Jurassic Park: Rampage Edition is a 1994 side-scrolling video game developed by BlueSky Software and published by Sega for the Sega Genesis. It is the sequel to Sega's previous Jurassic Park video game, based on the film of the same name and also released for the Genesis. Jurassic Park: Rampage Edition is a revamped version of its predecessor, featuring similar gameplay with several changes, and a new story that continues from where the previous game ended.
Plot
After the events of Jurassic Park, Dr. Alan Grant escapes Isla Nublar on a helicopter. While the Costa Rican Army is blowing up parts of the island to destroy the park's dinosaurs, Grant spots a helicopter of armed InGen field agents arriving on the island. Fearing that the agents have plans to collect any remaining dinosaur eggs and DNA samples for a new dinosaur park, Grant attempts to contact the Costa Rican Army. Grant's helicopter crashes on the island after the pilot attempts to stop him. Grant survives the crash and must find a way to stop InGen.
Gameplay is very similar to Sega's earlier Jurassic Park video game for the Sega Genesis. Like its predecessor, Rampage Edition is an action game with a platform setup that allows the player to choose between Dr. Grant or the Raptor. As Dr. Grant, the player starts out with a dart gun that has infinite ammo. A wide selection of weapons is available for the player to obtain throughout the game, including an assault rifle, shotgun, flame-thrower, grenades, rocket launcher, and shock rifle. As Dr. Grant, the player travels through the island while fighting InGen agents and dinosaurs until Grant can escape by boat.
As the Raptor, the player can win battles with physical attacks such as biting and whipping opponents with the Raptor's tail. A bonus for the Raptor is to collect enough Lysine crates, which allows the player to go into "Raptor Rage" mode where the screen turns red and the player becomes invincible for a limited amount of time. As the Raptor, the player can play all the same levels as Dr. Grant. The goal of the Raptor is to escape the island on a departing cargo boat to find a safe place to nest its eggs.
Candy bars and med kits are collected throughout the game to replenish the player's health, while eggs, embryo containers and DNA samples are collected throughout the game for points. Instead of the linear gameplay of the previous game, Rampage Edition allows players to choose from three levels to complete before they are allowed to proceed to the final levels in order to win the game. Unlike its predecessor, Rampage Edition features a faster pace, and allows Grant to perform additional actions such as riding dinosaurs and using zip-lines. Grant and the raptor are also able to kill their enemies, unlike the previous game. Rampage Edition also features larger levels, and more weapons for Grant to use.
Jurassic Park: Rampage Edition is a revamped version of Sega's previous Jurassic Park video game for the Sega Genesis, but was developed with a slightly different game engine. Sega chose to create the game after the financial success of the Jurassic Park film and its merchandise. A rafting level and an aviary were both based on scenes that were featured in Michael Crichton's 1990 novel Jurassic Park, on which the film is based; neither scene was included in the film adaptation.

my favorite part of Jurassic Park was when Alan Grant took on all those mercs with his firearm skills
And the Mercs worked together with the dinosaurs and grant still won
You mean all those Raptors bro
@@CJHElectro lmao
I believe that was in the special edition director's cut
I think thats park personnel
Grant is such a John Wick in this game, I mean it's literally raining explosives in some parts of the game and he's all like it's all fun and games until everything overdoses on tranquilizers
Oh yes. The "kill everything on sight" edition.
Always loved how less dark and grim looking this game was compared to the original one, almost more colorful even, *but how it's so unapolagetically more violent and brutal that it almost makes it scarier.*
The waterfalls on 35:24 ...Just WOW. Pretty good graphics.
Got this game for a Christmas present. I feel old. Guessing you all feel the same
Indeed.
Badass Christmas present though honestly
👍🏻
The ancient ruins on Isla Nublar must be the most random thing ever.
That's universal going "wouldn't it be cool if we put some ruins type level on this game cause indiana Jones is super popular?"
I think its taken from the novel,in the novel it was stated there used to be native tribe on isla nublar but ingen cleared them out when they moved in on the island.
Trespasser inserted them in too, though on Isla Sorna.
Central American ruins were just... a thing in 90s games. The peak of this was probably the N64 Turok games
That one telltale Jurassic park game mentioned this. One of the female characters mentioned how her tribe was removed from the island
I can just imagine Sam Neil going "Yee-haw!"
I've been reliving my childhood looking up old Nintendo and Sega games recently. This is absolutely fantastic! I remember coming home from school opening up some Dunkaroos and Capri Sun... who's with me!
Yep, sit down on the bean bag and pop in this game …especially Saturday mornings
We're slowly getting to this in the jurassic world franchise. Grant is back and the humans are getting more and more militarized, using dinosaurs as weapons. The next jurassic park will be modeled around this game as Dr. Grant goes full John Wick killing all the humans and dinosaurs in his path.
Ahh, the high stakes and incredibly dangerous world of paleontology. Good thing for Dr. Grant that Hammond spared no expense here.
Man I used to love this game 😂
Me too.
What the electric gun can do: disintegrate human flesh
What it can't do: destroy a half-eaten candy bar
Lol atound 16:07? That part just came up as I was reading this comment, I swear, how eerie!
@@billblaski9523 Lol yep, that's an indestructible candy bar all right!
Jesus, this was my childhood in the 90s, I was 7-9, thanks for uploading this video dude, so cool. Lots of nostalgia.
Alan Grant is the Doom Slayer in Jurassic park universe games, kills soldiers, dinosaurs, helicopters.
When that damn chopper pops up on Savanna... Good lord the soundtrack change
Wow! I remembered that my brothers used to play this game when we were kids! So many memories! :)
Same! I sucked!
