Radical Entertainment are one of the most underrated gaming developers. They always came up with new interesting concepts like the Simpsons Hit and Run, Crash Tag Team Racing, Crash of the Titans, the Prototype series.
It’s a shame the media never gave them the respect they deserve.

I really liked the titans games, which where actually the only crash games I completed as a kid, even though warped and wrath of cortex where some of the first games I ever played. I feel like people dislike them because they're not what they expected from a crash game even though they felt fun and different to me.

No. Never. If any of the Crash games get remade next, it should be Crash Bash. It's the only remaining game from the PS1 era that hasn't been remade yet.

Each era is nostalgia central for me.
I actually really like Crash of the Titans, I didn't really care for Mind Over Mutant and Tag Team Racing was a perfectly fine game, I would say it's overall my least favourite of the eras, but I'm really glad it happened honestly, it showed us a new perspective of the franchise.
I personally think the N Sane era is gonna need something brand new to make it past third place, but the announcement of the N Sane Trilogy is a memory that I'll never forget, I can't think it enough for bringing Crash back.
The Naughty Dog era is probably the objectively best era, but Wrath of Cortex was the first game in the franchise that I ever played, plus Twinsanity is just such a pleasant experience, visually being one of my favourites and having the overall best humour the franchise ever had.
I am yet to actually hate a Crash game, even the worst ones are just kinda mediocre to me, so I can see any of these eras being easy choices for a favourite.
Finally someone who also doesn't think tag team racing is absolutlely awful and killed the franchise instantly I like the game the same as every other crash game
I've seen no problem with Radical Entertainment. I personally, love it! In my opinion, Crash didn't change much. He just gotten more skills, got a mohawk, and received tattoos instead of gloves. The only design I had trouble with getting used to was Crunch. I dunno. why he just looked like some sort of bear in my eyes.
Other than that, I'm okay with Coco's newer outfit, Aku and Uka actually looks like wearable masks, the villains cool looks, Nina's emo/goth look, the newer mutants, the gameplay, and Tiny's look. (I mean, at least he actually looks like a tiger and not some sort of coyote or something)
Went into the comments section to see if it was filled with angry Naughty Dog fanboys crying about how awful the Radical era is. Was not disappointed.
Naughty Dog made Crash 1, 2 and 3 because they had a contract by universal. When universal wanted a crash racing game they asked Naughty Dog to come back for one more game and they agreed.
Naughty Dog went to Sony first as they no longer wanted to work with Universal and be associated with them the game started with block headed characters so they asked Sony to see if this game could be Crash themed and Sony went to Universal and they made a two game deal and Naughty Dog made what would eventually be Crash Team Racing and washed there hands with the series while Eurocom made Crash Bash and then Sony moved on from Crash afterwards. If Universal refused in the first place then CTR would never of happened and ND would of made an entirely different game.

- A remaster is when you use the same game you made some time ago, polish it, make it look prettier, and maybe add some extra content (Games like The Last of Us, and Uncharted: The Nathan Drake Collection are examples of remasters).
- A remake is when you build the same game from the ground up with new tools, and a new engine (Such as with Crash N. Sane Trilogy, and Shadow of the Colossus).
The Naughty Dog era is the best era because that’s where it all started. Plus, without those games we would’ve never had the awesome remakes now.
One of the reasons the CTR remaster is doing so hot in anticipation currently is celebrating the franchise across the board with the inclusion of characters, and easter eggs from other Crash eras. I super agree with you. I’m a fan of the OG era, but I accept everything we ever received from the franchise. Some fans overlook the success of N. Sane Trilogy, and don’t look at what it means positively for the series moving forward! That’s why I’m joyed again.

@@ni8anttana I happen to be a fan of the classic style Crash games from the PS1 era (though Crash Nitro Kart and the remaster games stand out as equally worthy in my opinion) and I can honestly say that a fan of the classic Crash would find the Radical games to be inferior in the lineup. At least compared to the Naughty Dog games. The Radical era nearly alienated me from the series altogether. It's just lucky that my nostalgic memories and my love for the classic Crash games convinced me to return to the series.

Funny because I thought Crash Niro Kart had the best Crash designs (Except for Polar and Pura, they looked weird lol). I will agree that Crash looked cool in Twinsanity and his personality was much more livelier but I guess I'm just a sucker for the OG design and Crash Nitro Kart's render of him was a nice proper update to it (as opposed to Wrath of Cortex....)

