Hi again from Japan, Simon. Good to see you healthy once again. The salad bowl idea is similar to the 'suribachi' we have here, although the entire inside is scored... usually for grinding things like seeds (sesame), and combining it with miso, etc.
Simon, greetings from Russia. I'm one of your many students. You are my first and main teacher in pottery. Thank you for your generosity and openness, for the experience and knowledge that you give to students. I am glad that you have recovered and are working again. I hope to meet you in the future and greet you with a handshake.
So nice to see you’re well again. Love the ideas for home made texture. The bottle cap spinner is great, I’m going to try making one! Cheers from Maryland in the United States!
So many great ideas packed in this one video! I LOVE the salad dressing bowl - you can probably zest a lemon or lime in there for dressing as well. Can't wait to try that one!
Wow! Glad you’re back on the HealingWheel (: CHEERS to 100% WELL! Cool ideas… per usual…thank you! Oh yes, received the box (: thanks again! PS! In 2018 started out hand building… Enamored with the ancient pots… you know how RUclips😳is, one thing leads to another 🤷🏼♀️I stumbled on Simon… Had never thrown on a wheel, had no intentions…. After watching, i gotta try this… ha! Never would have had the success that I have now if it wasn’t for Simon … Was it video or book?… both … PLUS! November 2019 , flew out for a workshop which was a game changer… There are things you can’t get from videos… it’s those little things… A friend gave me the book… Last winter had zoom clay … couldn’t get the height… Kept burning through the bottom trying to pull up the walls… no longer a stumbling block! Going to zoom again this winter… Lidded jars are my battle cry, well fitted lids chiefly … hahaha, you asked!😂 so with all that said… I keep practicing 😉
I'm so glad you are back on your healing wheel ! I think it has healing powers and get distressed if I can't have a throw every few days :) Stay well x
Hey my friend, I thought you had to be under the wether. Only because I have watched you for a long time and your almost never gone off line for this amount of time. Glad your better Simon. eddie.
Question for you SImon: when you throw a pot with a new design / concept (new paddle texture in this case) how many pots will you make of its kind? One? Ten? 50? I'm curious to know how large your 'first generation' of a new design typically is. Thanks for the video.
Hi Seth..that would depend how much I like the design. I will answer and say 10 and then see where that leads me, maybe some modification to the design, it’s a form that is changing in its early stages.
Gerard if I own a rifle ( for my personal use, target or hunting ) is that a crime ? …you make it sound as such ? Not a pottery related question ! My life, my rules ..sorry !
