Hotpoint and indesit are exactly the same on the inside just different names on the outside are different. It’s the same drum same programming etc… so results should be the same. And all these cool mix programs you do like the “chef whites” isn’t giving any of the machines a fair chance I worked in kitchens and we had a cheep statesman 1000 spin 5kg drum proper bottom end of the scale… but when we used a 60c or 90c most of the time everything would come out white!! You need a hot cotton wash at least 60c for theses types of things you are washing it’s making the machines look like they don’t clean well as everything comes out stained still because you put it on a cool mix wash 30/40c is not enough heat or time for it to get it cleaned properly. And liquid is good for rubbing in Staines , but I would say washing powder is loads better at getting whites clean than liquid or pods. But they are good for darks rather than powder detergent. I worked in a kitchen in a hotel and I don’t care all these detergents lie 💯 only mild Staines will come out on a 20/30/40c washes. You need hot water and heavy washing action for thses types of Stains not cool washes makes it look crap and my old machine was a hotpoint and it washed extremely well on a cotton 60 wash 🙂👍🏻
Not impressed, first if all for this load a cotton 90 cycle should be used. Mix is different on all machines so that causes an unfair test as the aeg has a much quicker mix coming in at 1h
@@max_dottie Depends on the country and shop. Sometimes the price difference is not much at all. And the AEG ran on the shortest cycle. It also depends on the temperature, and on the AEG there is a stain option, which adds extra detegerent when the best temperature for stain treatment is reached, and it also adds time to the cycle but that option wasn't used either. The test was rubbish ye
The thing I’ve learned over the years, is a good machine will clean well, even with crap detergent, whereas a bad or even average machine needs really good detergent to do the job well. We used to have a Hotpoint, that was a bit crap, to get stains out and to get anything even remotely clean needed top end Persil bio or Ariel. Our current Miele gets everything out with even Formil non bio or Asda Smartprice (online shopping substitution!). Sometimes spending the money is worthwhile, but not always. I only buy Miele and Bosch now, as they work brilliantly and very rarely go wrong. Yeah they are pricey I admit, but buy a £1200 machine that lasts 12 years vs a £300 machine that lasts 2, it’s worthwhile. Mum and dads Miele washing machine has just passed 17 years old and works like new, only one repair which was a replacement seal in that time, seems reasonable to me!
All machines require a good detergent. Even if thats non biological. It’s the temperature and length of cycle that important and if you have pre wash option which most do a stain removing cycle and a hygiene mode that keeps even the rinse water warm.
That was the lowest end model from AEG, the price depends on the country and shop, sometimes the price difference is not much at all, the AEG ran on the shortest cycle which is not made for heavy soiled clothes, the wash results also depends on the temperature, on the AEG there is a stain option, which adds extra detegerent when the best temperature for stain treatment is reached, and it also adds time to the cycle but that option wasn't used either etc... The test was rubbish ye
Don't you think the other machines don't have special stain functions? Mixed wash isn't a good program for all three machine. Use at least a normal cotton 60 C program. Still I don't think the AEG is a bad machine.
Surely it depends on what detergent you are using. Plus if you use a warmer wash like 60 instead of 40 and use the stain remover cycles that you can customise depending on type of stain.
I use non bio with skin friendly fabric conditioner . I am on occasions rather messy spilling stuff on myself or when I am cooking so my new Bosch washing machine has its work cut out and to date has never left stain in any of my clothes.
Hm the question is WHAT DETERGENT WAS USED bio or non-bio. If you have stains then you would choose stain removal features on the machine and also other products like ace or vanish.
I bought a Hotpoint, had to get it collected within days. Still looking for a machine that doesn't have a huge amount of programmes that people rarely use if at all. The tech is far too complicated for a basic washing machine on a majority of washing machines, the manufacturers have all gone bonkers!
Go for a Bosch Serie 2. They may be pricey but they are built to last a long time. I have a Bosch washer dryer that has lasted 16 years and hasn't had a single repair in its life
Sorry Channel 5 what have you done the the gadget show????? I'm sorry guys I have been watching the gadget show from day 1, the gadgets are still great but the new format is terrible, and where is King Craig??? the old format was great, and Jon has no input to the other gadgets? PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE BRING BACK THE OLD FORMAT 🤔😁

They should have done cheap bush for £200 vs mid priced Samsung for £500 vs £1,200 Miele
Agreed. The comparison on the video is useless.
Not even a comparison by just comparing 2 Indesits and 1 AEG🤦

Their idiots for making the AEG look bad bet it would do a lot better if it was put on a proper 90 degree boil wash
@@superdylan803 yep!
That was the lowest end model from AEG.
Yes but considering it cost a lot more then the indesit/hotpoint it doesn’t make any difference , since either way the aeg was rubbish in this test

What I want to know is how long was each programme?

What are you doing to that £300 machine to break it in two years?

@@lisadefries6718 if it is then the bearings need a change. If you would like to delay that don't overload the machine which everybody does.

I agree the test isnt always matching what the machine actually was designed to treat

Could of turned on active care for the hotpoint
It's funny causs they've hidden the logos but on the Hotpoint, 'Hotpoint' appears on the display when the power button is pressed.
It is not the money, it is how it cleans the cloth.

Bro the Hotpoint is Indesit made, so it's the same as the Indesit 💀
As viewer of TGS since the very first series, I just have to say that we have never wanted a feature on washing machines!
