So here is everything I have eaten today … I am really enjoying my food this week.
For the chat topic today I thought I would have a talk about people getting fake glp1’s. I saw a woman in This Morning talking about ending up in A&E after taking a very dodgy ‘ozempic’ jab.

This made me wonder how many people actually even know where they should be getting it from. This is so worrying to me that this is even happening.

The injectables already have such a bed rep (for no good reason really) and with people trying to make easy $ by diluting/forging and scamming altogether - it's a catastrophe 😭 That's why I love your channel, it's like the North Star of responsible (and fun) GLP1 representation.

It's awful isn't it ! I saw on Facebook earlier today a beauty salon promoting a new delivery of Ozempic and people were going wild placing orders to go collect it ! From a beauty salon !! Its crazy x
It’s absolute madness. I’ve started reporting these fb pages if I see them. It’s completely illegal. I just don’t understand why anyone would buy god knows what and inject themselves with it. So worrying xxx

The scam stories are absolutely shocking. I've use Lloyds online pharmacy and its all very strict. Not only do you have to photograph yourself on the scales, you also need to photograph yourself with your driving license to prove your identity. You have to give all your health conditions and meds etc before your online doctor agrees to the prescription. I checked the NICE guidance myself before deciding to try it and it was recommended for someone of my BMI and with my medical history. I think my GP would even have wished to prescribe it for me but there are no specialist services in my area so I've gone ahead myself. When I've done six months I'm going to go to the GP if it's helped me (which it certainly has these first three months) and see if there is any movement on getting it more easily prescribed on the NHS in my area. I'll keep paying for it as long as I can. Even if you could get an NHS script that you pay NHS rate for the medicine that would be brilliant but I can't see that happening. Maybe government's new emphasis on primary care and preventative health services will change that over the next year or two.
Hi hunny … yes I had to send photos, ID, medical history etc etc too which I felt reassured by if anything.
I think it will be quite a while until the NHS funds it due to the cost - even though it would save so much in the long term. Once it can be made generically it will be more widely available I’m sure. Good luck with your GP xxx

I m so glad that you covered the risks of getting dodgy medication from unlicensed sources, I think that GP practices should be more involved. My GP was contacted by my medication provider after I went through a fairly stringent (my opinion) process to purchase the drugs from a licensed source. I have a letter logged on my nhs medical record that I have been prescribed this but nothing else. I have had a blood test recently specifically to review my cholesterol levels and I asked for a blood glucose test, the blood glucose has dropped significantly and I m no longer on the cusp of being pre diabetic which I believe is due to mounjaro. This is fantastic. My cholesterol has lowered but that is due statins. I will have a full blood annual review in December and now that I have access to my full medical records through the NHS app I will try and compare to last years results. (The doctor will do the normal review to see if there is anything urgent that needs to be addressed).
The GLP medications have a lot of much potential to address so many conditions, there are many adverse affects that obesity has on our bodies and mental health. I am lucky that I am in a position to invest in mounjaro, I would have liked my GP or someone at the practice to have authorised me buying it.

That’s great news about your blood results. I had mine done earlier in the week and they were never bad before but my cholesterol is so much better. I’ve never needed meds or anything but I can’t believe the improvement.
Med express required photo id from me too which I found reassuring. All my letters from med express are in my gp notes and on my nhs app which is fab.
The huge improvements to health will become more and more evident. I’m sure eventually the nhs will invest more in glp1’s but I suspect that won’t be until they can be made generically and the cost reduces. I think I read that’s about 6 or 7 years away still.

Loved the singing ❤ I got mine from the online pharmacy. I know it looks cheaper, people from other countries selling the meds on WhatsApp, honestly its not worth it, esp if it's an emergency and life threatening. I know the desperation to lose weight ive been there before, when I was preg at my heaviest 105kg. Small changes, food swaps, and light exercise like walking to start off would be a start and it helped me get to 77.8 when i started the meds. In the past when I wanted to lose weight ive done fasting, diets. As a diabetic and eligible for this, GP didn't prescribe due to shortage etc so I purchased my own for my health.

It’s so scary that people buy goodness knows what from these awful scammers. I know the prices seems expensive here in the uk but compared to other countries it is still a good price for private prescriptions. I am happy to invest in my own health after years of struggling with perimenopause weight gain.
Good luck hun. So sorry your gp did not prescribe. There is only an nhs shortage because they do. It buy enough stock.

Ah it should settle. I remember having several days on the trot where I felt I literally couldn’t eat because I felt stuffed even though I’d not eaten. Try and eat even if you don’t feel like it. I found protein shakes quite handy in the early days because at least I could get a couple of hundred calories in and some protein.

I watched the This Morning clip you attached and felt very sorry for the lady who had such an awful experience. Such a shame that it's now put her off of ever taking GLP-1, even if she obtains it via her GP. And the charlatan who sold it to her is still operating via social media!😳
I took my first increased dose of 5mg on Tuesday. Had my first side effect so far on Mounjaro this morning, I.e a bout of diarrhoea. Feeling ok now but wondered if anything I ate started it off. I had a portion of triple cooked chips last night. Carefully weighed them out calorie wise (trying to use up things from the freezer), but they are extra fatty. Could this have set me off or is it my body adapting to the new dose?🤷♀
Hi lovely … so sorry I’m so late in replying. How are you now on your 5mg? I do suspect your rather delicious chips were indeed the culprit for your unfortunate side effects. Hopefully everything hasc sailed down now and you are back to 100%.

Really hoping it will settle down as I don't want to be caught short anywhere when I'm out if you know what I mean! May defer going up to 7.5mg if it doesn't settle down.......☹
These fake providers prey on people’s desperation and emotions. I think the key thing here is that you need to do your research and not rush into it. I spent 2 months researching it before going ahead and the official information is very easy to find. I can easily see though that if you are feeling vulnerable and desperate you might take a “friends” recommendation in your haste to feel better about yourself.
