohms, actually set the amp on fire while was still playing. I have dual 300a alts, 2 big AGMs, and 4 runs of 3/0. 2 months later d4s gave me store credit bc I didn't want the replacement amp as I bought a DB AAK4K for my single Avatar stu 12 @.5
Per request, in the future, please do dyno & SQ test on an amp called: Tube Drive Blue from Butler Audio, something I always wanted to see, thanks Big D Wiz.
One thing I've always wondered is if generally an amp performes best at 14 something volts and the amp itself is 12v ,then why not make an amp 9.5 to 10 volts and then when it's connected to 12volts would be able to get the most from it, and wouldn't that make them more efficient ,seems to me like it would.
From my experience, when it comes to amplifiers, home or car. Generally the small ones have a tendency to run hotter, being compact components really don't have enough room to breathe or dissipate Heat. I would rather it be twice the size, that also brings the price down. More expensive to miniaturize. Electronics hates Heat. After Time specifications start to change as it starts to wear out from high temperatures. When going in a computer room generally ice-cold from the air-conditioning, make sense ?
I see you’ve never been in a data center. They are not kept “ice cold”. More recent designs are kept around 80°. Seeing as how more hardware is kept in data centers than any local server rooms it says a lot about heat and electronics.
Still debating on going D or AB or my mids & highs. How much of a difference would there be and have you tried a comparison? The small size is really nice but I'm more concerned with sound quality.
120x4 is more than most door speakers can handle unless you cross out the bass. Small is what you want for this. If you want to prevent screenshotting the work sheet. Insert a clip between every 3rd or 4th frame randomize it to make pausing on it very hard. I am sure there is a way to do it faster than one by one. Either way its about 40 frame inserts for about 5 seconds. You will have to play with it a bit to get it right. Its not fool proof but it makes it tedious to get a clean screen shot.
Ah it’s all good people will still do it and it has my YT channel baked in but I’m just tryna get people to watch instead of taking the cheating route 😉
That way you only piss off regular viewers who now can't pauze and read. You can always take a screenshot while the video runs, and we all have smartphones to make an old fashioned picture of a screen if you want to steal the data. The world is already full of measures to combat a small group, pissing off the large group in the process.

Interesting amplifier. Are there any car amplifiers with a 24 db bass filter? several pioneer car radios have 12db/24db bass filter but have only seen car amplifiers with 12db bass filter
Hey Williston I love all your videos man I've been. Watching for a few years now and finnaly u convinced me with that last video I'm gonna buy than 1500watt stinger amp thanks for the review but what I was gonna say is can u retest that stinger amp u had or next time u test a amp can u run a test on the dyno at about 12 volts because I wanna know the watts I'm running when I bass hard and drop to around 12 volts because I know at 14.4 we get the most but we do drop volts so thanks Williston reach back to me ❤
When you were connecting the amp you connected the front rca's to the dyno and the rear ro resisters. What happens if you just keave the rear rca's unconnected?
Thanks for the very detailed review and really got my interest to purchase one, just wanted to confirm does the pigtail RCA adapters come with the amp?
Good stuff as always! Infinity has a Primus line for entry-level gear with a loaded 12 enclosure for $99 on Woot! Think you can get your hands (and cameras) on one?
Skar should scrap and start over. Bought four EVLs 6.5, running off of 800 watts so 200 watts per sun, subs are falling apart. Put DCs in the box that was way too big for them and they banged. Bought a 900.5, gets super burning hot. 1500.1 I got and blew out in two months. Went to DC subs and JP amps, not a single issue.
I’m def grabbing this in green to match my new jp green micro amp for my car , with 4 6.5 d4s highs and mids and a single q class 12 kicker kinda middle sq / bass slapper! Lol
I've watched you videos on both, really good insight on this brand. Which would you recommend if space is somewhat limited, the MM 1004 or the JP84? I realize there is a 300W RMS difference, but for more of an SQ setup for my fronts, is there a noticeable difference in sound quality that would make the JP84 a better choice in spite of the lower power?

What are you smoking
Just got a black one Black Friday sale $130.80 can’t beat it
In the Mexican market there are some AUDIOLABS brand amplifiers, SPL Monster Mini model with 1 and 4 channels. It would be interesting for you to try them on the test bench, since for the price and power they seem to be very worthwhile.
Big D with D4S in the house, I already know it wont be a mikey mouse program. Great stuff like always🔥🔥🔥
Or Mickey Mouse 😒
JP has came out with some nice amps and I would use them over most anything else
MM 1000/1 next ???
I would love to run these JP amps but if you run SQ like myself, these amps are very noisy and do not sound good
This is pretty much exactly the amp I asked JP for in a previous video. Looks like im pulling out the wallet like I said I would.
It's nice to know that in at least some cases, technology is being used to produce products that are smaller, less expensive, and actually make our lives better...
I'm kind of liking the plug in "rca in". Seems to me you can make a cleaner and tighter install.
It makes it easier to plug those right into a dsp without sourcing short rca’s.