Edit: And btw Crunch's best design was in mind over mutant, his personality got fucked hard though, just like Tiny's. Unlike Crunch though, Tiny is terrible in both titan games in general.
Twinsanity, wasn't just an update for the crash series, it was an upgrade. I wish it wasn't rushed so i wouldn't have to prove that and wouldn't cry myself to sleep every night.

@@kidbulblin Ah but see the Naughty Dog Era Crash games don't feel the same. It may seem like they are on the outside but it actually feels like a series progression. Like Crash 2 & 3 feel nothing like Crash 1 (assuming we're talking about the old classic games, not the N.Sane Trilogy).
And I mean WOC is mediocre but it is playable and it at least tried to be somewhat engaging with it's story. That's really the only positive I could give that game. That and the soundtrack, it's actually pretty good haha.
Decadent Gamer I’ve played all 3 of the originals and they all feel very similar to me, and whether or not the differences are that great, it’s definitely nothing compared to twinsanity vs wrath of cortex vs ds games
@@kidbulblin I guess it's just difference of opinion then. When I play Crash 1, it feels dated and heavy. Crash 2 feels more middle-grounded in terms of feeling and then Crash 3 feels the same but the addition of the power-ups switch up the gameplay dynamics a bit.

The Radical era is very underrated IMO, but the Naughty Dog era was definitely the best.
Crash of the titans was a game i grew on and i never understand why peopole hate it so much

Unpopular opinion, but Crash of the Titans is prolly my favorite Crash game. A bit of an underrated gem imo, real solid gameplay, an outside of the box mechanic (which they did before Mario Odyssey), and hilarious often meta jokes. Also, Greg Eagles as Aku Aku, come on

I love the original Crash Trilogy as well as Crash Bash. I also really enjoyed Crash Twinsanity a lot, I felt like it was the step in the right direction for the franchise. Even with Twinsanity’s issues, the game was fun, story was enjoyable with its comedy dialogue and even has some good bosses. Also I’ve never seen a game before have an entire soundtrack made of our just A capella.

What is they added Crash Bash as a game mode for a Twinsanity remaster, but with a bit more content?

Because even though they were originally made by different companies, they are now able to be remade together, like Nitro Fueled, and so instead of releasing a solo Crash Bash or skipping over it, it could be added on. Technically it could be added to Wrath of Cortex also but if they do anything with that game it should be added as DLC for N’Sane, but it is a bit late for that
@@ninjapumpkin0127 seems like a waste of time, those games didn't even sell good, Twinsanity is also based it's theme as not of a nostolgia to the originals and was more self aware of it's self as a more wacky slapstick humor, plus imo a waste of time when they can give us a new proper sequel to Crash warped, I don't see them constantly making remakes of lesser known games that are not even proper crash games like the original 3 are

Twinsanity. My first and still favorite Crash game. Oh I really want a remaster even though they probably wont do it.
While Crash Bash isn't a Naughty Dog game, I'm still inclined to respect it like one, as it was still part of the classic PS1 era. My favourites are the PS1 era, Crash Nitro Kart, and the era with the remasters.
Twinsanity has to be my favorite out of all the games. It took a pretty different approach to the story, music and dialogue, that I loved at a kid. The OG games have their issues because they're older and 3D games were a new concept. I feel like the N-Sane Era has a lot of potential and could even lead to new games, but they're based on the OGs so some issues with difficulty and level design naturally come through.
I like both the Traveller’s Tales era and N.Sane era
I got introduced to the N.Sane era because I wanted to give the series a try and it was worth it.
And as for the Traveller’s Tales era it was decent because I got introduced to the N.sane trilogy and everything felt aged to me.
If their planing to a make remake however, I want them to remake CWOC, Twinsanity and make the canceled game Cortex Chaos. If anyone of you don’t know what the last game I’m talking about is, it was going to be a game that involves Dr.Cortex and it was going to take place after Twinsanity but got scraped.
If anyone of you think this a bad idea don’t attack me with negative comments.
Edit: I want Activision to include all the cut content from Twinsanity to make it feel like a brand new game. And trust me they cut a huge amount of content from that game.