Nintendo didn't have the blast processing for this
Loved this game, and Sega’s original Jurassic Park game. Spent countless hours playing both.
That menu music is just nostalgia in audio form
That time Dr. Grant just decided he had had enough of this BS and opened up a 55gal drum of Whoop-Ass on everything living in Jurassic Park, while shouting, "Yee-haw!"
Dude the opening music of this still rules
I like how the ending is an omage to the River raft scene in the Novel
26:21 now I can understand why all the dinosaurs are extinct...damn grant
29:31
Grant kills his favorite dinosaur.
Alan Grant : dinosaur killer
This even looks a,amazing to me, it must’ve been incredible when it first came out.
Thanks for this nostalgic game. 😅😊
недавно вспомнил как в детстве в эту игру с батей рубились... прям ностальгия)
First video game I ever owned
Alan Grant is the most powerful character in the Jurassic Park Multiverse.
Looking at these amazing games from even before my time (my first videos games were psx) this just shows that it’s not “nostalgia” talking. They actually really were great.
I love this crazy, cool game.
This game was cool, it improved a lot on technical matters of the first one, better animations, runs smoothly, better physics, but the first one was much darker and atmospheric; your weapons were mainly tranquilizers, you at most stunned a raptor for like 5 secs, no infinite bullets gun.... I feel the first has a better feeling, but this is, besides being basically an action game (which explains the "rampage edition), is a SLIGHTLY better game.
Oh, and I feel the first one had better OSTs, but this has some bangers too, like the boat one.
Awesome game!
The savanna has the best parallax scrolling of the entire 16bit generation imo. Awesome game
In what bizarro world of Jurassic Park did Grant have this type of military weaponry
Damn those are some mad skills at the last boss - for some reason it was the hardest shit for me to beat (D-pad is hard), and not to mention that T-Rex was scary af and him biting your ass in half is a VERY brutal animation for a kid 😭
The sprites used in this game looks different that those previous used in the first Genesis Jurassic Park game. Each one of the characters has that black outline stroke. I never knew why.
It looks a faster game than previous one too.
Yeah those digitized sprites slowed everything down
The person or people that made this game they must have never watched Jurassic Park...grant was all about PRESERVING dinosaurs NOT DESTROYING THEM
How is this music so epic 36:35
Congratulations u won!

8:48 YEEEHAAA😂😂😂
I got my Sega Genesis in 1989 and became a diehard Sega fan for life. I got the original Jurassic Park game for the Genesis when it released as I loved the film. It wasn't bad but after that I really lost interest in it. I never really played this game before and man am I sorry I didn't. What the Hell happened to Dr. Grant?! The guy is pissed off and murdering everything in sight. This is nuts.. it's murder o'clock and Grant is completely out of *ucks to give.
Grant: "I spent my life studying dead dinosaurs and that's just what I'm going to do. I'm coming for you Hammond."
So when you say Full Longplay, what you mean is: with few exceptions, Dr. Grant leaves no survivors.
Yeap))
All Grant needed to do in the original jurassic park was to pull out his infinite ammo tranquilizer gun and he could have ended the movie a lot sooner.
18:29 a Sirene que está tocando porque o Navio está Afundando.
Ash Ketchum Pikachu Misty Togepi and Brock from Pokemon will Join the Adventure in Jurassic Park Rampage Edition
26:36 when the fuck did Grant ever say that ever...YEEHAW
ingat banget adegan naik kapal
This definitely had a much better final boss fight, even if it had nothing to do with the movie.
Rampage Edition is what the 4th Jurassic Park movie should have been. Dr. Grant (maybe even Ellie and Malcolm joining him) killing InGen mercs to prevent dinosaurs from leaving the island, because he knows how bad the San Diego incident was. It would take place on Isla Nublar again, and it would end with him confronting Dodgson. Maybe have the T-Rex eating Dodgson in the climax. Maximum run time of 90 minutes.
But no. We got the garbage, overly long Jurassic World trilogy instead.
True! It would be awesome
I really gave them a chance. Saw them all on the big screen, as I saw the first three on the big screen. Enjoyed I guess the first one. Tolerated the second. Actively disliked the final one. What an abomination. I can tell the people in it and who made it genuinely tried, but it just.. My God.
LOL
Tan malo fue el final xd
The intro for this game is a bit unsettling, it reminds me that of lumpy touch
I've recently begun playing this game on an online emulator. In the aviary, there's one Raptor (shown at about 1:40) that does not attack as long as you stay below the platform it's on, no matter how close you get. That's about as far as I got in that stage because I wanted to avoid killing the Raptors in this game. Heck, when I play any *Jurassic Park* game, I do my best to avoid killing the Raptors unless I absolutely have to...and even then, I don't like killing them.
As an #ObsessedRaptorFanatic, I have a good reason for not wanting to kill the Raptors. I don't have any trouble with killing any of the other dinosaurs in this and other games...only the Raptors. And, I do all I can to kill off any mercenaries who attack me with their various weapons. It's in self-defense.
This not only applies to the aviary in this game, but it also applies to all stages that I've been able to play in this game and in other *Jurassic Park* games.
Just don’t catch the characters bland genericitis
@@powerstones7722 Genericitis?
8:47❤
that flooding ship music and atmosphere is damn spooky
I want a candy bar.
Dr Grant riding a dinosaur while shouting "Yee-haw!!!" and mowing down dinos and Jurassic Park employees with an assault rifle is my favorite scene missing from the movies. Shame on Speilberg. Shame on him indeed.