I love big D's
Reviews
Parts express has a few chip amps that are tiny and really powerful. Sure makes a 4 x 100 that will handle 39v and dayton has a new bluetooth amp series called the kabd series amps with a powerful dsp built in. I think both the dayton and the sure will run 36v and you can daisy chain the dayton into an 8 ch amp with built in independantly adjustable crossovers and eq levels. Pretty trick for a mobile setup that weighs under a pound.
Still no “successful “ Dyno of the mm1000 hopefully there’s not a mass issue with them , I have the mm1004 and Mm1000 ready to go hoping to see a test first
I'm thinking of picking up a mm1004, since my 4 channel burnt out on me.
Stereo Mojo just dropped a dyno video for the mm1000
Install completed, a week in and they are both working great!!!
@@MarkJohnston-if5eo thanks for getting back to me bro, I'm glad everything is working good for you, a RUclips short would've been nice to see how it's sounding.
Thank you I was just looking at this now. I will know if. I need to buy it or not
All I can say is, D4S JP Amps are some badazz Amps!!
You should try the RCA plugs they are a big sound improvement
Wow I was thinking about getting a pioneer gme 360.4. Now I saw this one and it's in same price range as the pioneer. Thank you for changing my mind
I have the pioneer. It's not a bad choice by any means.
@@pioneerman4417 I might get to power my tweeters and use the mm 100.4 for my door speakers
Damn i been waiting on this! Im 4 seconds in
Finally a mini max video. Thanks dude 👊
My daughter loves when I order d4s. She gets all the candy and a lot of bass😂
Per request, in the future, please do dyno & SQ test on an amp called: Tube Drive Blue from Butler Audio, something I always wanted to see, thanks Big D Wiz.
Shout to JP definitely a great product
Thank you for the review bud. I will make them stronger. To da Maxxx
Wanna see the minimaxx 1500.1
Been waiting for a review on these. Thank you
Looks like a perfect mids/high amp
One thing I've always wondered is if generally an amp performes best at 14 something volts and the amp itself is 12v ,then why not make an amp 9.5 to 10 volts and then when it's connected to 12volts would be able to get the most from it, and wouldn't that make them more efficient ,seems to me like it would.
I’m hoping to see a video on the new MM monoblock! Looks promising
Have you been in a car in the summer?
I see you’ve never been in a data center. They are not kept “ice cold”. More recent designs are kept around 80°. Seeing as how more hardware is kept in data centers than any local server rooms it says a lot about heat and electronics.
Thinking about grabbing this for 2 sets of jl audio c3 6.5's component.
I have the JP 23 and the JP 23 4 chanel the best amps I have ever had
Awesome amp, appreciate you doing these Big D!
Still debating on going D or AB or my mids & highs. How much of a difference would there be and have you tried a comparison? The small size is really nice but I'm more concerned with sound quality.
Does kinda suck that the market is so small we have to see so many d4s videos. Wish there were more manufactures so we could see more diversity.
great job D! love seeing new vids, great channel......
I send people to your channel! You are appreciated!!
Thank you 🙏
Still love the tests and all the D4S stuff
so do you think for year 2023 this kind of brand AMP are recommended for a beginner like me compared to other?
@@wal I enjoy your content. Keep em coming.
That way you only piss off regular viewers who now can't pauze and read.
You can always take a screenshot while the video runs, and we all have smartphones to make an old fashioned picture of a screen if you want to steal the data.
The world is already full of measures to combat a small group, pissing off the large group in the process.
@@walif it helps me and many others shame anyone posting the results instead of a link to the video, you're providing one helluva service for the community and deserve those views
They are on sale right now. I just checked the site
Interesting amplifier.
Are there any car amplifiers with a 24 db bass filter? several pioneer car radios have 12db/24db bass filter but have only seen car amplifiers with 12db bass filter
Man what a value you get with this amp
Just ordered one to run two 6.5" subs.
He doesn't work for them but works with them.
Yes
Good stuff as always! Infinity has a Primus line for entry-level gear with a loaded 12 enclosure for $99 on Woot! Think you can get your hands (and cameras) on one?
Looks like a great deal!
Always good stuff! Much appreciated 😊
only recent, since d4s has improved and started making decent amps.
Wassup Big D love the videos, can we dyno the sundown salt 1700.6 and 2000.6. Thanks
Go5 a a JP63 got it wired at .5 ohm after rise it's seeing 2 ohm only clamping 3700 watts that's at 15.1 volts. So good luck
Perfect for your four 6x9s!
Thank you for another great video man! We will take your recommendations into consideration to make future ones better 😊
Overall this amp is very good! I love to see the progress and things do keep getting better. Easy to see why the D4S amp lineup is doing so well 👌
Can I get tips how to build a 12 volt system in my shop and test bench
9:00 Nice Touch Man.
@@JJRudd405 which did you end up going with? I’m In the same boat as you even though I know it’s been while since you commented this lol
Wish there were distributors for more of these American brands in Australia
