Your student is very on point. Clearly a great teacher
Great accuracy, speed and stamina. No music, good focus. So much potential.
And he just trains for fun. Not going to be a fighter.
@@GabrielVargaOfficial That's awesome, much respect
Defense is so important and definitely worth investing in.

Any tips for being the holder here? I think this would be great to drill with a partner but you make things look easy 😁
Dude I love your work, I’ve been following you for several years now and your content has helped me with my technique tremendously! Thank you so much!
EXACTLY what I needed to work on! Thanks for the content!
that elbow guard he is doing is a really good habit for self-defense or MMA gloves. Dustin Porier has very good defense for MMA rules, might want to check him out.
And out there exists people that says it doesn't work cause the best way to train is to gain CTE everyday in hard sparring. People will learn to defend after they get tired of being punched.
They couldn't be more wrong
Man your student has his defense on point Gabriel, I am practicing head movement of mine too, so I can dodge and evade more shots coming at me too and this video has helped me out, good luck to your student on his Kickboxing journey! 🥊🎉
Wish more fighters made a point to show off their proteges. Every fighter should make a point to pass the torch.
Nice but it's not only about slip, right? and I have a question, please: Why slipping is that short not going lower as usual in 'boxing'? or do you mean 'this slip' works for any other art like kickboxing and muay Thai not only for boxing? Is this version of slip is the best 1 to work with any art 'safely'? Thx!
Is there any way of doing this solo to get a base on you and repeat repeat repeat till the muscle memory gets imprinted????
Awesome video! Thank you sir.
I see now there is a "low kick championship" fight league". Would love to see a review of that, I winced at every single fight. leg kicks only.
Really impressive work.
Absolutely loved this. Going to be doing this in my training for now on thank you!
His head movement was beautifully small and his guard was remarkably precise. You 100% are swinging around the top of his head on at least half of the roles though. Aim for his shoulders to make em role under
Looks good.
I think that is great training but in my opinion you should have him move around more-- incorporating footwork. Because in the majority of the video his feet are anchored to the floor.
There's nothing wrong with isolating the head movement by itself. If you practice too many different elements at once you can get poor repetitions in and end up wasting your time.
@@christianq1526 maybe so... but you have to be able to put it all together at some point-- slipping/rolling, etc. + footwork help you get offline and achieve a better angle. I know I personally stay too "stuck" in front of my sparring opponents; perhaps that's why I also try to incorporate footwork as well. I'd rather not play "The Matrix" feet planted (reinforcing a bad habit I already have). Again these are my opinions.
I find that isolating head movement, blocks, catching in place works better fundamentals in the beginning. I find a lot of beginners are uncomfortable in “boxing” range and tend to move backwards and creating distance and not working on the skills the drill is attended for. I do get your point. I just personally find that separating defensive footwork then adding back in later tends to get overall better results for most people
Your opinion is great but it's just a different drill I think. I'm sure they do that as well. Varga is a world champ.
one thing at a time esse
Will watching Gabriel Varga videos make me test positive for PEDs?
