I currently serve in the navy, and when I separate in about 18 months I definitely want to go back to school and earn my bachelor's degree in finance, but I gotta say the prospect of going back to school and graduating when I'm 28 years old kind of holds me back from fully commiting. However this video gives me confidence in knowing there are many career paths with the degree. Still, wrapping my head around the fact that I'll be 28 when most kids graduate at 22 or 23 still is a bit of a fear factor for me lol.

Brotha, thank you for your service. Also served in the Navy. 26 years old and just now going back to school for a BS in finance. My mother graduated with a bachelors degree when she was 50. You have a better chance at finding a job than most young people because you have experience.

I got my degree & do not regret it as it opened many doors in my life and has lead to much success. I even went back & got my MBA. That veteran status & more maturity is a plus for most employers.

Great video!!! Thanks so much for the insight!!! For the longest time during my college career, I thought I wanted to go into corporate finance, but during my last few months in grad school, I felt different about it. Instead, I have had a much higher interest in becoming a professor for finance and other business courses like marketing. Is it possible for a person with a bachelors and a masters degree in business administration and finance to get a professor role at a university. It can be community or a regular university. Should I instead focus on getting a doctorate or real-world experience first? Another thought I have had is to have a primary job in a bank, either investment or commercial banking, and then on the side I teach as an adjunct. Then overtime, as I gain more experience, I transition into the academia side full-time.

Hi Dominique I plan on majoring in finance for college and I my dreams are to come out of college with a job that I could make at least 75K-100K then working my way up for a couple years while investing time and money into my own investment firm
Hi! I'm going for a master's in finance but I studied media management/film in undergrad. I want to know what finance type jobs are there in the entertainment business? like studio-head type that deal with trends/box office/film budgeting/ etc.
You're probably looking at more CFO or controller type jobs. THe latter will require much more accounting than a typical consumer facing finance career.
I used to print out financial statements like income , balance, cash flows etc and used to love always handling money transactions working as a host, cashier, and retail store associate and since I was little I always wanted to make a lot of money and find the most efficient way to do that. So I'm majoring in finance. Don't let anyone tell u there's nothing u cant do- if you're good with numbers and are driven to do this then this might strike a chord in your heart to do it

Does this apply to me as well given that I have only done Accounting at the first year level and Economics(Micro and Macro) up to 2nd year level?
