Director of "Interactivo de Cuba"
Roberto Carcassés was born in Havana on May 19, 1972. He began playing at the age of 11, and then graduated in percussion and piano from the National School of Art of Cuba in 1991.
He has collaborated, recorded and shared stage with personalities from all corners of the world. He has made music for several films and documentaries and has received several awards, including the National Order of Culture of Cuba.
His music is not framed, it is open to all sounds and that versatility and free spirit led him to create bands like "Columna B" (with Descemer Bueno, Yosvany Terry and Dafnis Prieto); "Estado de animo" (with Descemer Bueno, Ruy Lopez-Nussa and Elmer Ferrer); and later, "Interactivo de Cuba", a collaborative space with musicians from all different rhythms and trends that more solidly addressed his ability to expand within music.
"Interactivo de Cuba" is characterized by fluid line-up changes, Roberto invites and directs and the musicians come and go, bringing their musical universe, adding the mix of jazz, soul rap, funk, Afro-Cuban beats, timba, tango, guaguancó, bolero, changüí, rumba and a little bit of everything.
