@@TheTapeLibrary I haven't watched the video yet, but YES I believe my grandfather died a day before my brother was born,my mom was in hospital for 2 weeks already and he was born on October 11, my grandfather died on the 10.
(I am 12 years older then him).
My brother says stuff that he couldn't possibly know, eg he mentions a car that my grandparents had when they were young a white Toyota (there are not pictures of the car), he talks about the ultramar war like he was there, talks about Angola like he had been there.
Also things my brother says reminds of the way my grandfather used to speak, and the way he looks at me when I say something "crazy" exactly the same.
I am my brother favourite person, I was my grandfathers also. (But this could be a coincidence)
My grandmother used to look after 2 young children for a neighbour, when the girls come see my grandmother he calls them nene and toto (which were the names my grandparents use to dearly call them) I wasn't even alive yet how can he know? My grandmother calls them by their names, I never heard my grandmother call them that.
My brother once mentioned a gate that used to be on the left side when I was like maybe 8 he was not even born yet, there aren't pictures of the gate, how does he know that the gate use to be on left side and not on the right like his now? This are just a few things that make believe I am sure I am forgetting quite a bit and important stuff!
This scared me and my grandmother for years, we are pretty sure my grandfather reincarnated in my brother.
      Sorry for long comment.

Fast forward to high school and we're watching Gladiator in class. During the arena scene, I kept having this feeling like 'danger danger.'
When I was about 18, I had an unusually vivid dream about being killed in the colosseum. It was like a bunch of flash bulbs went off and all the memories I forgot about came back. I did some research and found that what I tried to interpret as a maze was the space that's now on the ground floor of the arena. It used to be underneath another floor and they'd use a system of levers and pulleys to open trap doors in it.

The photo of the twins that gets misattributed as the Pollocks actually isn't just "a random photo": it's the work of Diane Arbus. She specifically did a lot of portraits of really unusual and uncanny subjects, and made several photos of various sets of twins and triplets. Her famous photo of the Wade twins - the one you showed - was the inspiration for the twins in The Shining. I really recommend looking up her work!

Well, in my opinion, it's kind of obvious that the twins, born after the previous twins passed away, would have similarities to them. Like the fact that Jennifer would hold her pen in her fist, like Jacqueline had done and Jillian walked the same way Johanna had, etc. I mean they were born from the same father and mother as the previous twins had. That's genetics. There might be other less explainable things, but I think the physical similarities might have been caused by genetics. By the way, I love your channel and your voice. It's so soothing and perfect for telling mysterious stories.

    • @TheTapeLibrary

What an interesting story! I’m Indian, and in our culture, reincarnation and karma are deeply rooted beliefs. I’ve heard stories about kids who seem to remember pieces of a past life but forget as they grow older and get more caught up in their present. One belief we have is that children who pass away young are more likely to reincarnate into the same family because of unfulfilled desires or strong attachments. My grandmother used to tell me about my cousin who, when she was just 3 years old, would describe her ‘real’ house in detail-a traditional South Indian ‘tharavadu’ house she had no way of knowing about. Whenever they would go on roadtrips, she would ask her mother to drop her off at her 'real' house! Eventually, she grew out of it, but it’s still something we talk about because it’s so fascinating. With the Pollock twins, I feel like there’s probably some truth to their story, but it does seem like John might have started adding to it for attention and shock value.

    - If no tragedy had taken place, the elder sisters had died instantly, and they only went to heaven to be reincarnated, why would the girls supposedly be so terrified of cars? It would be but a blip in their lives, right?
    - Mary and Susan, not at all unusual names for dolls or girls in that time and place.
    - Children borne of the same parents and raised in the same family will not surprisingly bear similarities in behavior and genetics.
    - So they didn’t point to the school, actually.
    - Kids asking to go to a playground to swing, also not weird. Doesn’t mean they knew there was a specific one nearby. Kids just assume what they want is available.
    - They can claim they never talked about any of it in front of the girls, but there’s no way to prove ANY of it.
Very, very thin evidence. Being in the same generation of a family makes such coincidences even higher probability.

Family secrets… truth is we will never really know which scenario is fact. Whether Mr. Pollack truly believed his newborn twins were really his deceased twins reincarnated is apparent. Whether they actually were or if he was just seeking to be a “important man” as you mentioned is where we’ll never really know. Could Mr. Pollack been a loving caring man and also do what he was accused of? Absolutely you see it all the time in society.

Such an interesting story. I'm a bit conflicted on this one. I believe in things like premonitions and spirits (having experienced both), but am always a bit skeptical on stories of reincarnation. That being said, my younger brother was born in September of 2002, and when he was younger, he insisted that he died on 9/11. This was long before he knew anything about the attacks as it wasn't something we discussed with him at that age. He doesn't remember it anymore and it's so eerie for me looking back on it...

Started this last night in bed but as usual i fell sound asleep not long after. Your narration is so relaxing. I listened again this morning on my way to work. I think i do believe in past lives on some level, there are so many stories from all over the world that fascinate me. I always remember one about a young boy in india that was convinced he was someone else, they found the family and the husband had been shot in the head the day the boy was born and he had a birthmark exactly where the bullet had hit the man. So so strange. Love stories like this. X

I read about a boy in Scotland who claimed to remember a past life, even talking about an airfield that used to exist, long torn down or abandoned-- interesting bit is that after the age of 6 or so, he completely forgot all of it and denied the memories. There were a lot .ore details, and i can't recall where i heard it. Interesting parallèles to this story...

This was a truly fascinating story. I especially like this type of video, where it's a strange, mysterious and almost surreal account but isn't overtly supernatural or absurd. I love the ones where so much of the accounts are grounded in reality and only small parts may be something else. Keep up the great work. Your channel is like the most consistently high quality channel I'm subscribed to - every single video is excellent.

    • @NikkiC777
      @NikkiC777 21 день назад

Oh lol, I had thought that black and white photo was the twins from that movie
'the shining'. There is a definite resemblance. I wonder if the movie's producers or director saw that picture, and based the ghost twins, in the movie, off that photo? Maybe they took inspiration from it.
Edit: I just googled it and the director, Stanley Kubrick actually was inspired by that photo, and based the appearance of the twins in his movie off of that photo. There is an article about it.

I would imagine there was some resentment in the family if the father paid attention to the girls and ignored the rest of the kids. And then didn’t mourn their mother and got remarried right away after having affairs over the years. Also sounds a bit narcissistic? Thinking he’s so intellectual. To me, he sounds like a difficult personality who forced the others to go along with his beliefs. Whether the girls were reincarnated, I can’t say for sure, but it’s impossible to know that no one in that family - and extended family - ever said anything about the ones who died. That’s what I stick on. They could’ve heard stuff about their sisters. You only have the fathers word that they weren’t told anything. I guess I’m a skeptic!

There's a notable name in spiritual circles named Matias de Stefano and he talks about memories he has from past lives. Now the pinch of salt (or probably a massive heap) you want to take with his stories is that he experiences a lot of these past memories doing ayahuasca, but doing that is considered among the kind of woo woo spiritual people to be a meaningful experience in and of itself. The guy also does podcasts with people so one of these days you might get a chance to interview him and that would be a fun conversation for sure.
Anyway, thanks for another interesting episode!