I know and I can't wait to play as him! I mean will he automatically be part of the bandicoot family in the next mainstream Crash game or will they retcon a new origin story for him? I don't know why I'm expecting much from crash in regards to story but hopefully I'm wrong. For Crunch, just keep his story similar to WOC with no Mr T personality and give him a gaming purpose.
Well technically Crunch was utilized quite well in Wrath of Cortex. Yes the game is bland as off-brand cereal but the way Crunch was introduced into the world of Crash was pretty decent. So I'm sure it won't be too hard to re-introduce him. Nina I'm a little more concerned about. I want her to be in but I'm not sure how they could bring her in to where it feels natural.
I totally agree, just do it the way it was done in WOC with maybe a few twists? (Love WOC even tho its the most average of the series). I'm more concerned with what happens with him after as he didn't have much going for him after WOC. Nina should be saved for the following game but maybe in the possible upcoming game, Cortex could mention/reference her as set up. Anything possible =)
@@ronangallagher7297 Yeah I think that was the most unfortunate thing about Crunch. That he really fell by the wayside after WOC. I mean he was okay in Nitro Kart as far as him interacting with Crash & Coco but you could tell they didn't know what to do with him.
And yeah the issue with Nina and Cortex is that in the Naughty Dog era games, they didn't have an evil academy in mind. The way it was framed was that Cortex and N-Brio were just two run of the mill evil scientists through their core and not because they went to some evil school. So Nina's existence kinda clashes with old school Crash if you know what I mean?
If she's just a non-plot driven racer, I'll be fine with that haha.
I never noticed that about the academy of evil, (favorite Twin level). The Crash series was always larger-than-life but it also felt rooted in reality too. We slowly lost that post Naughty dog, with for instance, random animal characters with human qualitys in Crash mind over mutants and Tag team racing that didn't have a reason to exist, unlike naughty dog era.
As for Nina, I think she should be a misguided person trying to live up to her farther figure (Cortex) like she was in Crash of the titans but she could be an adult and have an already established evil reputation, basically make her character fit in with the naughty dog era. I'm not that big a fan of her but she could really have a big impact on Cortex and make him as a character, more intriguing. She and Crunch should be non-plot racers for continuity reasons and just act as fan service haha
As for Crunch, he should be trying to figure out if he can be a good guy, despite being made for evil. Thats a story arc that can last for more then one game.

end of naughty dog with crash warped and CTR, post naughty dog with crash bash and nitro kart (a personal favorite) and the start of the radical Era with tag team racing.
I'm currently digging the next sane Era rn but do hope they do make some new things after nitro fueled.
funny thing about you mentioning about crash of the titans costume being in nitro fueled because from the livestream that happened, they did have tiny's general outfit from Crash of the Titans. While not my favorite incarnation of Tiny I really respect that costume is in the game and one I'll be using when I play as him

I missed my opportunity to play twinsanity and it's so upsetting, crash of the titans was absolutely amazing however
I honestly like all era's equally, I do feel like the radical era gets a bit too much hate just cause the game play was different though. I honestly loved the radical era, it was something pretty refreshing for the franchise at the time since it was kind of stuck in limbo for doing the same thing as the naughty dog era constantly, with the only real exception being twinsanity.
Kinda wanna play as cortex like in twinsanity but for a new game
I always wanted a spin off of a Bowser or Dr Eggman game, but they never became things, which always sucked (I guess Minions quest from the M&L remakes are Bowser spin offs, but I’m not counting them). A Cortex spin off would be amazing, too. I guess you would like, do something with mutants and robots?

@@TS-yz3ud Just because I didn't say that the Post Naughty Dog era was my favorite era doesn't mean I didn't like that era. One of my childhood games was Crash Nitro Kart and I wanted to get Twinsanity like crazy as a kid but never had the chance to.
Future Tense gives me a little faith in the future of Crash. It tells me that they can create interesting, fun and challenging levels. What matters though is if they do or not

All Eras are arguably good but no one can agree that all are good
We have an idea of how well vicarious will do with a new game. Just look at the Future Tense DLC for Crash Warped. It is N. Sanely difficult, but it is an amazing platformer level. I can't beat the level for the life of me, but I can't beat Crash 1 or 2 in N. Sane trilogy either. If VV release a new game with the originality and difficulty of the Future Tense level, then it could be a fantastic addition to the franchise and would be great financially. If VV keep up their great remakes, but have a collection of new games, then we might just have our best Crash era yet.

Honestly the radical games could never be my favorites, but that doesn't stop them from being some damn good games. I still ended up liking most of them.

All 3 franchises had many sequels and sometimes sold well regardless of new ideas and experimenting with gameplay so it makes sense.
Twinsanity is glitchy and buggy but i really love it!

They had to much planned for it, but they didn't have enough time, so they rushed and that led to a lot of cut content and many bugs.
Crash never had a bad game.. Unlike Spyro, Enter the dragonfly was just awful.

