    What Doepfer module tutorial next? (see description for list)

    Can you just run a wire from the reverb out to the switch on the feedback in? (Some soldering required). That will normalize it. When you plug something into the feedback in it breaks the normalization if you wanted to use an external input.

      I would need to take a look at it but honestly think it was a batch where they forgot to do this in the factory. A cable also does the trick but it was something I thought was worth mentioning.

    Strange I have a new one (RCAs are removable) but the feedback is normalized. It self-oscillates at about 2:00 without anything patched. It’s been a year since this video was published, so maybe Doepfer has updated the most recent ones?

    I’m not 100% but it is possible that the difference in sound you are experiencing between your old and new a199 is due to the RCA cable going to the spring tank being plugged in reverse. Try to swap polarity on the “noisy” one..there is a chance the noises goes away as well.

      none are noisy, there’s slight differences like one feedbacks a little sooner and the overall timbre but the one that’s a little more raw (noisy as you might call) I prefer that one

    Nice video! Just one question. What about the hum? I´ve heard that there are some problems when you place the tank close to digital modules or to the power supply inside the case

    • @Detroit-Berlin
      @Detroit-Berlin  Год назад

      Thanks, I never experienced hum, maybe it also depends on the power supply in use?

    I love using A199 with the wasp filter, in BP mode, so it enhances certain freqs. Cheers!

    Good stuff. How big are the tanks you’re using? Just the standard ones?

    • @Detroit-Berlin
      @Detroit-Berlin  Год назад

      just the standard ones, bigger ones don’t fit behind the blanking panels.
      I do have a bigger tank from my Intellijel reverb, might try it with the old A199 but since I like to use that one before the vca a bigger tank might not be better.

    Hello. I have the modern version and the feedback works without patching. Which is good as I like to send the out to filters and back again

      maybe I’ve got a bad batch

      Wet Reverb output should indeed be internally normalled to Ext Feedback input

    What happens if the feedbacks are crossed from L to R? I've just got one A-199

    • @Detroit-Berlin
      @Detroit-Berlin  Год назад +1

      I also was thinking about that actually, will try it and let you know. I guess it depends on wether the feedback knob controls the fb volume coming in or signal going out. It will make not a big difference or the left feedback knob will make the right reverb feedback etc., might also take slightly longer to feedback and might make the setup sound a bit more mono. Test will reveal how it will behave 🙂
