Thanks for this video. I just had this problem but was able to fix it a different way. before you try this method, first have the Chromebook open and hold the power button down for 10 to 15 seconds until the light goes off. It is a force shutdown similar to removing the power like you show here but much easier. Then close the Chromebook, wait another 15 or 20 seconds and open it again. Hopefully it will work. If that fails after a few tries I would probably take it apart like in this video, and if that fails... I don't know.
I'm having a similar problem with mine. It stopped charging. So I opened it and cleaned it out a bit, because my 6 yr old uses it and...crumbs... but it didn't really seem to have any problem. So I unhooked the battery, discharged the static, and tried to restart it. It will say Chrome OS but then it goes black again. It's got a full battery now. I even disconnected the battery again and hooked up the charger to see if that would work... that's actually when it started saying Chrome OS in response to every reboot attempt, but still no real joy. Any advice? I'd really appreciate any advice 🙏
this happened with my asus flip chromebook i sent it for repair and they sent it back saying nothing was wrong with it and it was working again, but what i’m wondering is what actually causes this error is it the screen? the battery? ever since this happened every time i use my laptop i make sure it’s plugged in on charge

What if the screen keeps going black after you power it off
