Solar powered, all electric commerical boat that is US Coast Guard approved? It is now a reality on the Hudson River in Kingston, NY. So cool! Before we bought our 1989 34’ Marine Trader, Elliot did extensive research on electric boats for the loop. He also found this same boat! So great to see more solar powered boats 👌🏼

Very interesting. It looks like the Solar Sal people are scoping out getting into the cruiser market, they have a 38' and a 45' (in prototype stage apparently) on their website. Personally, I'd be inclined to go with a hybrid like the Greenline 40 or 45. With a little planning, you can do most of the days cruising on battery, yet still have the diesel if you need to hurry for some reason.

@@ohbuoy4570 Born and raised here, and except for 20 years (Navy) I've lived here all my life. A couple of the big yacht makers are going with hybrids, although I _think_ Sunreef has a fully renewable (solar+wind generators) for their Eco sailing cats.
