If he was innocent, why ditch the knife, try to walk past cops, then lie after arrest? Not a good look for old Nico-lie.

OMG! This officer and his department should be so embarrassed. You would think that they would be prepared to testify. They do not know anyones name. I follow alot of trials and Ive seen officers are so prepared, knowing names and any all pertinent information. They dont seem to know anything about this case. Some retraining needs to happen.
The only thing that not smelling alcohol may prove is that he was actually sane when he didn’t listen to kids asking him to leave them alone, to get away from them, and that he didn’t all of this damage while sane and fully understanding English commands. The defense didn’t help themselves with this repeated line of questioning . The prosecution is not asking deeper questions it’s crazy. I could tru this case better and I’m not a lawyer.
People don't get to demand someone goes away from them if they are all in a public river. The 'kids' were the aggressors and were drunk/drugged (no excuse for being bullies) and though clearly the death was tragic, the 'kids' were centrally guilty in the escalation of events and the tragedy. Had he not had a knife, who is to say NM would not have been the victim of the 'kids'.
I no longer think Miu should be convicted of murder. Youths got what they had coming.

Agreed. I just read the indictment and the probable cause specifies very clearly that the evidence is him being assaulted repeatedly before anyone is stabbed, him being assaulted repeatedly after his first assailant is stabbed, him be assaulted again when the girl is stabbed, his being assaulted again when the 3rd assailant is stabbed, and even the judge must have thought wth is this?
After you read the first charge of 1st degree intentional homicide and the following 4 counts of attempted homicide, Deputy Schaeppi also authors the event summary that depicts it very clearly as an assault against Nicolae Miu, but calls the assailants victims while his indictment summary indicates a very clear and obvious contradiction of these terms and the charges with what actually happened.
Miu being afraid of arrest made some very poor choices in ditching the weapon and playing stupid when talking to the deputies, but considering who these people were, how many there were and the totality of events, I'm not surprised. They taunted him over to them by holding up a phone, then yanked it down which is when he accosted their raft train. The first to touch anyone else was the girls shoving him, then trying to humiliate him by putting their hands on his chest and arm 3 times before the boys attacked him. They claimed he punched the girl with the knife in his hand and knocked her to the ground, that Miu was nearly knocked unconscious by their attacks, and repeatedly changed their stories.
I can understand him facing charges as he bears about 15-20% of the blame, but the rest is on the teenagers and the parents' crimes of supplying them alcohol, getting them drunk, committing perjury and well beyond.
@@JonDethyoure brainwashed and insane. He went up to them looking for trouble then proceeded to stab 5 children instead of walking away.

@@JonDethI would really like to know how long it took an ambulance to get to Isaac Schuman. The nurse commented on it being a long time and it sounded like (although I might have this wrong) Ajay had a worse injury. I’m wondering if he could have been saved. Ive been looking at another case and there seems to be a big problem with getting EMS out in a timely fashion.

These kids acted like animals, now they want to be seen as calm and rational people. Hope Miu gets acquitted, hope the perpetrators get charged, and I hope Miu sues them all civilly.
