Simon, greetings from Russia. I'm one of your many students. You are my first and main teacher in pottery. Thank you for your generosity and openness, for the experience and knowledge that you give to students. I am glad that you have recovered and are working again. I hope to meet you in the future and greet you with a handshake.
Hey my friend, I thought you had to be under the wether. Only because I have watched you for a long time and your almost never gone off line for this amount of time. Glad your better Simon. eddie.
I simply adore your tutorials... Your humming... Your water splashes... Your ideas.. Your darling little egg cups... Your potter's wheel.. Your expertise.. And your generosity.. Thank you Simon❤️
@purple rane yep! That's exactly what I mean ... Simon Leach is a generous teacher ... On all levels ...his creations ...egg cups ...vases... bowls... potter's wheel design.. decorating techniques... kiln designs and alterations... firing schedules... etc... all so generous
@@liliannapaxton We speak different languages, but the words you said about Simon sound in my heart without translation. Simon opened to me an amazing, incredible and beautiful world of ceramics.
Question for you SImon: when you throw a pot with a new design / concept (new paddle texture in this case) how many pots will you make of its kind? One? Ten? 50? I'm curious to know how large your 'first generation' of a new design typically is. Thanks for the video.
Hi Seth..that would depend how much I like the design. I will answer and say 10 and then see where that leads me, maybe some modification to the design, it’s a form that is changing in its early stages.
@@sleachpots I think so Simon. I have Covid now and in bed watching all your lovely videos and worrying about the last 100 pieces of an 800 piece order, so hoping doesn't take so long to recover.

Going to zoom again this winter… Lidded jars are my battle cry, well fitted lids chiefly … hahaha, you asked!😂 so with all that said… I keep practicing 😉
Hi again from Japan, Simon. Good to see you healthy once again. The salad bowl idea is similar to the 'suribachi' we have here, although the entire inside is scored... usually for grinding things like seeds (sesame), and combining it with miso, etc.
So many great ideas packed in this one video! I LOVE the salad dressing bowl - you can probably zest a lemon or lime in there for dressing as well. Can't wait to try that one!
I'm so glad you are back on your healing wheel ! I think it has healing powers and get distressed if I can't have a throw every few days :) Stay well x
Gerard if I own a rifle ( for my personal use, target or hunting ) is that a crime ? …you make it sound as such ? Not a pottery related question ! My life, my rules ..sorry !
It’s called COVID, I am beyond disappointed that you won’t admit that and I will be smashing any pottery I have purchased and I have unsubscribed. I know you didn’t believe in all this I just hope you didn’t get someone else sick
I haven't been able to get this out of my head. The Egg Cups are sensational and the bowl. Thank you 😊
Missed you! Glad you're feeling better!
my nana used to make me soft boiled eggs
Ooo I used to make little vinaigrette garlic grater bowls like that years ago! Sold like hot cakes :)
Yes I imagine they would sell well :)

Glad to hear you are feeling better! Just wanted to tell you that ammo clip - plastic paddle was positively inspired! Well done, as always! TY
Thanks Diane, yes I liked it I think, might play around with the pattern.

I was wondering what tool you used to make the texture in the garlic grinder?
Thank you!❤️
It’s a wooden comb, slightly rounded