Here’s my ranking of the eras:
1: N Sane: The games are lovingly remade with a multitude of improvements and an actually promising future. Naughty Dog was done with Crash after CTR, but we know Crash is now definitely going to continue after this latest remake.
2: Naughty Dog: The start of the franchise. Only under N Sane due to Naughty Dog leaving the franchise in uncertain waters and of course these games not having the improvements gained by the remakes.
3: Post-Naughty Dog: A mixed bag to be sure, but still felt like Crash. We had some great games like Nitro Kart and the GBA ones, some mixed bags like Wrath of Cortex and Twinsanity, and some stinkers like Boom Bang. But the franchise was still pretty strong and introduced Crunch who is actually a favorite of mine.
4: Radical: I don’t dislike this era because it “ruined my childhood” or something. I just didn’t feel it was for me. I don’t like beat-em-up games, and I wasn’t a fan of the childish humor. I roll my eyes at toilet humor and Tag Team Racing literally let you make burp and fart sounds on the loading screens.
I was born in ‘99 when CTR was released but my first Crash game was Wrath of Cortex, so I grew up during the Post-Naughty Dog era, that’s the era I’ll always remember of Crash but the Naughty Dog games are better
You did a fantastic job with giving each major era the respect they deserve and while I don't agree with every single point, I still enjoyed this video. I think all the Crash games are great games.

For me, it would be
1. N Sanity era (literally the naughty dog era but modern)
2. naughty dog
3. Post era (the only games worth mentioning are Twinissnity kind of and the GBA Crash Games except the Spyro crossover thing I forgot the name of)
4. Radical era. (The first mutant game is pretty good, despite the terrible redesigns, but the second mutant game is terrible lmao. I didn’t even bother with the handhelds)
The best era is CLEARLY the Boom Bang era. Prove me wrong.

Very good video. Most accurate of the thoughts the Crash eras. So far, I'll put on Radical era in the 2nd best of my list. They did so much to keep the series alive despite their flaws that alienated fans. It can't help that mostly RUclipsrs are actually manipulating to ruin the game's reputation by filling the fans' mind with lies, rather than being constructive their opinions. They really want Titans/MoM so badly out of the picture. It's truly selfish what's happening in the fandom.

I think it's too early to judge N.sane era , it has only one released game with the second going to be released in two weeks , we are not 100% sure if its quality until we experienced by ourselves , and both of those games are remakes from ND era . We should wait and see the original games of this era .
My biggest concern now is the N.sane era could turn into nostalgia era , which is remake after remake .

and maybe the Post-Naughty Dog Era with Crash Twinsanity. even with the Development issues, bosses, story and music.
I love all the eras but I have not played crash bash.
Only worth playing the story if you're playing co-op with a friend.

I always played twinsanity and crash titans game and team racing. These are my favorite. Crash games
Lola Mind Over Mutant was a trainwreck of a game.
I like all the games but if I had to choose, my rankings would be:
1) N.Sane era
2)post ND era
3)Radical era
4) naughty dog era
Twinsanity just wasn’t treated correctly it’s my favorite from the franchise and wish it would get a remaster. The bugs and the little amount of people who bought it didn’t let it thrive as it should’ve.
Naughty Dog Era: I like it in general. If I were to put it on a best to worst, I would say it would go like this: Crash Team Racing, Crash Warped, Crash 2 and Crash 1.
Post Naughty Dog Era: Mainly Crash Nitro Kart & Crash Twinsanity are my favorites of that era.
Radical Era: It's weird, I love Crash of the Titans, I find Crash Tag Team Racing average but still fun. Mind Over Mutant for some reason, I couldn't get into it.
N Sane Era: Loved the Trilogy and I like what they're doing with Crash Nitro Fueled so far, but yeah I'm alittle worried what will happen once they make their own Crash game. The level they made for Crash 3 keeps me hopeful though.
I really hope twinsanity gets a remake. With all the cut content that the original developers wanted to add (if they’re nice enough to give them those rights) which in turn will give Vicarious Visions the freedom to create that 2nd dimension with the cut contents base line. That game, to me, would’ve been the best post Naughty dog game if it had more time to develop/marketing.
Also, Vicarious Visions made GBA versions of Crash called The Huge Adventure (or XS) and N. Tranced.
I don't know. THE PS1 ERA?
I thought it was clear that the ND Era was the best one. Crash has had bright spots after that, but on average, post ND games have been inconsistent in quality
@Quarter 55 I agree. The ND games were still miles better than the Post-ND games but they (the post ND games) were still fairly enjoyable in their own rights. But yeah after Twinsanity came the dark ages for Crash until we got the N.Sane Trilogy.
